Let's take time to wait upon the Lord. Let's take time to listen to His voice. Unless the Lord builds a house. They lay very late, so let's take time to wait upon the Lord. Let's take time to wait upon the Lord.

Time is filled with swift transitions. None, none on earth, unmoved, can stand. Build your hope from faith eternal. And then hold, hold on to God on a strange and hand. Cross in Him, and we'll not leave you. What, whatsoever, the years may bring. We're your ugly friends, for thank you. Still, still more closely to Him claim.

Everybody on the whole, hold on to God on a strange and hand. Everybody on the whole, hold on to God on a strange and hand. Build your hope from faith eternal. And then hold, hold on to God on a strange and hand. Listen, cross in Him, He won't leave you. Knowing Lord, what, whatsoever, the years may bring. We're your ugly friends, they will for thank you. Yes, they will. Yeah, you, still more closely to Him claim.

Everybody on the whole, hold on to Him claim. Hold on to God on a strange and hand. Everybody on the whole, hold on to God on a strange and hand. Build your hope from faith eternal. And then hold, hold on to God on a strange and hand. You, hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on to God, His sight changing hand. Hold on to God, His sight changing hand. He won't leave you, He won't forsake you. Hold on to God, His sight changing hand.

I said, for us still, when you can't erase Him. I said, for us still, when you can't erase Him. Trust in the Lord, with all your heart. I said, lead, not until you're old understanding. And only your way, and knowledge God, He will. He will, He will, He will, He will direct your path. Hold on, hold on to God, hold on to God. Hold on to God, I said, He'll save you. If you hold on to God, He will deliver. If you hold on to God, He'll set you free. If you hold on to God, hold on to God, hold on to God. When you burn Him down, when you burn Him down, when you burn Him down.

Hold on to God, don't let go, don't let go of His hand. Don't let go, don't let go, His hand. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on to God. If you hold on to God, hold on to God. If you hold on to God, He will deliver. And then hold, hold on to God, He will change. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hold on to God, He will change in Him, Hallelujah.

I invite you to turn with me to Jude. This morning, we want to look at verses 14 through 16 again, reading from the New King James Version. Now, Enoch, the seven from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, behold, the Lord comes with 10,000 of His saints. To execute judgment on all. To convince all who are ungodly among them of their ungodly deeds, which they have committed in an ungodly way. And of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. These are grumblers, complainants, walking according to their own lusts, and their mouth and their mouth, great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.

Dear Father, our Father, howlode is your name. May your kingdom come. Father, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. By your Holy Spirit, through your Holy Word, speak to our hearts. In Jesus' name. Our society has become well insulated from the reality of hell and the lack of fire. In fact, preachers do not preach about hell. Riders do not write about hell. Evangelists do not even necessarily warn about hell. You see, our sinsick culture thinks everyone is basically good and life of a death is either happy and full of pleasure or life of the death does not exist. Hell is neither political or red, socially acceptable, or even Christian today.

We have become so comfortable with the absence of hell from our evangelism that our superficial gospel has no threats. There are no warnings about eternal torment and eternal suffering. But the Bible is very clear on the reality of hell, the eternal punishment and eternal darkness. Scripture tells us that human history ends with God's judgment on all the ungodly. So let me just give you a broad sweeping oversight into the concept of final judgment. Number one, when we talk about the Lord coming in judgment, we are talking about a special event at a specific time when the Lord comes to in human history and bring about final judgment. Look at Acts 17, verse 31. God has appointed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained.

He has given assurance of this to all by raising him from the dead. Now the man that God raised from the dead is Jesus Christ. He is the man by whom God will judge the world and he has approved the death in which he will do that. You see human history does not just continue along an inevitable line. It does not go on forever. Human history is very brief. And it comes to an end with a specific event at a specific time and inaugurated by a specific man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Turn to Romans chapter 2, verse 5. It talks about sinners who store up wrath. In other words, sinners accumulate guilt and judgment by sin. See, all their sins accumulate or stores up wrath.

Listen to the text. But in accordance with your hardness and your impending heart, you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the death wrath and the revelation of the righteous judgment of God. In verse 16, it says, in the death, the death wrath, when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Again, there is a day of judgment coming. Notice, 2 Peter chapter 2, verse 9. Then the Lord knows how to deliver the galley out of temptations and to reserve the unjust on the punishment for the day of judgment. Again, notice the day of judgment. Revelation 6. In verses 16 and 17, one of the texts, outside the epistle of Jude, we read about God splitting the sky and the stars falling and people saying to the mountains and to the rocks.

Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the land for the great day of his wrath has come. And who is able to stand? So go back to Jude. I want you to look again at verse 6. And Jude, chapter 6, and the angels who did not keep their proper domain but left their own board abode, he has reserved an everlasting change on the darkness for the judgment of the great day. Now, this is not a 24 hour day. This is an error. But it is nonetheless an important time. And of that day and that hour, no man knows. But we must understand that when the Bible talks about the judgment of God, on sin, it is talking ultimately about a special event at a very precise time when the Lord himself will come as judge.

Now, the second thing we need to understand about this judgment is that it will be general and public. You see, we are not talking about living your life and just dying and going to hell and no one knows. The final judgment will be general and it will be public. So then, Romans 14, verse 12 says, each of us shall give account of himself to God. In other words, everyone will. But it is not going to be something hidden and something private. In fact, in Matthew 25, verses 31 and 32, Jesus talks about his own coming. He says, when the Son of man comes in his glory and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd devised as sheep from the goats.

Now, this is very general and this is very public. The day of judgment of all the Ingelley involves the world of sinners in a final tribunal before the throne of God. A more vivid and specific picture is given to us in Revelation 20, verses 11-14. There are John writes, then I saw a great white throne in him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God and books were open and another book was open, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to their works by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it and death and haities delivered up the dead who were in them.

And they were judged each one according to his works. Then death and haities were cast into the elect of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the book of life was cast into the elect of fire. See, there will be a day of judgment which is a specific event at a specific time and it will be general and it will be public. Thirdly, God is the judge. Hebrews 12-23 identifies God as the judge. God possesses the perfect criteria to be the judge because he is perfectly holy, perfectly righteous. All violations of God's law are violations of God's person. Listen to Romans 2, verses 2 and 3. But we know that the judgment of God is an accordance to truth against those who practice such things.

And do you think this, O man, you who judge those who practice such things and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Listen, no one escapes the judgment of God. However, though God is the judge, God has delegated that judgment to Jesus Christ, who is God, the second member of the Godhead. God has determined to delegate his role and his authority as judge to his son. Look at John, chapter 5. Now, I want you to stay with me on these verses because we are building an important foundation. John 5, verse 22. For the Father judge is no one but has committed all judgment to the Son. Now, the Father has determined to commit all judgment to the Son so that the very one who has been despised and rejected by men becomes the judge of men.

The very one who offers himself as the Savior and Redeemer becomes the judge and the executioner. Look down in verse 27. The Father has given him authority to execute judgment also because he is the Son of man. Because he has been identified with humanity and the incarnation because he was in all points tempted as we are. He is the judge who is suited to this responsibility. That means Jesus alone will render judgment as God grants him that privilege. Matthew 16, verse 27. For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels. And then he will warn each according to his works.

The picture here starts to come together. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself will delegate authority from God the Father who is the judge comes at a moment in time to bring about the final devastating judge. The final devastating judge on all the ungodly that is none other than the Son of man who is fitted and suited to make that judgment and who himself once offered himself as Savior. He is now appointed as judge. Listen to Peter in Acts chapter 10, verse 42. And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that it is he who was ordained by God to be judge of the living and the dead. It is Jesus alone. And we saw that already in Acts 17, verse 31, that God has appointed a debt on which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man who he is ordained.

He is given the chance of this by raising him from the debt. See, this is where world history is going. It is headed toward the judgment of God rendered by Jesus Christ at his return. Now, there is a fifth element in this judgment. The promise of judgment is intended as a warning. The promise of judgment is designed by God to produce fear of wrath, which is critical. Jesus put it this way in Matthew 10, verse 28. And do not fear those who killed the body, but cannot kill the soul. But rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

You see, fearing terrorists, fearing cancer, fearing heart disease, fearing a criminal invasion, fearing war is one thing. Fearing eternal damnation is a far more important feat for this reason. The Bible tells us clearly that judgment is a specific event that will occur at a specific time that judgment will be general and public that God is the judge who has delegated his judgment to Jesus Christ. And the warnings which are given throughout scripture are designed by God to produce in us a fear of this judgment, a fear that leads us to repentance and to faith. Just a few more basic things that I want you to think about when you think about judgment. Number six, the stand for judgment is the law. The Holy Law of God is the standard for judgment.

