Tennessee's NCAA Tournament Journey Begins

0:00On March 15th, Selection Sunday is here, and bracket experts have Tennessee pegged as a number-six seed after their quarter-final loss to Vanderbilton, the SEC Tournament. ESPN's Joe Lennarty slots the volunteers in the Midwest region, while CBS experts see them in the East. Both projections have the vols facing a number-11 seed from the first four games in the opener. Lennarty has Tennessee playing in Philadelphia against the winner between Miami of Ohio and Santa Clara. A first round win would send them to the number-three seed, Virginia or number-fourteen, Tennessee State. CBS projects a matchup with a different number-11, followed by number-three, Michigan State or number-fourteen North Dakota State if they advance. The SEC looks strong, with ten teams projected to make the field, including number-one Florida, number-four's Alabama and Vanderbilt, and others like, Kentucky and Texas. ANM, Texas ANM gets a buy as one of the last four in, comfortably, while Missouri and Texas sit on the bubble as the last.

Under coach Rick Barnes, they've earned top five seeds in every one of the past seven trips, and made deep runs, including two elite eights recently.
