Tanner Bruhn Returns to AFL After Charges Dropped

He'll play in the cat season opener against Gold Coast on Friday night. Braun missed all of last season after facing serious charges that were later dropped. The charges involved rape and intentional sexual touching. They got dropped last November when the complainant admitted to lying. Jalong coach Chris Scott stood by his player through it all and called the situation one of the worst injustices in the sport. Scott praised Brune's resilience and said it's great to see him focus on football now. The 23-year-old has 66 games under his belt since debuting with Greater Western Sydney in 2021. He switched to Jalong at the end of 2022. Brune trained hard over the preseason and even played a practice match against Carlton. Scott plans to try him at half-back instead of midfielder for this game. He stressed not to overhype the return but sees it as a positive step. Meanwhile, key players Jeremy Cameron and Bailey Smith are fit to play after injury scares.
