Survivor AU: Redemption Week 2 Exit Interviews

About this episode

Survivor AU: Redemption Week 2 Exit Interviews

Mike Bloom catches up with the latest players voted out of Australian Survivor as Paula Drew, Harry Hills, and Johnson Ashak reflect on the moves, misreads, and rivalries that led to their eliminations during week two of Australian Survivor Redemption.

Paula Drew discusses the alliance she built with Harry Hills and how a key misread of tribe dynamics, particularly underestimating Lahy, allowed the numbers to slip away from her before Tribal Council. She shares how quickly the power shifted and why she believes the blindside ultimately came together.

Harry Hills breaks down the increasingly desperate position he found himself in and reveals the unconventional tactic he attempted to stay in the game. He explains how he tried to leverage the tribe’s flint as bargaining power in hopes of forcing a last-minute deal that could flip the vote.

Johnson Ashak, known to many viewers from Big Brother Australia, talks about entering the game with a strong strategic reputation. He dives into his rivalry with Mark and how being perceived as a threat made it difficult to build lasting trust within the tribe.

Host Mike Bloom unpacks the blindsides, shifting alliances, and strategic decisions that shaped week two of the season.

Hi, everybody my Gloom here getting you ready for our week two EXID interviews for Australian survivor redemption. If you somehow missed it, Shannon has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, Rory Taylor Gus. Please, if you haven't yet go to At Shining Gates on really any social media platform, send

1:01her some love. Look at those adorable photos. My heart goes out to her, Peter, Rory, I cannot wait to see everyone kind of move into this next phase of their life as a shinin' espouse so wisely in one of the recaps that she was on this week. Yes, shinin', did not go away without doing just a couple of podcasts, including one like less than 24 hours before giving birth, but I would expect no less. So she did an episode four recap with Puyah, she did an episode five recap with Shepal and I did the episode six recap with our first alumni guest of the season in Eden and Porter. Those were all a lot of fun, but now it's time that I talk with the three boots from this week's Australian survivor episodes and hopefully in me talking for longer than a minute. At this point, people have had enough time to fumble for their phones if they have not yet watched all the episodes so that they are not spoiled to the identities of these people

2:02because these were three very, very fun interviews. I got the chance to speak with Paula, Dirty Harry and Johnson, three people that were taken out in some very flashy ways. Of course, Paula and Harry partners in crime who went down due to a big power shift that happened within the tribe, but certainly from Harry, he did not go down without a fight. And then Johnson are big brother alum making the crossover to the island, this battle dynamic between him and Mark throughout their time on the beach finally came to an end. They all offered a lot of really valuable insights as to what we saw, what we didn't see and what we may expect from the swap next week. Of course, if you haven't yet, make sure to subscribe to wenoglobalsurvivor.com to make sure you don't miss any of these podcasts we've got going on whether it comes to recaps

3:02proper or exit interviews. And I believe again, the episodes are going to be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So you should expect me to talk with Chapelle and then another alumni guest to cap off week three. But why are we talking about that? We got to get into all the good stuff from week two. So without further ado, here are my interviews with Paula, Harry and Johnson. Paula, how are you doing right now? You just washed yourself, get blindsided for the second time this time watching it back. What was it like getting to watch? Maybe a little bit more context as to how it all came together. There was much more context, I think. It was actually wild to watch. Seeing Lottie being like Simon saying, Paula, what? I was like, he turned a little higher. So saying that back was definitely eye opening. Yeah. Well, yeah, let's get to that because I think some things need to be straightened out here.

4:04Did you or did you not talk to Lottie or Asha about Simon being sus? I 100% spoke to Lottie about Simon being sus. Yes. Did I push his name for a vote? No. So I was very sus on Simon. His social game was so amplified this season like he was killing it like doing so well. And I was like, I don't trust this guy like we need to watch him like he's doing some weird stuff. But that vote was not pushing Simon. Well, let's talk about maybe the situation that got you into this, which was what you pushed last time, at least from our perspective that there was something behind the scenes who was responsible for the Eliza vote and then eventually this information comes out. So let's talk about the reality of that from your perspective. How did this Eliza vote come together? Did you play as big of a role in it as was presented to us? Yeah. I can't even deny it.

5:05I can't. I'm sorry. I clocked Eliza from like day two. Sorry. She, she's so charismatic and she's so funny and she has this way of like getting into people's heads. And I was watching her do it. She was doing it. She did it with Jackson. Sorry. I was watching her do it and I was just sitting back like this chick is dangerous. Like how is it? And everyone's like, oh, she's the Eliza being silly. And I was like, I'm sorry. Just no one actually realized that one, she's an author, absolute wordsmith, two, she's a comedy writer and she writes skits on the fly. You have to be so quick-witted and be able to pivot to get a hit out of people and be able to target someone so well that you can make them laugh, you can make them engaged. I was like, how is no one clocking this? Like what is going on? So I'd spoken to Harry about it a little bit. And then anyway, fast forward, she wakes Linda up in the middle of the night. Perfect.

6:05Perfect for me. And then Linda was like, oh, I want Eliza, she woke me up and I was like, that sounds great to me. So I was like, this is perfect. Linda floats it. I kind of push it a little bit. And then we get back from Eliza's tribal and Linda goes up to Jackson and apologises, takes full responsibility. I was like, this is a gift. I was like, my prayer has been answered. This is perfect. Sorry. That's kind of the way it worked out. Sorry. I didn't vote her out because she woke Linda up. I wanted her out because she was an immediate threat for sure. I mean, that's so interesting because yeah, it does seem like Jackson's coming back looking for answers. And to your point, Linda was the one to at least provide her rationale. But it has brought up later in the episode, you know, the Jackson will find out eventually that you were spreading her name. Did you debate it all, like, copying to Jackson a little bit, considering that, well, we'll get into this level. It did seem like you and him and Harry were something going on, at least from the propagating. Yeah. Yeah. So I guess the plan Harry and I had was Harry vote laws to then be to say to Jackson,

7:08like, look, I voted laws. I haven't voted Eliza, you know, come into me. And then kind of my stance on that was, well, you know, Linda wanted it. I wanted to make Linda feel comfortable and kind of keep the alliance strong and kind of keep Linda in. So I did, I did support her in that way, but it's nothing personal against you, Jackson. And when you see Jackson wearing the Lady Diana coat, the rainbow Eliza jacket, I actually gave that to him. So Eliza had left that. And I was like, I was like, where Eliza's jacket, like, play for her, like, we'll all play for her now. Like, we'll, you know, I was like, it sucks that she went home, but you have us wear her jacket with pride. And that's why you can see him being like, oh, this is the revenge jacket, which is such a good trove and props off to him, but yet didn't work in our favor in the end. Unfortunately, we didn't plan on Lottie kind of getting in there. Yeah, well, talking a bit about your perception of Lottie, because I'm having trouble kind of sussing out like, she's obviously doing a lot to us, but I don't know how you all were

8:09seeing her at the time. What's your perspective on her? Sorry, sleeping arrangements tells you a lot, right? Right. Sorry, in terms of sleeping arrangements, I was sleeping in between Lottie and Asha. Right there. Sorry, Lottie and I were speaking quite a lot. Everyone was terrified to work with Harry, probably the only person that wasn't terrified was Jackson and I to fully work with Harry. Everyone was so scared of him. Oh, why? He's fun. Sorry, I was speaking to Lottie quite a lot. I was getting quite a lot of information from Lottie, kind of what she was planning, where she was going, her reads on people. And then I was coming back to Harry and being like, this is what's going on. And I was like, you guys need to chat, but Lottie was not interested in chatting to Harry very much. Like, he would try, wouldn't really get a lot going on. And then the chat that you do see of them in the hammock, I worked my ass off to set that chat up for them. And I was like, yes, finally, this is coming about.