You see, all people are held accountable for obedience to that law. Even though man is deceitful and desperately wicked at heart, even though he cannot keep the law, he is still accountable for the law because he is willfully disobedient. And he seeks not to forgiveness and the grace of God which is available to him. Romans 1, verses 18-22, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all unguiliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth and unrighteousness because what may be known of God is manifest in them. For God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes are clearly seen. Being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead so that they are without excuse, because although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God.

No more thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were dark and listening. All people everywhere have willfully become unrighteous. They have willfully ignored reason which takes them back to God and in Romans chapter 2 conscience which takes them back to God's moral law. So the stand for judgment is the law. That is why there are books as we read in Revelation chapter 20. And in those books are written the records of everyone's sin. You see we all have that record, but the final judgment is made not on the basis of the record of our sins. But on whether or not our names are written in the book of life. You see the names of those in the book of life are not those who never valid the law, but those who accept it the provision for sin in Jesus Christ.

And through faith in God came permanently to seek forgiveness. A seven thing about final judgment is the place of judgment is first honor and then before the heavenly throne of God. Now I do not want to take much time to go through all of this, but the first judgment takes place when Jesus Christ returns. The judgment of the sheep and goats in Matthew 25 is the judgment of the nations that happens on earth when Jesus Christ comes to earth to set up his kingdom. That is the earthly judgment. It starts with all the horrible, devastating, deadly judgments of the earth called the tribulation. The seven year period of time when all hell breaks loose in this world as God unleashes his wrath through demons running them up through the removal of the restripe of the Holy Spirit.

And it culminates in the seal judgment, the tripping judgment, the bold judgment, and then Jesus Christ coming out of heaven on a white horse with judgment with the sword in his mouth to slaughter all that remains of his enemies all over the world. And then they are all brought before his judgment. This is in a sense, a judgment that takes place on earth and then the final judgment at the end of a thousand year kingdom takes place before the throne of God when all the ungodly dead of all the ages are brought back from their place of torment before the throne of God. There are given bodies suited for even more horrible torment and that is the great white throne judgment of Revelation chapter 20. So this is an element of judgment that happens on earth and culminates at the end of time called the millennium kingdom.

And at this point, the whole of the universe disintegrates and a new heaven and a new earth are created and those ungodly are cast out of it forever into the lake of fire and those who belong to God dwell forever in the bliss and joy and holiness of the eternal state. Let me give you one final thought. The sentence of this judgment is eternal hell. It is the judgment of damnation and that is very clear in the language of our Lord Jesus Christ himself. John chapter 5 verses 29 28 and 29. Jesus says, do not marvel at this. For the hour is coming in which all who are in the grace will hear his voice and come forth. Those who have been good, those who have done good to the resurrection of life and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation or damnation.

Jesus describes that place as a weeping, well-ling gnashing of teeth, torment the warm never dies, the blackness of darkness forever. So whatever you read about judgment in the Bible, you are not talking about something that just happens every nine then. Consequential, the law of sowing and reaping. Listen, there is a kind of judgment but the judgment we are looking at now is the judgment that is featured in this epistle and throughout the New Testament. That is a particular judgment that happens at a special time that judgment which is general and public, that judgment in which God delicates his judgment to Jesus Christ. That judgment which is designed to produce and thus now enough fear to drive us to repentance and faith, that judgment which will be a judgment based on our violation of the law of God.

And whether or not we put our trust in Jesus Christ so that those sins could be taken away from us. That judgment which begins on earth and ends before the throne in heaven and that judgment which ends in eternal damnation, this is the final judgment. So how close is it? How close is it? Close it than ever. It is this final judgment that Jude has in mind. So go back to Jude. Jude says in verses 14b and 15a, behold, the Lord comes with 10,000 of his saints to execute judgment on all. That is that final judgment. All in print and it, God rejecting sinners are headed for this final judgment and this eternal torment in heaven.

Even those who have died in centuries past and those who will die before this happens will upon their death be judged and sent out of the presence of God forever. They will in the future be resurrected and given a body suited to the eternal like a fight and they will be brought to that final trial. So in that sense, judgment occurs whenever the sin of dies. Do you remember the words of Hebrews chapter 9 verse 27, the writer says and as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this, the judgment, say in that sense, judgment is personal and private. But the final judgment is general and public. All in print and it, Christ rejecting sinners are headed for this final trial called the great white throne and headed for the lake of fire and eternal torment both of so and body that is suited for an eternal hell.

