Teen & Twentysomething Kids: Toughest Parenting Phase

Many say these young adults act entitled skipping basic responsibilities around the house. Common gripes include leaving lights on and empty rooms, not replacing the toilet paper and piling up dirty dishes. Over half get frustrated seeing energy wasted, especially with rising bills, while a third fume when their grown kids just ask what's for dinner. Without offering help, mothers report feeling like they're living in a messy student house, with wet towels on floors, muddy shoes by the door, and crumbs everywhere. More than two-thirds describe their homes that way. The poll done by utility warehouse ahead of Mother's Day found 67% with skipped flowers or gifts in favor of kids pitching in on. Chores like taking out the trash. Despite the annoyances, three-quarters of moms say they're proud of their kids' growth, and most agree parenting remains deeply rewarding.