9:09We can make something good happen, but really it was just Lottie, Plotman and scheming. Well, let's talk about Harry here because, yeah, obviously this is your most important alliance. It's arguably the rest of why you're talking with me right now. Correct. Correct. Let's talk about these initial stages here because it sounds like from what you're saying, there's a lot of trepidation to approach Harry. Were you like always eager to jump in? How did the two of you start building this relationship? Yeah. So, I mean, my plan going in this season was, it's redemption, right? I knew that was going to be a returning players. So I kind of, I wanted to really work with returning players. A lot of the players didn't. And I was like, this is perfect. I was like, the spotlight's always going to be on them. You can kind of work behind them in the shadows. And there's more of us than there is of them. They're going to have to work harder to get in with us, right? This is perfect. Like, we can string them along. We can do whatever we want to do, right? So that was kind of my plan and then cut before merge because once they get to merge,

10:10like, if people, I didn't know, obviously what the other tribe was like. So I was like, I don't know what the other tribe's like. I don't know if Brooke and Mark are still going to be in Mark's gone wild. I was like, so to play kind of in the shadows and pool strings, I think that's what Lottie and I were both doing. So she's kind of playing a little bit behind Simon. And then I'm playing behind Harry. And then it kind of just blows up. She kind of gets me before I get her. So that's kind of the dynamic that you're seeing. Well, something we sort of assumed you would connect with ahead of time. And maybe our math was obviously can clarify here. Of course, one of your big redemption stories is the fact that you were supposed to be on Australian survivor years ago before you had to get surgery. Was that for Harry's season or was that for another season? Sorry. That was for Harry's very first season on Champions first contenders, yeah. Did you tell him that? I did, yes. And he was just like, are you joking? I was like, no, I feel like this is meant to be. Like, we're on the same tribe. We're both from Perth, WA. I was supposed to be on your, like, this is perfect. And he was like, oh, my God.

11:12And so it did kind of aid in like creating and kind of solidifying that bond moving forward for sure. So what's interesting is that one of the reasons that Lottie uses to go after you is is calling you Harry's enforcer. What is your reaction to that perception, especially given sort of that returning player label? Are you surprised that you were sort of taken out here as like, oh, well, she's the one that's actually doing Harry's work? I mean, kind of a very correct read by Lottie. And like, she, the reads she gets, they're always spot on. Like, she's so switched on, it's insane. I mean, I don't think, I don't, I wouldn't classify myself as Harry's enforcer. I think we worked very well as a team together. And we had a pact that we'd made. So the pact was, we always speak to each other and we pitch who we want out, whatever, X, Y, Z. If we don't agree, we have to be okay with having that argumentative discussion, but not turning on each other.

12:13So it was like, he obviously was wanting Lottie, like spearheading Lottie. And I was like, we need to work, like, let's work with her, we need to work with her. And then he had it in his mind that she was coming after him, which she was. He's very on the money, but I think that was kind of the pivotal point in our relationship is that, yes, we can work together, but yes, we can also disagree and still work together and not backstab each other, which is something that I found really, really useful and quite comforting in the game. So obviously you all were trying to assemble the votes against Lindel. That's what you thought the plan was going into tribal. Had you at that point sort of like formed a block of individuals, we obviously see a lot of you in Harry, you Harry and Jackson, but was there a group that should you have survived that vote and Lindel goes out here? You were going to move forward with. So Harry, Harry, Lottie and Simon and I had actually had a big chat, a couple of nights before. So we were planning, we were like, look,

13:14we know the tribes divided basically, it's like Simon, Lottie, Paula, Harry, split. I was like, sorry, let's have a big chat. We were in the hammock, we were in the hammock for hours and we were like, this is perfect, this is a good thing, we're all on the same wavelength, we're all vibrant and we're all like, we can do this. Like if we just start picking people off from the sides in, we all had a few couple do not touch, but like if we can work from the outside in, it would have been perfect. So I think that's kind of where the blindsided come from. And like obviously voting out Lindel from the girl's side is kind of, that was our first, like yeah, we want to work with you, go for it to Lindel and we'll work with you and the next time it was going to be someone from Lottie's side, but alas, that didn't happen. Something that I noticed in these voting professionals during your final words was like, I can't remember who it is, but they said that you were playing and Harry were playing too hard, too fast. That was Lottie. That was Lottie, yeah, so I mean, all ironic to say the least.

14:14But what in reach of Miss Lottie? Yeah, but what did you make of that? In retrospect, do you feel like if you had not gone and that aliza direction, it could have kept you in the game for longer? I think potentially, I think because we went, the, I wouldn't say the fact that it was aliza, I think the way that we play that around aliza, so there was some obvious, I guess, strategy in the vote. So Harry voting laws, me voting aliza, obviously to keep that connection with Lindel, I was like, it's, I think people started to be like, oh, like people are starting to think and like, starting to do blindscience and like people are starting to really switch on about, not just thinking of who the vote is, but what's going to happen after that vote. Like Harry is thinking three, four, five steps ahead, whereas people at that point, what only thinking about that night. And I think that kind of made everyone very super aware and really switch on after that vote.

15:16Well, speaking of thinking three, four, five steps ahead, I did notice that before you mentioned that, you know, your planally is going in was, let's use the returning players then when the merge hits will get rid of them. Couldn't help but think of the fact that you were lying very closely with the returning players. So despite all those commonalities you have with Harry, were you intending to go far with him or was he going to be part of that plan to ditch around the merge? I think the first couple of days, I was like, I'll just use these guys and cut them like it'll be sweet, but I think after you've been, you're living in each other's pockets, you've been out there day in, day out, you know, Harry was a really good support for me out there. It would have been very difficult for me, genuine like hand-on-heart to vote for Harry. And I think, I mean, if it comes down to male him, obviously I'm voting him, but like in any other aspect, I don't think truly that I would have. Anyone else sure, but I think I would have found it very difficult.

