shēn dōng | shì | chī | cǎo méi | de | jì jié，

Late winter is the season for eating strawberries.

大量的草莓上市了，

dà liàng | de | cǎo méi | shàng shì | le，

A large number of strawberries have come onto the market.

孩子们很喜欢吃。

hái zi men | hěn | xǐ huān | chī。

Children love eating them very much.

草莓很不易保存，

cǎo méi | hěn | bù | yì | bǎo cún，

Strawberries are not easy to preserve.

很容易被碰坏，

hěn | róng yì | bèi | pèng huài，

They are easily damaged by bumps.

保质期也很短。

bǎo zhì qī | yě | hěn | duǎn。

Their shelf life is also very short.

如果商家卖成熟得正好的草莓，

rú guǒ | shāng jiā | mài | chéng shú | de | zhèng hǎo | de | cǎo méi，

If merchants sell strawberries that are perfectly ripe,

那很快就坏了，

nà | hěn kuài | jiù | huài | le，

they will go bad very quickly.

所以很多商家卖还没完全成熟的草莓，

So many merchants sell strawberries that are not fully ripe.

类似于猕猴桃和芒果的卖法，

similar to the way kiwis and mangoes are sold.

买回家来自己放到熟。

mǎi | huí | jiā | lái | zì jǐ | fàng | dào | shú。

You buy them home and let them ripen on your own.

The strawberries we buy are usually packed in a small basket.

一篮多少钱，

这样就避免了顾客用手去挑选。

This avoids customers picking them by hand.

每次买的里面都不可避免有几个坏了的，

这真的很难保障。