So the question often comes up. Pastor, does everyone experience the same hell, the same torment? The answer is no because just as there are degrees of service in heaven, based upon faith on his hear, there are going to be degrees of suffering. Now let me show you that from some simple passages Matthew 11 is a good passage. Jesus is addressing some towns around Galilee, we administer. So he says in verse 21 verse 8, Well to you, curses it. Well to you, best idea. Then he comes down to verse 22 and says, but I say to you, listen, it will be more tolerable for tar and sideline in the death judgment than for you.

In other words, it will be worse in hell for the inhabitants of curven and Mercedes. It will be worse for the residents of Capernaum in hell than it was for the inhabitants of that horrific sinful city of tire and silent. It will be worse. Why? Because they were exposed to Jesus Christ, the Son of God, continuing on in verse 24. But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the death judgment than for you, Capernaum. That's amazing. Sodom. That homosexual city, what they want to rape angels, it will be worse for Capernaum, a little town in Galilee, who are Jesus minister. You see, this goes back to the principal, found in Luke chapter 12 verse 48, big. Luke says, Jesus says in Luke 4, everyone to whom much is given from him much is required. And it is the same context of judgment. If you knew God's wrath and you did not act according to that wrath, you get many lashes.

If you did not know God's will, you get fewer lashes. See, the more you know about the gospel, the hotter hell will be. And the less you know, the more tolerable hell will be. But it still hell, it's still torment, it's still gnashing of teeth. So people often ask the question, what about the people who never heard the gospel? Will they be in hell? Yes. Whatever level of relative tolerance, there can be in hell. Their exposure will be less than the expose of those who knew the truth and rejected that truth. One of the passive. Hebrews chapter 10. And this gets us to where we need to be. Hebrews 10, look at verses 28 and 29. Listen, anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Now, people who disobey the law of Moses are going to be punished mercifully. But verse 29 says, of how much worse punishment do you suppose? Will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot? Count the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing. And insult it, the spirit of grace. Go down to verse 31. The writer says, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, particularly after you have trampled the gospel. Particularly if you have known the truth, you abandon the truth. The hottest hell, the severe storm in hell is for those who know the truth and they rejected the truth. And that is what we call apostasy.

To know the truth and to reject the truth. Hell is horrible, no matter who is there. But James warns us. In James chapter 3 verse 1, he says, my brother, let not many of you become teachers knowing that we shall receive a strict adjustment. So follow the thought. If you know nothing about the gospel. If you know very little about the law of God, you still die and go to hell. And in judgment, you still suffer. But if you knew the law of God and you rejected that law, your suffering is greater. If you knew the gospel of Jesus Christ and you reject that, judgment is greater. And if you knew the gospel of Jesus Christ and rejected it, and you have been a false teacher, a perversion and damnable error, your judgment is even greater.

Now since the judgment takes a scripture, our design to warn people, false teachers should be terrified. False teachers should be absolutely scared, stiff of what awaits them. Those apostate false teachers who stay within the frame of the Christianity and pretend to represent God and even Christ and convert the truth to the destruction of souls. Oh, there's will be the severe judgment of all. Do you know that there are many in that category, including the Pharisees who said they represented God, who taught the truth of God, where the people of God, they knew the love God, where God's representatives in the world, Jesus said to them, Matthew 23 verse 13. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you travel land and sea to win one POSILITE, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. Jump down to verses 27 and 28.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you are like whitewash tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. Even so, you outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness and Jesus asks in verse 33, serpents, brood of vipers, how can you escape the condemnation of hell? So the severe judgment of the veneration, given the New Testament, are against false teachers. Those who lead people astray in the name of God, in the name of Jesus Christ, nothing is going to compare to the suffering of the spiritual phonies, the spiritual fakers and the false prophets, the false teachers, the Christian con men, the spiritual fakes who are in priestly God.

The gospel denying theologians, theirs is the worst hell of all. So Jude, our Lord's half brother, was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write this letter and to write about apostasy. So it primarily deals with the judgment of the apostate false teachers. While it is characterized as them, it does so always with reference to judgment. Jude deals with their presence in verse 4. Certain men have crept in unnoticed, ungodly men who turn the grace of God into loonness and deny our only master and Lord Jesus Christ. Jude talks about their presence in the church. Listen at verse 128. These are spots in your love fees, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. These men call them, they are embedded in Christianity.