16:19Like this man, it was, we had a torrential monsoon one night. He was literally sitting in front of me while I was huddled behind his back. He was just copying rain to the face for me. Like he, I know, I know, and I was like, I can't. I don't think I genuinely could have voted him. Well, someone you were not afraid to throw their name out as you mentioned before was Lindel and I'm really curious about your perception of her because obviously we are getting a lot of, she's on the bottom, she doesn't know she's on the bottom, she obviously gets a little myth to you at the mere idea of her being the decoy vote or the split. But then still votes where I wanted her to vote on Jackson. Yeah, so talk to me about that. What was your relationship? Lindel and I actually get along really well. She's really funny. She's real like down to earth. And we actually vibed quite a lot, like we have a similar sense of humor in terms of like, she's just so direct and so blunt and it's quite good.

17:19But the thing with Lindel is that it was very difficult to stretch out with her. So I think the first night I stayed up the entire night with her, didn't see her go and dig for the idle, what the hell, how did I miss this? Harry was awake the whole night till we were like, how did we miss this? And Harry couldn't really stretch out with her either. So we were trying, I was really trying to get in there. But any time we even tried to do it, she was like, oh, I don't really know, like, maybe, and we weren't getting a lot back. So I was like, I can't, I don't trust her. I can't work with her. I enjoy her as a person, but it's becoming difficult for me to put faith into her because she's not giving me the trust back to say things to me. And it was just kind of making me feel a bit weird and a bit cautious of her. So I think that's where you kind of see this kind of wishy washingness of then her kind of on the bottom of the tribe. Well, last thing I want to ask, you are, of course, a vet nurse by trade.

18:20So I'm curious, from your extent of knowledge of the animal kingdom, what animal would you compare your survivor games played to and why? Oh, God, that's a good one. I don't, I'm in Lottie's story. I'm some form of prey, but probably like a random rabbit. I think, I don't know. I think maybe I'm going to say a hyena because all we're doing is laughing and that we will go in and attack and do things from the side, but we let people do the hard work first and then we go in after. So I think maybe that's kind of the avenue. Well, listen, you were a leader of the pack in so many ways, whether it be hyenas or otherwise. I mean, I think it's very clear that you capitalized on, not even a second chance, but sort of like a dream deferred in a manner of speaking and obviously this was something you wanted to do all these years ago. Now that you were back, it was just serendipitous the way you were able to connect with Harry, even the way you describe him now. And obviously, I wish that we were talking, you know,

19:20weeks and weeks and weeks from now, when you're, when you're, when you're two months, but I was thrilled to get the chance to talk with you and hear all about this perspective where again, you sort of came out swinging, you were making these really subtle crafty moves and just came down to the fact that another subtle crafty player was able to cut your legs out from under you. And I cut me right at the knees, Mike. Well, listen, this was a knee slapper, I should say, get a chance to talk with you today, Apollo. This was such a great time. Thank you so much for opening up to me today about everything. I really appreciate it our conversation. It was a pleasure, thanks, Mike. Of course, all the best to you and yours have a good one. Join the rest of it. Thanks, bye-bye. Harry, hi. Mike, how about you? I mean, I'm, I'm, that could be better. Could be watching you on our screens for episode six and beyond, but, you know, regardless of how I'm happy to get the chance to talk with you. You could have set this game on fire, Harry, but only you had a flint. Yeah, we tried.

20:20We tried to blow everything up. But yeah, I don't know. The players, they were, they were too good for me, but we did, we did die trying. Well, I want to talk about that, that try towards death, I suppose, or to save it away because I'm curious. Some people felt the edit painted it in a certain way of, oh, Harry was totally fine. It was going to be Jackson, and then he pulls this thing off with the flint. So from your perspective, did you feel that? Did you feel like the die was cast towards you? And that's why you wanted to do this whole thing with the flint? Well, I mean, I was just up against it anyway, to be honest. Like, and if, if Lindel and Lose are there, then I'd go for them. But yeah, we were just up against it at that point. And it was a sort of thing where I was like, well, I could do this. I could not do it. I was like, it's the smarter thing to not do it. Like, I'm just kind of like beg for my life. But I was like, do I really want that to be my last little thing? Like, I can't even imagine how bad it would have been if I'm like,

21:22oh, please save me, like, look really me can then get voted out. So I did go back and forth with that. And I was like, well, this, this feels like me. Like, this, this feels like right for me to just basically like give it like everything. And I was a lot of fun doing it. So the flint thing for me was something I'd kind of come up with a little bit earlier. But to do it in the way I did it was like very in that moment. I was like, Lose is like lightning strike away. Just like this, this is insane, like in the best possible way. So when you were going into tribal council with this idea in your head, what did you think the chances were of it succeeding? And how quickly did that go out the window? Once Jackson starts going into his speech, I didn't really think about that to be honest. I was kind of just like, I don't know. Like sometimes when I do these things, it's kind of just like a gut feeling. Like it's just like this, like I don't know, like it's just an energy.

22:23And I'm like, this is, this is crazy. And like it's, it's high energy. And I love it. Like I remember the last time I really felt it was when it was all stars and AK stopped me. And I'm just like standing there, like, do I play a thing that saves us or do I like, do we just like, let it rip, like, let it go. And I remember like going with my gut then and it was just the best feeling, like it just, just let it rip. So I had that feeling with this. I think that was the overriding thing. I was just like, this is going to be fun. So the thing that I was very thankful for is that Jackson, actually, it was a long travel and like waited until the last bit basically to actually show man. He's a wrestler for a reason, which is good. That's what we were trying to like instill in him is like, you can, you can be this star. So we went through the whole thing. It was great, like really, like push people's buttons,

23:24go to see the fear on people's faces, hilarious. And then towards the end starts cutting a promo on me. Talks about the past and many wallberg and like all these sorts of things and like getting revenge. Well, that's interesting because yeah, I know Rich, Rich's vote shadow, Maddie Wallberg, but it was a thing. Yeah, it was a thing. Like it was like, like we're getting, I get like redemption slash revenge depends on how you look at the word redemption. Whether it's the dictionary definition or not, but it was basically revenge. But there should be a revenge on like Pia and Jeanine. You didn't have any, well, they were there at the time, fortunately. So yeah, you don't big monologue love the very cinematic pulls out the flint. And at that point, I'm like, well, like we're we're done here. Dave, I remember was trying to ask you a couple more questions. I was pretty just like, like we're done Dave. Like this is, uh, this is over now. Well, I want to talk about some of your relationships and let's stay on that Jackson train

24:24because you guys were devilishly eating papaya in the jungle together. I know that obviously you have this, you know, uh, move. Where is the connection, the wrestling connection? You also tried to do this holding with the Eliza vote, where you're purposely voting in the minority. But then he's, where's this revenge cardigan and post vote, Paul out. So talk me a bit about like your take on him. Did that change your dynamic and the, the way you approach him to try to bring him into this move? Um, I guess the thing for me is I try not to take things personally. Um, I just try and like, I mean, or if you do take it personally, it's not this like long standing thing. Like I will never work with you. I mean, I guess for me, in my past experiences, like I've literally had alliances where I've like voted for every other person in the alliance and we've still come back together. Um, so for me, I don't take it ever long term personally. Um, I was trying to rebuild. Um, so yeah, it was the sort of thing where we had this connection.

