Sycamore Gap's Legacy Lives On in Manchester

The original tree had stood for nearly 200 years until that shocking event in September 2023. Now, the National Trust has nurtured 49 such saplings to carry on its legacy across the United Kingdom. Earlier this week, locals planted one of these saplings in Newton Heath at Scotland Hall Road Park. This spot honors the easy-come, easy-grow group, a resident-led effort to boost green spaces and community ties through gardening and events. People were heartbroken when the tree fell, sparking widespread anger and sadness.