Jude talks about their character, their allude, their grossly immoral, their defile. Listen at verses 12b to 13. Jude said, their clouds without water, carried about by the winds, late autumn trees without fear, fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots, raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame, wondering stars from whom they were. Jude talks about their influence, they have been very influential, they have managed to lead many a stretch. Jude talks about their doctrine, denied Lordship, being anti-nomian against the law and justifying their evil, but always Jude talks about their judgment. So go back to verse 3. Jude said, beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you, exhorting you to continue earnestly for the faith which was once delivered, which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Then verse 4, for certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turned the grace of our God into loonness and denied the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude talks about the illustration of angels in verse 6, apostate angels, always in reference to judgment. God has reserved for the apostate angels and everlasting chains on the darkness for the judgment of the great devil. Jude talks about the perverted twisted Sodom and Gomorrah, who were exhibited as an example in the undergoing punishment of the eternal Lot 5 in verse 10. Jude talks about these false teachers who speak evil of whatever they do not know and whatever they know naturally like these in these things they corrupt themselves.

Jude says in verse 11, wall to them for they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the era of Ballam for profit and perishing the rebellion of God. Jude says about them in verse 13, for whom is reserved the blackens of darkness forever and here. Jude specifically says in verses 14, b, and 15, behold the Lord comes with 10,000 of his saints to execute judgment and all to convey all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds with which they have committed an ungodly way and all of the harshness things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. And as I said, this should be absolutely terrifying to anyone contemplating being a false teacher. In fact, this little epistle of Jude is so frightening that we must be thankful for verses 1 and 2 because we might contemplate ourselves to be swept away.

Jude had not begun by saying Jude a bond serving of Jesus Christ, a brother of James to those who are called sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ, mercy, peace and love be multiplied to you. This epistle is so terrifying. It is loaded with warning that a Christian reading this might be scared to death that somehow these false teachers would influence him to his eternal damnation. And so Jude began with an important statement about the security of true Christians. We are called, we are sanctified by God the Father and we are preserved in Jesus Christ. We are protected from the influence of false teachers and protected from the judgment that follows on it. So, we are nothing to fear. By engaging these false teachers, verse 3 tells us we must earnestly contend for the faith. We must go into the battle with these apostate false teachers.

We can engage ourselves in the battle for the faith, earnestly contending for this faith against the false teachers and know that they will have no influence on us because we are the call. That is an effectual call, eternal dissalvation. We are the sanctified and we are the preserved. So consequently, we are called to the Father and the Father. We are called to fight in a battle for the truth. The truth is that state. This matter is a call to arms to protect the truth from those who prevent it, pervert it for personal gain to the damnation of their souls. False teachers are destructive. They cannot destroy us but they are destructive and we must fight the battle to protect the truth, freeing nothing from the false teachers and knowing they will end and be judged by Jesus Christ.

I want you to look at the middle of verse 4. Jude said, who long ago were mocked out for this kind of mission. Literally, it says who were long beforehand mocked out for condemnation. Marked out does not mean an ex was put on their forehead. It means their destruction was written about a long time ago. We covered this. We took like those in Old Testament patches that talk about that. There is plenty of writing about the destruction of false teachers and those who fight the truth of God. Their doom has been predicted and the judgment is woven throughout this entire text. This entire letter is a curse on apostate false teachers. There will be judgments on them in this world. Blast them. Who teach their blasphemers doctrines will suffer the greatest in the future.

Now that brings us down to verse 14. But I had to review the text. It's a final judgment. We have already covered verse 14. You can listen to that message but Jude writes, behold the Lord comes with 10,000 of his saints. So here Jude introduces the coming of the Lord in final judgment. Now in these states involving final judgment in verses 15, 14, 15 and 16. So what I want you to do is I want you to see five certainties about divine judgment. First we are told that the Lord will come. That is the first certainty about divine judgment. The Lord will come. So how we told that. Notice Jude puts the prophecy in the past tense. He says, behold the Lord comes. The numeric in stand, it says he has come.