25:25Um, I'd been building it for a long time. Like we, I knew who he was from the start. Um, and so you just have this other language and other energy when like wrestlers talk and wrestling fans talk. And so I wanted to include him, like I wanted him to be there with me. If, if I was going to do this flint thing and you kind of just waving it around and you just like, oh, like, like you're done. Like, like I'm going to go home and like you're going to all stop. It's just kind of comes across as just like mean, whereas if it's Russian relair, it's a game. And it's, it's just more fun. Like I think the way that it played out was probably as cinematic as it ever possibly could be. So I'm, I'm okay with that. Did you feel like your relationship did change after that, that pulver? I mean, I know they were sort of like in the corner store, like I'll bring you into this. But did you ever feel like you could be on the same page? Had you both survived that tribal? Well, I think that we were okay. I think it was more that it was just our, our other options got cut down.

26:28Um, because I feel like we voted out Eliza. He got his revenge. My alright, fair enough. You got your revenge. Um, I definitely made the mistake, uh, putting the vote on laws and being disingenient about it. Cause like we saw it got like called out, um, didn't think people would be paying that much attention to what I was doing. Um, like really like every detail, having a look at it until that point. I was like, okay, like this is, this is not good. Like people are watching every single little detail and like, and really, um, checking up on me. Um, so I still thought I was in the Jackson in terms of like friendship. I still think we are now, um, so I was just kind of hoping that we would have other options to vote out to be honest with you. As soon as laws and Linda were gone, I was like, we are screwed. Ha ha. Well, I want to stay on something that you were just talking about, which is people watching

27:32you having their eye on you. And I want to talk a bit about perception here. You mentioned this in the very first episode about the fact that you were one of two returning on your tribe, the dirty Harry Moniker followed you into the game. I mean, how much do you feel like the die was cast against you from the jump? Did you feel like you had a struggle from the jump considering that you were a returning player and the fact that you had this reputation? Oh, yeah. I mean, yeah, it was, it was tough. Um, there was definitely people who had really strong anti-returny sentiment, like a good portion of people. And then I think you'll find if you interviewed people, there would be quite a lot more that were very, very keen on the idea of like, well, like, they'll be here up until pre-merge, merge, and then they go, like, be like, Harry's a great first merge, but that sort of thing. Um, so I feel like it was really up against me. I don't think it was until that point after the Lodge vote that

28:33it was really apparent that people were just, like, watching every single thing and really judging harshly for it. Like, any mistake is like, er, like, you're done. Um, so before that, yeah, definitely aware of it, I was trying to work through it. Like, obviously, you try in social game. Um, it's not in me to be as good as Simon, and I don't think Simon had that same perception. I mean, he was playing hard, like, in the social game, he was, like, working like 10 times harder than anyone, like, kissing butt and, like, doing everything, and, like, fair and fair play to him. I was surprised it worked. Um, it was really working on people, like, just smoothing all the time, like, getting on side, and, like, I did a bit of that, but I don't have it in me to, like, just constantly, um, do it. So, um, I think it would have come across as disingenuous in any way. I think people would have been more sauce, but I think no matter what I did, people were a little bit sus on what I was doing. So, a little bit cast. I mean, there was also two revenge stories,

29:36like, like, one per tribe. There was, like, a Maddie Wallberg revenge for our tribe and, uh, Matt Rogers revenge for the other tribe, like, set up for me. So, a little bit, but that's, that's what you got to expect if you're a returning player and you've done naughty things. Exactly. You have to, you have to deal with your own ghosts, let alone the ones that Mark is dealing with in the jungle. Well, you mentioned Simon. Let's, let's talk about this here because we were robbed, of these rice euphemisms. Where's the rice chats? What were their rice chats? Where there wasn't the code that you guys actually ended up talking in? Yeah. Um, it was code that we used, and it was good. Um, we probably didn't need to. We probably could have played a little bit more together. I don't think it would have affected my game. I think it might have affected people's perception of him. I think he really got a little bit less of that judging because we were good keeping separate. He didn't get like drawn in with me. I was like, you're singing shit by the end. So it was probably good to keep that distance. But yeah, there were plenty of rice chats.

30:38Have to point out that he's a old rascal technique. So yeah, honorary rascal for Simon. I don't know if I've even told him that. Um, I would feel a little less special if you told him that that was something from your previous season. But I mean, it's, it's a good strategy to have something that you can really use in front of everyone. Um, and it's really just sort of not suspicious. It's a great way to like keep you stretch out invisible to other people. Um, you can really send signals to each other. So, um, yeah, we definitely use that. Was this another relationship that changed though in the past couple of votes? Because I mean, he votes against Paula doesn't fill you in. I don't know if he ends up telling you that, you know, you were the one that was on the hot seat. So did you feel your dynamic shifted with him in the past couple of episodes? Um, well, I think it was just bad on that day where I was spiraling a bit. And like, I was already like, I stout of all chats. Like, people just not telling me a name or

31:39anything. Um, and then like, the only thing I was kind of hearing, like, they were just like, mumble lindle and then walk off. Um, then had an argument with Paula. And then I think after the argument with Paula, like, he wanted to chat. And I think he saw it was just terrible. Um, I don't think our relationship was bad. I think he was just distancing himself to protect himself, which was fair enough. Um, I really was hoping that we could actually make something work that was like me, Paula Loddy, Kamasha. But Kamasha was very off that. Um, very off that. Um, and so it just wasn't quite clicking. Like, you know, like, you look at things on paper, you're like, oh, why don't you go with these people or do this? There was nothing for me that really worked off paper. Um, in terms of like a cohesive thing. Well, let's talk, let's talk about Loddy here. Uh, your enemy turns like best hope essentially by the end of your run here to start. I mean,

32:42did you have any idea she was coming for you as hard at least as she was in the, in the confessional yeah, like she was, she was looking at you as public enemy number one. Yeah. I think, I think the important thing that gives a lot of context to our tribe is that we had me Loddy, Paula and Simon as this like Cold War where it's like we wanted to maybe become a group, but at the same time, like I wanted Loddy out. She wanted me out, Paula wanted Simon out, Simon wanted Paula out. And that was like a Cold War that existed until they took the shot at Paula. Um, I don't think that was the best thing for Loddy. It probably would have been better for her to get rid of me, but by that point, we both actually wanted to work with them whereas, um, Simon got a bit sketched out on Paula. Um, I don't think she would have been able to get Simon anyway, to be honest. And every time she'd say to me, I'd be like, oh, we're not, we're not doing that. Um, and Loddy would have told her the same. Um, so, um, yeah, I think it was a little like, there was a truth in there that was

