This is not Sam wrestling. Introducing your host from New York. Here is Sam Roberts. Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Well, I'm doing not Sam wrestling update. It's a big weekend in the world of wrestling. And one of the reasons is because Sunday nights main event is this coming Sunday, a lot on the line for Sunday nights main event. I think the two big matches are Cody and Randy and of course, Braun Breaker and Oba Femme. There's a lot of directions that those two matches specifically could go in. But also we get a little yaddy in the ring. Look, we previewed the whole thing on not Sam wrestling live on WWE radio on serious XM. This is where I'm hoping some of it will go. We got to talk about Sunday nights main event and what has become of this show. Right now we technically have four matches.

But one of them is also attached to a five minute challenge. So I guess that's the five matches and quavo is doing a concert. Is that right? Quavo is doing a performance. Okay, so that's probably I would imagine that's going to be your show. I don't think that they're going to add anything at the last minute, but who knows. So we got a performance from quavo. But let's look at what we've got in terms of what the lineup is for Sunday nights main event coming up on Sunday. Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley versus B-Fab, Jade Cargill and Meachin. I got to tell you, I am loving the Tatum Paxley rollout on the main roster. I think that she is Ben. I love that she's on Smackdown now. I thought her entrance was actually great on Friday. I thought it felt specialized. You know, there's a thing like she's like kind of a dark kind of metal, you know, character.

And if you don't understand the intricacies of that, it can end up coming across similarly to other characters like that. But she's got more of that like emo thing going on. And I think that it ends up that that ends up being the thing that makes her relatable. Like as nuts as she comes across, you also understand the reasoning for it. You understand the rationale. You understand where she's coming from. I'm a big Tatum Paxley fan. So I'm happy to see that she's got this opportunity on Sunday nights main event. I do think that this match should go to B Fab Jade Cargill and Meachin for a couple of reasons. Number one, I think to continue to strengthen not only Jade Cargill but the whole group. But I think that you have to look at Jade Cargill like she's not the women's champion anymore. So what you don't want to do is take the WWE Women's Championship away from Jade Cargill and then not continue to present her as a big, big star.

Champion or not, I feel like Jade Cargill should be presented as somebody who wins most of the time. She looks like a superhero. Super heroes, they win all the time. Like when superheroes don't win, it's a huge deal. When Doomsday killed Superman, the whole world had to get that comic book. And then they all bought it thinking it was going to increase in value. But then you realize like, oh no, it's not going to increase in value. They printed out plenty of copies for everybody. But I do think that this is one of the villains should win. And I also think believe it or not, I think Charlotte should take the pinfall on this or submission whatever pinfall. I think Charlotte should get pinned here. And I think the reason Charlotte should get pinned here is because of something where Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley are on the same page. You know, I don't think this should all blow up on Sunday nights, Mayneve. I don't think that this should destroy the team. But I think it should just be another seed, right?

This seed of like maybe Charlotte who has only recently finally warmed up to Alexa Bliss. This Charlotte Alexa Bliss tag team was defined for so long by Charlotte not being a team player. By Charlotte not really trusting people the way you need to in a tag team. And finally she warms up to Alexa Bliss. And finally they have this chemistry and then boom, here comes Alexa Bliss's friend Tatum Paxley. And I think the idea of Charlotte being like one page off from them. I think that's what I would like to see in this match. That's what I would like to see happen. We've got our five minute challenge, which is Baron Corbin and Yachty. We're in Atlanta. We're teasing a trick Williams United States championship rematch. I think Lilliyade has to survive the five minutes. If Yachty's not surviving the five minutes, I'm not 100% sure what we're doing. Like if it's just four minutes and Yachty gets taken out and it's like, okay, that's it.