The amplified Bible says, look the Lord came. You see in this prophetic word which was recorded in a nonbiblical prophecy of the name of Enoch, the truth was reiterated. So from time to time a broken clock is right twice a day. You see in this prophecy was spoken as if the judgment was being seen. So judgment was certain. I want you to look at second Peter. Chapter 3. Look at verses 3 through 7. Peter says, knowing this verse. That scoffers will come in the last days. Walking according to their own lust. And saying, where is the promise of his coming? For since the father's fallacy, all things continued as they were from beginning creation.

For this they willfully forget that by the word of God, the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of water. And in the world by which the world that existed, perish, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word are reserved for the fire until the day of judgment and tradition of ungodly men. You see this is the stupidity of sin for men. Jesus is not going to come because he never has. That was what the pre-Fudd people said to know. What are you talking about Noah? It is not going to run. It has never ran. But it did run. And the earth was flooded. And everything only earth died except Noah and his family.

This is the theory of evolution. Everything continues the same. So have you forgotten the flood that destroyed the entire human race? Have you forgotten the catastrophe? All things do not continue as they were from beginning of creation. Peter goes on to talk about what escapes the monk's notice by the word of God. The heavens existed long ago. The earth was formed out of water and by water. Creation was not a result of uniformity. Creation was not evolutionary. Creation was a catastrophe. It was an upheaval beyond the Scripture for God to create the entire universe. And all the life we know owned this earth in a six day period. There is no uniformity. Creation chose us that. Then in verse six Peter says by which the world that then existed perish. Being flooded with water. There is no uniformity after creation.

You have catastrophe at creation and you have catastrophe at the flood. Let down at verse seven. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of the endolumen. Another catastrophe is coming in this time. Not water but fire. And it is reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of one endolumen. And you think it has been a long time. Verse eight says, but beloved do not forget this one thing that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years. And a thousand years as one day. And it has been certainly no more than six thousand years since creation. And that beloved is just six days in God's mind.

And so the end could come very soon and it will come. Why look at verses nine and ten. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise as some count slackness but is long suffering to what else. Not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise and the elements will melt with fervent heat. Both the earth and the works that are in them will burn up. Verse 11. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons are you to be in holy conduct and Godliness? The Lord will come. He will come to just the end of God and it will start in a period of the great tribulation with a pevel on the earth and in the sky.

That gets worse and worse through the seals and the trumpets and the bows. culminated in the return of Jesus Christ. The establishment of His kingdom at the end of which is the destruction of the whole heavens and there as we know them. And the casting of all from the great white throne into eternal hell. It will come. And so we are told that the Lord will come. Secondly, we are told he will not come alone. Look at June, verse 14. Behold, the Lord comes with 10,000 of his sins. He alone is judged but he will be a company with many thousands of his sins. We are saints, believe it. Believe us are saints. We are set apart and we will return with Jesus Christ.

You see, we are pictured in Revelation 19 verse 14 returning with Jesus Christ at His coming. He comes riding out of heaven on a white horse and with him come heaven's armies. Clothe and find linen, white and clean. See as believers. Having been gathered with him for our marriage supper and our time and rewards during the time of tribulation, we come back to this earth at the end. We are returned with Jesus Christ in a holy and glorious display of judgment. So Zachariah 14 verse 5 says, Thus the Lord my God will come. And all the saints with him. But I think it is better though we are coming with him that because this is a judgment to be understood as referred to angels. Because if you read Matthew, you will see how God is going to send his repus in one in the day of judgment to separate the wheat from the tears, the sheep from the goats.

So who are the repus? Again, the angels. The sermon on the second coming in Matthew 24 and 25. Jesus talks about how the angels are going to gather his people from the four corners of the earth. And he is going to come with holy angels out of heaven as well as in judgment. The angels seem to be in view here. In particular, 2nd Thessalonians chapter 1 verses 6 to 8 says, Since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you and to give you and to give you who are troubled rest with us. When the Lord Jesus returned is revealed from heaven with his whole mighty angels and flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God. And on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. See, it says specifically that the Lord comes with his mighty angels.

So the mighty angels are associated with judgment. So Jesus will come and he will not come alone. But the angels, often seen in judgment, even slaying people in the Old Testament will come with him. In Matthew 24 and 25, the picture Jesus Christ as returning with the angels. There is a third certainty that we are told about. We are told the Lord will come and he will not come alone and we are told the purpose of his coming to execute judgment upon all. All means all. Everyone has violated God's law. In fact, the word all are further defined in verse 15b to convict all who are in Godly. So the purpose of his coming is to execute judgment upon all.