33:47like that little beat of truth that they then used to like extrapolate out. And I think plenty of people were happy, um, playing the middle. So as soon as like a good name came up, they're like, yeah, gone, Paula's gone. Well, talk to me about your perspective on her because you even say at one point, like a lot, he's playing a much better game than me at this point. Yeah, she's good. She's crazy good. Um, talk to me more about that. Yeah, what was it? What was it like experiencing that out on the island? Yeah, what she was just really smart. She was always like in the know about everything you could tell. We actually did have a couple of chats. And so it was the sort of thing where I could tell she knew where everyone stood, um, really, really beyond her time good at this game. Like I felt like she has my strength in terms of like perceiving things, seeing where everything lays, um, but just had even more ability to just like rally people around her, um, like really just unbelievable, like and just a natural at the game. Like I was really, really surprised

34:49at how good she was. Like five days in, I was like, this is unbelievable. Like really, really crazy scary good at the game, um, which is why I wanted her out. I wanted it out so badly. I'm like, this is the smartest person here. Like she's playing better than me and like we need her gone. But she had already insulated herself so quickly, um, and no one wanted her gone. Well, maybe that's one reason why you have one name in your mouth. But I feel like you throw it a good amount of times. It always seems to be like, am I not rich? I get to put a rich in there. That's part of the flint game. And this is obviously someone that we don't have a lot of access to. So like, is that a reflection of his standing in the tribe? Why was he the person that you consistently went to? No, that was desperate. The last one. So I mean, I feel like he was playing slower. I naturally play a bit slower. So I was only really getting some of these good chats with people by like day seven. And in survivor terms, that's a really long time. It's crazy long. So I was really behind for things like that. He was playing slower and he was slowly

35:52ingratiating himself with like, asha, cam, that sort of thing, as well as being generally friendly and useful to the rest of the tribe. So he was actually doing really well, really well. And so it was only really the sort of thing where I was just like, well, Linda Laza gone. Lots of these other people that were around before are gone. And I don't want time in out. I don't want Jackson out. And the other three are just completely insulated. So it was pretty much rich or Jackson or no one. That was the choices. And so yeah, it was really funny. Like, I felt like it was a name that if they were choosing between rich and affluent, I was like, maybe, maybe they go for it. Like he was in with them, but maybe not like like really in the in the center circle of that. So I was like, I'll give it a shot. But at the start, I was just throwing names because no one was really throwing out a name. So I was like, I will, if no one throws out a name, then they'll start thinking a bit too much

36:57about it. And maybe think about me, just make the big move early. So I was like, like, put out laws, put out rich, like some like easy votes. I don't mean that to offend them, but like, it's the sort of thing where someone's not connecting quickly. Why not just put a target on them? Did you get the sense that had the wall not come down in this individual immunity challenge that Lindell would be gone or did you feel like the target was so on you at that point after the Paula vote that it was going to be, you no matter what. I felt like I had a pretty reasonable shot at Lindell. I don't know whether she would have played the other. That would have made it crazy because I didn't know she had it. Like, there was some suspicions. Yeah, you didn't see the worst idle swap in the world according to Brooke. No, because when I was throwing the big, it was when I was throwing the big thing. So I was the last person to join the conversation and I split my finger. I was like bleeding. And so I was like the last person around for that

37:58big thing. But I mean, I knew, like, I get the whole production, whatever that I won't really go into. But basically, it was unusual to just be like, oh, hey, everyone, just go mingle. Mingle for a little bit. I'm like, that's not normal. Like, something's happening. But like, I'm also bleeding out here. So like, maybe let's get some medical attention. I can't really like cons and trade on it. So yeah, didn't see any of that. I was surprised. Like, in hindsight, I'm very surprised that Lindell wasn't that keen to include me on anything. Right. Because you tell her that, you know, you're on the bottom. It's the umpteen time that she's like, why did you tell me this? You're making me paranoid. You're going to make me angry. Well, I mean, before that as well, I mean, it's like, um, it was a whole thing of like, well, if you're really keen on playing with Brooke, like, I'm friends with Brooke, like, well, why wouldn't you be keen on including me in a little bit? Especially if we've already, like, I think it was like day two. I was like, we'll be in an alliance. Like, you me, Paula and Jackson, like, let's do

39:00something. She didn't seem keen on that. I think that was apparent by like day four or five. She really wasn't that keen on keeping Jackson or Eliza. And so, I know, it's just weird. In hindsight, watching her back, but she wasn't that keen on it. Weirdly enough, like, I think other people like Eliza clocked the first advantage as well. But I mean, that was from my season. Like, it's like almost identical to the Henry thing. Yeah. And so me and Brooke were the last people to walk in. You can see it in the top down shot. And we were like, looking to see if there was anything there hidden, but they hadn't put it on there yet. And we were like talking about it coming in last. And then Brooke did the thing of just being like, I'm going further around. But it's like, I can't really get away with that. I'm like, one of the bigger guys. Like, I'm going to have to push this stupid thing. Like, I can't be like, oh, I'll run a new guys push. So instead, I really made sure that it was either Jackson or Lindel going because I wanted

40:04to work with both of them. Like, I was getting good vibes immediately. And so I'll work with them. Like, one of them's going to get the advantage if it is one there. But never go included on it. So, well, you mentioned Brooke. I'm keen to find out because obviously, you know, you were unfortunately a couple of episodes away from a swap. But like, when that, if that were to happen, was the goal to get to Brooke as soon as possible? Was she someone you wanted to go to the end with? Yeah. Yeah. I just wanted to play like no matter what other attorneys I would have played with. But yeah, it would have been great to have Brooke around again. It's the sort of thing where I was a little bit worried about if she would cut me early because I did try and go for one point in all ourselves. But at the same time, like, I was never going to look her out. Like, it would have been, like, maybe like, final little bit if I was there, which, like, obviously, that's miles away. So I didn't really think about that much. But there was never going to be any point where I targeted

41:05Brooke unless it was like knowing that half a million was on the line. Well, you did have at least someone to sort of fill in as your right-hand person. That was Paula, as we mentioned before. So talking a bit about your relationship and how much did losing her affect, you know, the way you saw the game and your position in the game. Yeah, it sucked. I need those other people as well. Like, I considered Paula a friend and an equal from very early on. Very similar, like, sense of humor, like, things that were into both being from W.A. It's easy to get along. But I really liked that she would actually have opinions and tell me no, give me feedback. That's the sort of thing that's really good to have, like, a sounding board. You can say ideas and they'll tell you if it's good or not. And the sort of thing where, like, she had good opinions and strong opinions and, like, wanted to do things. And it was okay for me to tell her no.