We're moving out of the next thing. So we're not going to get the United States championship match. That would shock me. But all that said, I kind of think Baron Corbin squeaks this one out. You know, I think that if you want Baron Corbin perceived as a threat and perceived as a heal, you don't want to feel like, oh, he got lucky at Somerslam. I was able to beat trick Williams and now we're moving on. I kind of want him to beat trick Williams. I kind of want him to keep moving with that United States championship. I kind of want him to get the fur off of it. And he carries that title on because I think what you could do with trick Williams is, is start to move him into a different direction. Maybe start to get him away from that United States championship scene. Maybe start to push him a little bit more towards the WWE championship title scene. You know, and I think that might start with a loss, but that loss ends up being like a building block to what's next. Meanwhile, Baron Corbin is the bad guy that all these United States championship title contenders

that are good guys want to knock off the pedestal. I think that's a good spot for Baron Corbin to be in. I think it's a good spot for trick Williams to be in. So that's what I do there. I was talking about this a little bit on the show yesterday. Oba Femi versus Braun Breaker is a fascinating one to me because Paul Heyman cut this unbelievable promo on Raw on Monday. And really broke down why this match is so much about who loses. And that that becomes the question, right? He said that the person who wins because we're talking about the being the future of the WWE. And he said the person who wins this match kind of continues on the wave of momentum that he's been on. Braun Breaker considers himself the future of the WWE. People have called Braun Breaker the future of the WWE. He wins this match. He continues to do that. Oba Femi is considered by most to be the future of the WWE beat Brock Lesnar.

He beats Braun Breaker. He goes on on the same course that he's on. The person whose course changes like a lot of times when you're going into like a WWE championship match or even the United States championship match. Winning the match and winning the title is what changes the course of your career. In this one, the problem is they're both on the same course. So what's being settled is who's getting knocked off the course, not who's getting put on it. So whoever loses this match is the one that now has to define what their mission is, what they're doing and kind of who they are. And for me, I think that and it's also the compelling nature of this match is that Paul Heyman has not taken a side. The Paul Heyman is not representing either Braun Breaker or Oba Femi in this match. He's representing the match. When they signed the contract, Paul Heyman started the segment in the ring with Adam Pearce. He didn't walk to the ring with either one of them.

When he announces their names, he puts the same stank on Oba Femi's name and Braun Breaker's name. Even this week on Raw, when he was just in there by himself with Kathy Kelly, he went out and he said, listen, I have all the respect in the world for Oba Femi. I love Braun Breaker and think that he's incredible. Like there was nothing about what Paul Heyman said, he instead of, and this is a rarity for Paul Heyman, instead of walking into this match and saying the person that I am representing is walking into this match to prove that they are the future and we are going to destroy the person that we're facing. And we're going to prove that they are not the future. He didn't say that at all. He said, I want to find out which one of these two guys is. I said yesterday, the story of the Paul Heyman told us going into a summer, a summer slam and Oba Femi's match with Brock Lesnar was that these are two guys who are both unbeatable, but only one person can be unbeatable.

You can't have two guys that are unbeatable. One of these two guys is going to get beat. And the winner of the match is going to be the one that takes on that that that moniker, the winner of the match is going to be the one that takes on that consideration. And it was Oba Femi. I think that I think that this match deserves to have a clean finish. I think both people benefit even the loser. If you have a match with a clean finish, I think the loser of the clean finish benefits more than if there was a non finish. Okay, so I think that you want to have a clean finish. I think that Oba Femi being crowned this sort of a title for lack of a better term of being unbeatable when he beat Brock Lesnar is not something that you want to mess with. I think Oba Femi has to win this match. I don't think it makes a ton of sense for Oba Femi to not win this match. I think if Oba Femi didn't win this match, then you'd be trying to do that thing where you go, well, Oba Femi's bullet proof. So he can afford to lose.

But what you're doing then is you're not really, you're kind of going, you know, having your cake and eating it too. You're going, we want Oba Femi to be the future, but he's going to lose this match. So we're going to say he's not the future, but we all know he's the future. Don't worry about it. Everybody will be fine. I think Oba Femi's got to win the match. I think Oba Femi's got to beat Braun Breaker. But I think when Oba Femi beats Braun Breaker, the story is going to be that Paul Heyman buys exactly what Paul Heyman is selling that the reason the Paul Heyman cut that promo on RISE because he actually believes it. And that this is ultimately a test for Braun Breaker. Are you the guy? Are you the guy that I said you were? I put you in a position a year and a half ago to start with when we started the vision the night after WrestleMania 41. I put you in this position to be the future of the company. And you've had it all. Are you that guy? And if you're not, maybe I got to cut my losses. I don't think it makes any sense at all for Oba Femi to turn heel.

