Hey everyone, welcome to the Six Figure Shatch Podcast. I'm your house Peggy Ray James. More entrepreneurs want a business that allows them to work less and make more money. But how does that actually happen? It happens in the details and through intentional actions. So in each episode we'll be diving into business strategy, marketing, selling, and personal development to help you make the necessary shifts through the Six Figure Business and beyond. Are you ready? Let's dive in. Hello, hello, welcome back. We are talking about journal prompts today, but really journal prompts that are going to help you revitalize your business and your passion for your business. It's going to give you some clarity. It's going to give you a little bit of a reboot. So I was thumbing through some of my docs and I came across a list of journal prompts that I had given a client a couple years ago,
when they were having a little bit of like a business midlife crisis. They felt like they really weren't clear what they wanted to be doing and who they wanted to work with and what they wanted to offer. And everything just kind of seemed like it was chaotic. And so I said every center. We're going to work off some journal prompts. It's going to give you some clarity around what you really want to do. And so this podcast episode is going to give you a few of these journal prompts and I've kind of organized them in a way that's helpful for this episode. But this is for the person that maybe is feeling a little bit like in their business. They like what they do. They continue offering services and have a business, but they just feel like maybe something is off. Maybe they feel like, you know, they're always working or their mind is always on their business, or they're not getting the results that they want to see. And they just feel like they need just some clarity on their next move. This is a great podcast for you. And if you're not at that point in your business, star this, you know, I don't know, however, you want to save this episode, do it, put it in your favorites and have it.
You're having an off day or an off week or an off month and you're just like, I just need some clarity here. You can pop back in and you can listen to this episode. Okay. So let's dive in journal prompt number one. If I could run my business anyway, I want it while making the money that I desire, how would I do it? And this is a chance for you to free right right? We're not editing ourselves. We are not trying to, you know, figure out the how right in this scenario, we are just allowing ourselves to dream. We're allowing ourselves to imagine a world that if you did, like if you truly could run your business the way that you want it to, how would you do it? Okay. So I want you to take that time and really dig in this next journal prompt. I'm going to dig in a little bit deeper, right? So that if I could run my business anyway, I wanted to while making the money I desire, how would I do it?
This is more probably like a broad picture. You probably could write a couple pages on this, maybe, maybe not, right? But I just want you to just kind of free ride. I want you to write all of this kind of get it all out, right? And these next journal prompts, we're going to, we're going to hold in a little bit. We're going to dive in a little bit deeper. So the next one is what are the parts of my business that I love? Now you can do this anyway, right? You can bullet point it. You can write incidences. You can write in paragraphs. You can write what part of your business that you love and then give an explanation for why you love it. There's lots of different ways that you can approach this, but at the very least you are bullet pointing and you were just kind of going align my line, the parts of your business that you love, okay? The next journal prompt is what are the parts of my business that leave me feeling depleted? Now depleted, you know, it's nuance and there's probably different, different, different people will interpret this in different ways, right? But for me, it just feels like I, at the end of the day, I don't necessarily feel like energized by the work that I'm doing.
I don't only feel excited about the work that I did. I feel overall just like tired, drained, like I've just given every ounce of myself. So this is kind of what I'm talking about. And this might be a combination of a couple different things that make you feel depleted. But the idea here is to kind of pinpoint areas that you, you do consistently and that leave you feeling depleted or tasks that you have to do that you absolutely join in that dread leaves you feeling emotionally exhausted, right? Think about the maybe the client that drains your energy, okay? So you can look at this in a couple different categories. You can look at about this through tasks that you do, offers that you offer clients that you work with, team members that you work with. So it's not even necessarily what parts of your business, it could be who leaves me feeling depleted in my business. So feel free to break this down in a couple different areas, right? The next journal prompt would be what am I no longer available for or you could say what do I want to be no longer available for, right?
So what am I no longer available is more like a statement, right? If you're not quite there yet, and you're like, I feel like I need to put this in a way where it's like, this is what I desire to know whatever you available for you're welcome to do it either or way. I would love for you to really make it a statement. I am no longer available for and bullet pointed out. I'm no longer available for clients that drain me. I am no longer available for tasks that anybody could do. I'm no longer available for working on the weekends. I'm no longer available for, you know, doing three week launches. I'm no longer available for my calendar being full of one along calls. These are just ideas for you. Okay. But I want you to just, and I don't know that yourself, because what you're going to want to do is you're going to write down something that you're no longer you want to be no longer available for and you're going to talk yourself out of it. Well, oh, no, but I can't be no longer available for that because this will affect that. That will affect this and oh, my money and my revenue, but your your brain is going to talk you out of it. And I want you to shut that part of your brain down.
