Texans Reinforce Defense and Line | NFL News
About this episode
The Houston Texans are beefing up their roster with key additions: defensive end Chris Braswell, a second-round pick with 2.5 sacks and 48 tackles, and rookie center Kaena De Cambra to fill the offensive line void. With pass rushers lost this offseason and Clowney recovering well from minor injuries, the team is stacking depth where it matters most—just in time for their showdown against Buffalo.

It's September 2nd. Welcome to NFL News Today, powered by AI. I'm Cory with the story. The Houston Texans are making some moves, adding a couple of new faces to their roster. They brought in Chris Braswell, a defensive end who was a second-round pick last year, and Kayina Decombra, a rookie center. This comes as they also re-signed some players and added others to the practice squad. Braswell was originally drafted by the Tevbe Buccaneers and is played in 34 games, tracking up 2.5 sacks and 48 tackles. He's joining a Texan's defense that lost a few past rushes this off season so he could definitely bring some needed depth to that unit. On the offensive side, Decombra is coming in to help out the offensive line. The Texans traded away one of their centers and another was claimed off-wavers, leaving them a bit thin at that position. So this addition is pretty timely for them. Meanwhile, there's some good news regarding Jadebi on Clowney. He's apparently recovering well from a minor hip injury he picked up during a preseason
game and is expected to be ready for their upcoming game against the Bills. He's also dealt with a small ankle issue, but that's not considered serious. So while they're bringing in new talent and dealing with some injuries, the Texans seem to be shoring up their roster in key areas, especially with Clowney looking healthy.