I don't think it makes any sense at all for Oba Femi to end up with Paul Heyman at all. But I also think that ultimately Braun Breaker doesn't end up with Paul Heyman. I would love to see Braun Breaker on Monday, on Monday, whatever that'll be the seventh. I would love to see Braun Breaker hit the ring and just admit that he lost. Braun Breaker get in that ring and go, you know what? I got work to do. But I put my best in there and I gave I gave Oba Femi the fight of my life. And I hope it was the fight of his two. And I don't make a match where Oba Femi destroys him. Make it competitive. Make it seem like, okay, like Braun Breaker is super impressive. He didn't win this one because that's what ends up being the story. And before anything else happens, I think that in that moment, Braun Breaker kind of turns babyface based on the way he handles the loss. The loss is what makes him a babyface. This is why I say a non-finished doesn't really change anything for anybody, which makes it sort of the match is kind of meaningless.

If the victory for Oba Femi pushes Oba Femi going forward and now nobody's questioning the future of WWE thing and the loss for Braun Breaker actually turns in babyface because of the way he handles it, I think it could be really, really good. And then is one I would love to see Bronson Reed return because the vision is not built to be humble. There's no humility regardless of what Logan Paul song says. There's no humility amongst Logan Paul and Austin theory. So I think that the vision is not going to stand with that, but I think we're all waiting for the inevitable return of Braunston Reed. And assuming he's ready, who knows, I don't know, I don't know what the extent of his injury is or was, but assuming Bronson Reed is physically ready, I would love for Bronson Reed to return the night after Sunday night's main event. And to take out Braun Breaker the same way, I mean, it's the it's the tradition of division, the same way that Braun Breaker took out Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed takes out Braun Breaker and Braun Breaker is thrown out of the vision because he's clearly not the future and the vision becomes more about Bronson Reed and having Logan Paul and Austin theory to watch his back and Bronson Reed being the Paul Haming guy of the group.

You know, that that and then you have a situation where you could either do Braun Breaker versus Bronson Reed or you could start building up to Oba Femi versus Bronson Reed because I don't think it's time to put the title on Oba Femi yet. I think you want to see Oba Femi involved in more stories and I think the Bronbreaker one works for him. And if you bounce out of this with Bronson Reed taking over that mantle, I think you can start to build more towards Bronson Reed. No, but Femi, I'm so curious is what Bronson Reed is going to look like when he gets back. But I think this is going to be one of those instances where he's been gone for so long and was such a force while he was still there. You know, you can tell the story like this is the time that you make good on the fact that Bronson Reed beat Roman Reigns. Who else can say that Bronson Reed beat Roman Reigns. Why did you do that last year? Why did you have Bronson Reed beat Roman Reigns last year? This is why. So that Bronson Reed can step up to Oba Femi and be the guy who beat Roman Reigns. Bronson Reed can step up to Bronson Breaker and be the guy that beat Roman Reigns.

And you can use that energy that Roman Reigns put on him to move him forward. So that's where I kind of like to see that go. And then in what I would presume is going to be the main event you've got Randy, Randy Orton versus Cody Rhodes. I, uh, now I don't think that this is going to be the last time that these guys face each other. You know, I think that there's a bigger story here. But I also think that there's something happening with Cody Rhodes. This story is about Randy Orton not being the best Randy Orton, but being the worst Randy. Cody Rhodes said, I want you to be the old Randy Orton at WrestleMania. And that's why Randy Orton, you know, jumped in. That's why Randy Orton ended up kicking him in the head, but he lost at WrestleMania. And Randy said, that was me being the best Randy Orton. Now I'm going to be the worst Randy Orton. And Cody Rhodes turns around and he says, well, guess what? I'm not the WWE champion anymore. I don't have to be this golden boy.

I don't have the title on me that I believe requires me to act a certain way. I can be the worst version of Cody Rhodes. I can be the one that kills the legend killer because you're the only legend left. And then we get to smack down last week and you have Randy taking shots at Cody's dog taking shots at Cody.