42:06And in the early stages, that's what I literally told people. I was like, this is what I'm looking for in, like, an ally. Like, I want someone who's happy to tell me no, who isn't just going to, like, snitch on me or, like, go and, like, tell people to vote me out. Because they heard that, like, I just want someone who's like, no, that's not a good idea. And that's exactly what she was. I don't have good skills in terms of, like, really quickly influencing people. I could do it over a long time. But it was also what I was looking for was, like, someone who could push votes. Very quickly. And I think for the most part, she was that was good at, like, sort of making her way around and, like, whipping up votes, which is what I need. It's not my strength to do that quickly. Well, we need to cut to the end here as you work quite emotional in your final words, talking about what this survivor journey has meant to you. Listen, there might be a rascal who

43:06has played four times in the past. So if you were to get that call, come out from time number four, would you do it? Or was this for you, like, a marked end of an era I'm done playing? Yeah. It felt like retirement for me, especially the end. But I'll put the caveat if there's a big international season. And you're, like, putting that, like, carried out there of, like, big American players at African players, people that have watched and loved, then, yeah, like, I'll be into that or consider that. But I think other than that, it's, yeah, that's retirement for me. I don't think I can talk. I don't think I can talk that. I have no more insane ideas left to give. Well, then how do you look back on it? I mean, obviously, in the moment, I'm sure there was a lot of pontificating, but now that you've had even more time since, too, to look back on what, up until the inevitable a year versus the world, too, was your three season run on survivor.

44:07What do you make of it? What has this meant for you, considering the number of years it's been? For me, I mean, it's just like everything you dream about, like, if you're a survival fan anyway, like, it is, you know, you find an idol, you get to do challenges, you get to win challenges, like, make alliances, give the alliance a name, like, pretty much every, like, bucket list thing in terms of, like, being a fan, like, I've done. So that, like, as a personal thing, that's crazy, like, so grateful to be able to save it. I've done that. But on top of that as well, I think in terms of, like, what I've given back, I think it's just that you can play and be yourself, like, you don't have to necessarily try and fit, like, in a box and play the way like, oh, this is how Winner plays. Like, if you're an Australian survivor, you have to go under the radar. And then at this point, you have to do this. And I'm just like, no, I'm just going to blow things up. And like, I just want to play the way that I want to play it. And,

45:08you know what, like, that didn't work out for me this time. But like, we've proven that, like, big players make the end. Like, you've seen, like, I came third, like, we've had people, like, Dave win the whole thing. George has made the end. There's been other people as well. Like, Hayley didn't necessarily pull punches. I also, like, yeah, exactly. And so it's the sort of thing where you can be yourself. And like, you don't have to worry about being afraid of things and, like, beating yourself into this, like, idea of, like, what a winner should look like. Just play hard and be yourself. And if I've given anything, hopefully, that's what people take away from me playing. I mean, what I personally feel I take away from you every single time is this sense of fun. I think it is for you. Yes, obviously, you hope it's a business trip of a lifetime. But there's also, I think, this element for you of, like, I want to enjoy myself while I do it. And look, sometimes that leads to things like holding the tripod stage with their only source of fire. But that was very fun. But it was very fun. And I think it's, it's a celebration

46:11aspect that I think does inspire a lot of people, not only in survivor, but I would almost imagine outside of survivor as well. I'm sure you've been approached with people who feel like they don't want to go full dirty Harry with the know the way they regard people or do things. But I think it's there's this, this license of if you're going to be starving and miserable and sleepless, like you might as well enjoy as many facets of it as you can. And if it pays off successfully, that's absolutely incredible. If it doesn't, at least you went out on your own terms. And I think all three seasons of yours has showcased that. And I think it's a really beautiful tentative not only survivor, but kind of just our day-to-day existence. Yeah, I think definitely, like, if you're going to go out and play and give yourself, like, have some fun with it, don't take it so seriously. Like, obviously, we're sleeping in the dirt and going with that sleep and all that sort of stuff, like, just have a good time. Like, that's what it is. Well, there's the, there's crew of hundreds of people. They're all making the show, like, you're there, like, you're part of history. Just go big and have a good time.

47:17Well, listen, I don't think many of you were having a good time watching you go home, but hopefully they were getting the chance to chat with you. I always relish getting to hear from you. And I'm so happy we got the chance to chat, to hear a bit about what was happening behind the scenes. You're a perspective into all the topsy turbidness that happened over the course of your time. Again, I cannot echo enough how much I love getting to watch you as a player, how much I love going to talk to you as a person. This was an absolute pleasure. I wish it was, you know, 19 episodes from now, but regardless, getting to talk to you in general is a treat in and of itself. Thanks, Mike. I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you. Of course. Well, I wish you nothing but the best. I cannot wait to hear your thoughts about the rest of the season, because I'm sure you got plenty of locked and loaded about some of these players. And I cannot wait to see what happens next for you, my friend. So thank you again, so much, Harry. This, this means so much. Thanks a lot. I'm really excited for the rest of the season as well. Yeah, all right. Best of Jordan, you have a good one. Thanks so much again, Harry. Thanks. See you. Bye.

48:35What a twist. Whatever level of active, Sierra loves it all. Head to Sierra or Sierra.com for the brands you want at the prices that let you do it all from athletic to athletic. Sierra's got it. Oh, Johnson, here we are from BB to 10. How you doing right now? Mike, thank you so much. I'm the silverback has been severed. My cremation is now complete. And I am so grateful for the opportunity for the experience for it all, but I don't want to be talking to you. I know. I don't want to be here. I want to be back on Baron Beach for now. Well, listen, we have a bounty of topics to get into regardless. You say you can belong on Baron Beach, so we've got the bounty taken care of. Thank you. Thank you. Well, I want to start even with the way you got into this game, because I was watching all the social media stuff that you all did before the season. And you said, like, I'm not going to tell anybody

49:38that I'm a big brother player. Cut to one of the first things we see is Mark saying, like, oh, well, Johnson's got the experience. He's a big brother player. This is someone that we need to look at. So did that spot get blown up immediately? Was that a tactic you changed once you entered the game? No, my tactic was very clear. Be someone about big brother. Hopefully no one knows who you are, because I didn't want people to, you know, know who I was. You know, I played a big bold game on big brother. I was the king of the newbies. I took it to the returning players. And I had no problems with that. Fast forward to 2026 on Baron Beach day one. Johnson from Big Brother. They recognized me that you're exactly who I was and tried to downplay the style that Big Brother was. Suggested it was more of a, you know, social. You were just lounging around the house, sort of game. Like Big Brother is now. But or the original style of Big Brother, but it wasn't.