Perfect scenario. Perfect world. That's the place that I want you to be writing from. Right. Next journal front. I no longer want my business to affect X. All right. And I dotted this in because at the time when I was working with this client, she really felt like her business was affecting different areas of her life and her mental health. And so we wanted to kind of pinpoint areas that she really felt it was affecting her. And the purpose of this is to really help like to help to help you and it was to help her figure out where she needed to tweak things, right. So if she, if I was to write down, I don't know what my business to affect my marriage. Then from there, I need to get really specific on how I feel like it's hurtly affecting my marriage and what I need to do, which will lead me to what I actually need to do. Right. In order to change that.
So a lot of these journal prompts are going to lead you into these bigger thought processes. So feel free to break it down anyway. You feel like it's helpful for you. At the very least though, you're just bullet pointing. And I feel like you could do that with almost all of the questions that I've given you here is just bullet point these things and then go back through a little bit later. And, and you know, dig into them a little bit more, depending on how much time you have. And, you know, just in the head space that you're in. Last journal prompt, then we'll move on to something else that I think is helpful. One of five things I want to change about my business. You can write this as again, a statement or just a wish list. Whatever you're most comfortable with, but I want you to get these things out. And this list of five things shouldn't be that difficult for you to jot down and there might be 20 things that you want to change and that's okay.
But based on the work that you've done prior, you are going, there's some things that are going to pop in your brain right away. You dare edit that. Don't you dare talk yourself out of it before you even write it down. Okay. This exercise, these journal prompts are an opportunity for you to pull out what you've been suppressing, what you've been kind of pushing down deep. And this might not be comfortable for you to do, but it is so useful and it's going to give you so much clarity. Now, I'm going to recap really quick. If I could run my business anyway, I wanted while making the money I desire, how would I do it? What are the parts of my business that I love? What are the parts of my business that lead me feeling depleted? What am I no longer available for? I no longer want my business to affect dot dot dot x. Five things I want to change about my business. Okay, those are the journal prompts that I want you to work through.
Listen, as you're working through these and you have an on-home moment, would you please DM me on Instagram and tell me because I just I love hearing from you guys. And being on this podcast, I think I've mentioned this before, it's one of those things where like people aren't commenting or reacting to your stuff, right? You really don't know who's listening. It's always so nice to hear that what I am putting out there every single week is helpful. So if you find this helpful as you're doing more, please reach out and let me know. And I'd like to just chat with you about it too if you're open to it. So moving from the journal prompts, another thing that is really helpful to do is visualizations. And again, looking at this Google Doc that I sent my client a couple of years ago, one of the things that I told her to do would be to imagine what her ideal Tuesday looks like. From the moment you wake up, from the moment you fall asleep, what does it look like? Now, I picked a Tuesday because that's just an ordinary day, right? What I'm talking about your perfect Saturday, your perfect Friday night, your perfect Sunday.
We're talking about a day in the middle of the week when the kids are in school, like we have kids, right? Where your spouse is working, if you have a spouse, right? Like the world is just kind of like the world is busy, the world is doing things, right? This is just a normal ordinary Tuesday. I want you to close your eyes and I want you to imagine it piece by piece bit by bit, okay? You could always take this to the journal if you'd like to. If that's easier for you, but I really would, there's something so powerful about visualization. And you can break it down, right? Like the moment your eyes pop open, what do you see? Right? What do you feel? What do you smell? Okay? The moment your feet hit the ground, what are you doing, right? You're sitting at your breakfast table. What are you looking at outside the window? What are you eating? How do you feel in your body, right? Like continual, like dig as deep as you can. These are just, I'm just giving you examples. You know, it's that you, let's just say, I deal day, you know, you're sitting down at your office at 10 o'clock.
What am I working on? You know, what clients am I talking to today? Am I talking to any clients? What am I working on? So just again, allow yourself to walk yourself through an ordinary Tuesday, okay? The last prompt that I gave her in terms of visualization, okay? Is close your eyes. It's five years from now. And I'm standing up in front of a crowd of women and I'm telling my story. What am I saying to them? This is kind of like a very, very deep visualization. But I really want you to think about that. For my client that I did this for. She was in again, like I was saying, midlife crisis in her business and, or mid business crisis, whatever you want to call it. And there was definitely parts of her wondering if she was, if she was on the right path, right?
If she, if she should have her business open and you might not be in that place right now. But this is going to be really helpful for you because it's going to solidify. What you want to be talking about, what you want to be known for, how you want to impact, how, how you want to feel what, you know, all of these different things. And so maybe you're not quite ready for that visualization and that's okay. But maybe you are, if you are, do it, do it. So, again, like I said, this is, this is for the person who needs the reboot, who needs to, to revitalize their, you know, what, what they want. They're calling their purpose. Like it's really going to pull out a lot of that through these journal prompts. And I really challenge you to go deep. And again, save this episode. If this is not, you know, super relevant to you right now. I guarantee there's going to be a point where it is. You're listening guys. And before you go, I want to invite you to join Grow Business and Marketing Membership. This is the membership for service providers and coaches that have been in business for a few years.
