Texas Basketball's Offseason: Key Decisions Ahead

Now, with the college transfer portal opening in just 11 days on April 7, Coach Sean Miller has little time to regroup. The Long Horns added five key players through the portal last off season, and this year they might rely on it even more to rebuild. Miller stressed the importance of talking with current players first, both though staying and possibly leaving. He sees a strong chance to attract top talents to the program. Fans and players are still shaking off the tough defeat, but decisions loom large. Star-swing men, Dalyne Swain, who led Texas and scoring as 17-3 points, rebounds at 7-5, assists at 3-6, and minutes at 32-8 per game, has to choose. Between the NBA draft and returning, sophomore center Mata's Volkieta-Idis, averaging 15.6 points and 7.1 rebounds, faces a similar call after a breakout year. Several others have already signaled they'll come back.