50:45You know, the big brother that I played was survivor in a house. It was all about alliances, gameplay, like strategy, numbers, votes. That was the most nominated housemate. That was the most number of vision points cast against me, but I did not go. That's because of my game. Yeah. So as you kick off that game, because what we're sort of privy to raise the fact that you are willing and dealing, you are making these alliances, but it's something that is very open. It is something that has become very apparent to a lot of people. Talk to me about that. Were you aware at all of the way you were being perceived as you were making all these separate conversations with people? Yes, absolutely. On you exactly, like every opportunity, and that came from me tapping people on the shoulder to having, or sorry, to wanting to have conversations and then kind of being like, well, do I want to be talking to one of the biggest players here? Like, is that, am I increasing my threat levels? So people really wanted to kind of

51:48create a gap between me and them. And I gathered that, but through Johnson's spirit around the ship, I just kept being persistent in wanting to have conversations with people. Because although I'm a strategic powerhouse, I'm also a very soft person on the inside. Like, I've got this incredible life that I want to share with people, and I love people. I'm a people person. I've cried myself on my ability to connect with people. Yeah. So let's get into some of these connections here. I guess we'll start with the most complicated one. Let's go to Mark. Let's really hit the vein with the first relationship here, because it was a complicated dynamic to say the least. Obviously, he's gutting for you. You are certainly getting for him at a certain perspective. So talk to me a bit about what was your first impression of him? And how did that change the more time you spent on Baron Beach together?

52:49I guess my first impression, I mean, I'm a great judge of character body language and eye contact. And I gathered very, very early on with our first trouble that he was going for me. And I knew that. I absolutely knew that. What I didn't want to spike my threat levels. So my strategy going into that first trouble council was say less, do less, and hopefully it pays off. And it did. You know, the less I said, the better it was because that blew a game up. Yeah. Right. Cat really blew a game up. From that point on, after Mark couldn't control that virtual certain degree with Killian and Faith, he wasn't hiding the fact that he was going for me. And all those, and this is a very

53:51mind you, this is very one professional and two, this is a game. So nothing's personal here, yeah, to be transparent. I could read through the bullshit of him not wanting to take me out. And so did he. But we had this kind of mutual understanding that we were going for each other, but we're all lying to each other's face. So there was a level of respect there to a certain degree. For him, I think he was petrified of the game that I could have played. He was scared and intimidated potentially of what I could have done. And simply for his game, he couldn't have me there. You can't have two balls in or in. You can't have two sharks in the tank. It is called the shark tank, but there's there's four in a chair, but they can only be one at the end. The Samoan Silverback surely beat his chest, but the Samoan Silverback was severed.

54:54And now the Samoan Silverback has to rethink about what his strategy is going to be moving into hopefully a different game show. Okay, it's a little bit of a tease there from the Silverback. Well, I want to get to you mentioned before that you were wary of the fact that Mark, you knew he was going after you. So I'm curious because you're making this patient this last most recent episode of like, we need each other. We need the perspective on the surface that were enemies when actually we're working together. How'd you survive this vote? Were you turning things on Mark? As Mark says, like, did you sincerely have some trust in him to try to do this low-key alliance? Okay, great question, Mike. Great question. And there was, let me take you back to 2022 to answer these questions. Okay. 2022, I came up against one of the strongest strategic masterminds of Big Brother Worldwide, Big Brother Australia, Big Brother Canada, for a second-time Big Brother Australia,

55:57Tim Dorma, and I took it to him. And I said to Tim, Tim, if you want to play this game, you need someone like me in this game because you're a big threat and I'm a big threat. Big threats are fun. And so if we protect each other on the opposite side, you will have, I'm ferociously loyal to those who show loyalty to me. So I was absolutely weary and that would have been the turning point for the Mark Johnson relationship. If he did what he said he was going to do, to not write my name down, that would have closed the book of the Mark and Johnson and potentially we could have moved on and played the game on opposite sides together. I was definitely there, but that needed to be reciprocated first before I, before him and I share a level of loyalty to each other. And I knew that and that's why I then pinned my attention to people like Faith and

56:57Killy. Why would they go and pitch Caleb's name? They're trying to save me for what reason? They're working with Mark. Well, they're not. They're working with me. And that's why they're trying to pitch Caleb's name because they know that I'm what's in their best interest moving forward. You know, the monarch or the Mon Mark, I like to call it, was like a tight grip on the tribe. And a lot of people felt uncomfortable about it. And they wanted to shrug that Mon Mark or that monarch and that dictator style of play and play in a democracy, play with the votes. You know, and unfortunately, I was, I guess, such a big player that a lot of people were concerned about the way or the style of play that I hadn't. It was my demise. It was my Achilles heel. Well, you talk about at that first Cat Tribal Council. You just want to sit there, do less, hope for the best. There was a lot that was done to you, and maybe less so about doing less.

58:00And that cat decides to just call out everything that you were telling her throughout the afternoon. So give me a reaction to that. And do you feel like that permanently affected the way everyone looked at you for the rest of your time in the game? I'll start with how I was feeling. It was, so I want to give kudos to myself for being composed. You can definitely lean on emotion and start retaliating and start going, because everyone's saying everyone's name is survivor. And if you're not, you're kidding yourself. So she brought up Tez. And I spoke to Tez before tribal. And I said to Tez, I'm saying your name, but I'm voting Don, when he said copy. And he knew that. That's why in that tribal council, I was comfortable with him. And I actually defended Tez for four days, Tez did not say a single word. You know, he was, maybe that was his game, but he felt like he was on the bottom. And if you see in that tribal, I say, it's about time someone who hasn't said a single word after four days

59:05says how he feels. And this is not against my arch nemesis. No, this is against my number one Ben. So he's coming at Ben, but I'm saying, you know what? Tez, well done for speaking your mind in tribal council, because that's what this is about. So I think people had a little bit of respect for that. You know, that I'm a, I'm a man of democracy. I'm a man of, you know, of what the tribe wants and needs did cat blow my game up, potentially. Maybe it did linger in people's minds that, you know, I was playing the game. Everyone knew I was playing the game. Where the cat said it or not, I was forced to be reckoned with. And, you know, people were concerned that the silverback was going to reap heavy consumer. And he was, it was going to absolutely come try swap. It was, I, I needed to waltz into a new tribe. And they probably,

1:00:11the barren tribe, those who voted with me, I would have been loyal to those who voted against me. It would have been a very, very different game from interesting. What? Absolutely. If you voted against me in that tribal and we got to try to swap and you're in my tribe, who would have been very different? Well, I want to get to, again, this most recent episode, because you mentioned something very interesting before about how you saw, you know, the faith in Keely wanted to work with you. So why did you not go with the Caleb family? Seeing the episode, you're being like, I'm not sure if I trust this, how much of that was incorporated in your decision to ultimately not vote for Caleb. They were never voting Caleb. It was, sorry, they were voting Caleb until word got back to the monarch. And the monarch was very displeased with his raw subjects. And as a result, he needed to jump straight to damage control.

