In the dictionary, excellence is defined as "the quality being outstanding or extremely good". However both Juan and Kyrin went a bit deeper in their own personal meanings of the word. For Juan, it meant achieving a high level of competence in a figurative scale (more than 7 out of 10) as well as being known for that competence. For Kyrin, it meant achieving an internal qualitative goal that requires effort to reach (such as achieving fluency in another language).