Now notice who are the all, all the in Godly. The verb means to convict in the sense of finding guilty. It means to expose the young Godly as guilty. There is no hope of escaping this. You have no defense, no advocate, no lawyer, all crimes against God will be kept to the account of every sinner. There is no advocate. There is no appeal. There is no escape. All of the in Godly, all of the irreverent will be convicted of crimes against God for which the penalty is eternal hell. They will be judged of the record of their sins and the books in sin to hell because although all of us have a record of sins, their names are not written in the book of the life. So consequent, we are told Jesus will come and we are told he will come to execute judgment.

Let me give you one final thing to consider. We are told the reason for that judgment, again in verse 15, to convict all who are ungodly among that of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in the ungodly way. In the ungodly way, in all of the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. There it is. This is the reason because God is righteous and He is going to bring an end to sin. And God is going to bring an end to sinners. God is going to bring an a kingdom of righteousness and ultimately eternal righteousness. Let me give you verse 16 before closing. These are grumblers, complainants, walking according to their own laws and they mouth great swelling words, slaughtering people to gain advantage.

Jude goes back to apostate false teachers described before in verse 15 and he particularly looks at the sins of their mouths, their complainants. They are walking according to their own laws, slaughtering people. These heretics are described as grumblers. It is used to describe in the Septuagint the murmuring of Israel. They grumble against God. They murmur against the truth and living God. The Jews were guilty of this. John chapter 6 verse 41 tells us then the Jews complain about him because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. Grumblers over the truth. Complainers against the Holy Law of God, the Holy will of God and the Holy Word of God. They attacked the Lord by attacking His truth.

They rushed into blasphemy. They run headlong into rebellion against the true God. Jesus says that they find fault. That is a Greek word to describe a person who constantly is disconsent and unsatisfied. They never respectfully submit to God's will. They murmur and complain about the will of God. They resist and hate the will of God. They rebel against the will of God. This is characteristic of our teacher. They will not accept the truth. They never respectfully submit to the Word of God. 2 Peter chapter 2, the way of truth is blasphemed by them. They speak the sceptre words against God and against Christ and against the truth. These apostate false teachers followed their own lustful corruption. 2 Peter chapter 2, but there were also false prophets among the people.

Even as there will be false teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even the nine the Lord who brought them and bring on themselves swift destruction, and many will follow their destructive ways. Because of whom the word, way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness, they will exploit you with deceptive words. They flatter people. Why? Because that is how they get money. They get power. And so they get you to send them your money. Their so-called ministry is always a ministry for profit. But we have covered that. And the only thing left for me to do is to ask, have we ever looked in verse 14 at the word if? And said, yes, he will come. And the who?

He will not come alone. And the why? Because of our unguilinance. And the only remaining question is the word went. Where they answered that question remains with the Father. We do not know when, but we'll leave. It will be sooner than later without warning. The Lord will come and the judgment will begin. The hottest place in hell. And the length of fire remains for the apostate false teachers. So some of you may be sitting on offense. Maybe you do not know if you are truly a Christian or not. Maybe you are worried about a false teacher and their teaching. And how much of it you are being exposed to. So next time we will talk about how to avoid being staying and being tainted by false teachers. That is juicing from verses 17 to the end of the chapter.

So their Father, we have covered a lot of ground. And the teaching is necessary, even if not particularly pleasant. Because you have given us all these warnings because you care for us. And because you are gracious to us and because you are loving. You have given us warning that we might instill it in us from terror and some fear about your judgment. For those of us who are saved. We like Paul in second Corinthians 5 verse 11 knowing the terror of the Lord. We try to persuade men. And for those who have not embraced the Savior. May they soon be so terrified as the worst to be forgiven for sin. To put their trust in Jesus Christ. Who alone can deliver them from judgment. So we pray that you would give us a more of your truth to triumph over false teaching.

And that you would silence the apostates. And that you would unmax them and help us as the fighters for the truth. As a spiritual army to earnestly contend for the faith. Once for all delivered to the sins. To be the warriors for your truth and to protect people from error. To expose the apostate false teachers. So Father, give us boneness and courage and impact. For your glorious truth, we pray in your Son's mighty name. Until next time. This is Pastor Cranese once again. Keep me in your prayer. Pray for one another and be blessed.