1:01:22There is no coincidence that I am wearing my buff over my head as a slide nod to King George because I knew I was going, I had a gut feel, you know, you know, and you know when you're going, you know when eye contact is off. And in the last five minutes of a scramble, people aren't talking to you, talking to everyone else, and the people that you've spoken to previously, now speaking to you, you know, your, your, your opponents. So you've got to be mindful, you've got to be weary. And it was not a single Caleb vote. Mind you, five minutes before scramble, I got to Brooke and I said to Brooke, Brooke, I know you have a nodal, and we both know I know you have a nodal because I saw Lindel and Brooke swap idols. You saw the worst idol swap ever at the bench?

1:02:22Yes, yep. And I told Brooke that I saw her that night that she swapped it. And I said to Brooke, Brooke, if you want to be on the right side of history, on the right side of one of the greatest moves known to survivor, Ralea and worldwide. Tonight, you play your idol for me, and you will unleash that someone silverback that will viciously defend you until the end. And I said, this is a sort of loyalty and respect that we need to develop. And that starts today. I'm sure to me. And she was maybe in disbelief that I have that I had that in me. And she played it for us all. Well, I want to talk about some of the people you had on your side here because it seemed like in episode two, going to tribal council is like, all right, it's Johnson and it's Ben and it's Sally.

1:03:26And then you leave tribal council, you know, both all having voted in the minority and Sally having voted for you. So I'm curious by the time you go into the second and ultimately final vote, who did you feel like you had out of the bear and trap? Who were you closest with? Yeah, so I'd say Ben has blanched at this stage. I had an alliance with, I had the Johnson and friends alliance. I had the alliance with Caleb, which was the salt and pepper. He was the salt. I was the pepper and we're here to see season the bear and tribe. I had an alliance with Don on Johnson, Miami Vice. I know everyone was hoping for it and we got there. It was the Miami Vice combo. We were, we have such a beautiful relationship done and I am. And you can see the hand screen unfold. You know, when we vote each other, we knuckle each other. When we're up against each other being voted, there's a nod. There's a level of respect. I took it more so as a

1:04:30sign of like two rivals being like, yeah, I got you. Yeah, I got you less. So a sign of respect. More so the opposite. No, no, it's definitely a level of respect. And Don and I have we have a lot of time for each other. I guess there were the people that I was working with. And Faith and Killy began to see what was a soul sucking tribe that had this air where you couldn't move or breathe, you know, unless it was approved by the monarch. And which is true, you know, it is it is true. You know, and that is an incredible rank that Mark had in the game. It was so strong and it was great at controlling every person's move. At that point in time, you know, it is it is it is admirable. It is absolutely admirable. And

1:05:34this is coming from enormous. Like it is it is and and I, I will, you know, credit where credits too. Absolutely. I commend big game players because I am one myself. And I will I won't go down. I won't go down swinging, but I will also on the sideline say, well done. That was incredible. And you can see how I take it. Tribal, well done guys. That was that was incredible. You know, I was never blindsided in Big Brother. And you know, this was it. I kind of I kind of knew that was coming. But that little bit in use, hoping it doesn't, you know, people side with you and you know, book plays an idol or so on and so forth, but all in good faith. Well, I'm curious because one of the things that cat many things that cat says about you is like you said that tez and keely, you know, we're floating through the game. They weren't playing the game. What led to that perception? And did I mean, obviously it seems like at least from a keely perspective, that massively changed between your two votes on Baron. Yeah. Um, so tez is a

1:06:36tez's style of play is very cryptic. Look, and I'm in construction. I'm an engineer. I can't hear at the best of times. I have construction hearing. I'm pretty sure I've lost all hearing 90% of the time. So when tez is next to me and he's like, well, I can't hear you, man. Like I can't hear you at the best of times. I need you to be clear on what you're saying. Like, stop speaking in in tongues with me. I don't do that. And so that's why I was like, what? Of course, I don't believe you. You're not giving me a reason to. Your body language says otherwise. You're not siding with me on the vote. Will the initial vote? I don't trust you. Don't trust you. You know, and even when I talk to you initially, that is, but first four days, I've got no reason to trust you. After then, tez and I create this incredible relationship. You know, he's of Greek heritage. I'm of Assyrian heritage. My cultural background.

1:07:42And you know, we draw similarities in our families and you know, the whole my big fat group wedding and so on and so forth. So there's a lot in common that we that we establish. And it's clear in my combination where he votes with me and not against me. Yeah, very true. Last thing I want to ask is again, obviously you came in with a lot of expectations as to the similarities of the strategy of big brother, strategy of survivor, especially since as you mentioned your season, utilize a little bit more of that, especially American big brother, you know, get the votes type of element. What surprised you the most about what either carried over or did not carry over from big brother and to survivor? Well, what carried over is definitely my style of play, bold, big and ruthless.

1:08:42Probably what for me didn't carry over is maybe because of people knowing who I was. They kept me at arm's length. So I was I was sort of expecting people to lean into, you know, the conversations, the one-on-ones, the relationship, which is what I'm about. You know, I've got this big bad smile and silver back, but I've also got this soft yellow inside, you know, I really pride myself my family. I'm very proud of my family, my friends. I'm a people person, naturally. And that didn't carry over, unfortunately, to the tribe. And it was probably a culmination or compounding effect from the first tribal, the Johnson front big brother, the style of gameplay. So there's a couple of things that probably worked against me that were my demise or that were

1:09:42my Achilles heel. Well, I'm so happy that I got the chance to sit down with the Samoan Silverback himself. It's a game that no one could ape in terms of your ability to carry over that that that that gamesmanship, those social skills, etc. And obviously wish it worked out in brighter prospects. But from what it sounds like, you know, the mood you described for Baron Beach, I know that you probably felt like it was a matter of when not if. And so you just decided to, you know, try everything you could. And that's really all you can hope for in a game like a survivor. So I appreciate everything that you brought to the season. Obviously, again, a lot of comparisons and contrast between your last reality TV experience, but enjoyable nonetheless as was this conversation. Thank you so much, Mike. I really appreciate all of that. It's a new world. It's a new universe survivor, but the Silverback has been severed. And hopefully in a different style or format or gameplay,

1:10:49the TV screens will see the Silverback in another form, hopefully. Not going in this case any time soon, yeah. Well, no, this Silverback will, this Silverback will be back. I love it. Well, thank you so much again, Johnson for all your time and generosity and answers today. I really appreciate it all the best to you and yours and have a great one. You too. Thank you so much. I appreciate you. Of course, take care. Have a good one. Bye. Monster Energy. Everybody knows why monster zero ultra. That's the OG. It kicked off this whole zero sugar energy drink thing, but ultra is a whole lineup now. You've got strawberry dreams, blue Hawaiian, sunrise, and vice guava.
