T.C. McCartney Joins Packers, Brings Famous Lineage

This move comes from NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, and while the exact duties are still unclear, it adds a fresh face to their coaching staff. McCartney got his start in coaching right after playing back-up quarterback at LSU. He began with the Cleveland Browns in 2014 as an offensive assistant under Kyle Shanahan then followed him to San Francisco for 20, 17 and 2018. He stepped up to on-field roles in 2019 as quarterback's coach for the Denver Broncos. Later, he coached tight ends with the Browns from 2022 to 2023 and then with the New England Patriots in 20, 24. That Patriots sent overlapped with Green Bay's own defensive line coach to Marcus Covington, who was their defensive coordinator there. It could mean some built-in familiarity for the Packer staff.
