Jay Towers in the Morning — Stop Buying Because Too Expensive. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
00We've heard this a lot like inflation and gas prices are the things you stop buying because the price has gone up too high. And I looked at some of these. I feel like these are some of the things that people always say they stop buying and they still buy. Okay. The number one thing is beer at a concert. Well, first of all, concert tickets are really expensive to begin with. Yeah. So if you're going to a concert, that's inexpensive and I plus beer at the concert. It's like 21 bucks for a beer. I love the things at the things that have gone up in price were nothing like some things have to go up in price because things got better. Right. So they have to cost more. But some things like I mentioned this about renewing your driver's license. Like what that used to be and what it is now, yet nothing about it changed. Same with going to concerts, same with buying the same beer. Nothing changed. You're not getting more. It's just they can get it out of you because they know that you'll pay it. Right. That's not necessarily a good reason for prices to go up. Concert tickets themselves, we talked about that red meat, I guess, is people set up. But we're not buying red meat. It's just too expensive. Oh, well, you should try to do that anyway.
03Yeah. It's just, you know, it's hard on the system. Pass food, I don't know. It seems like the meat seems to be jammed every day and drive through. You know what though, McDonald's, I think all of these places are trying to bring down the price a little bit. Didn't we just do a story in the headlines the other day that McDonald's is going to have like a $3 dollar dollar category? Yeah. Yeah. Because we need that. We're going to Taco Bell, ordering two items and it being $14. I mean, that's crazy. It seems like a lot. It was when I was out of work for that period of time. That was the first thing that went though. Any outside eating. Right. Yeah. Computer parts. Yeah. I don't know. Gas station coffee. That's not usually crazy. Is a gas station coffee is expensive? I think coffee coffee is expensive. I mean, coffee drinks, you know, like a Starbucks or something. Gas station coffee is where you go now. Right. You leave the coffee places and go to the gas station. That's right. Yeah. Netflix is on there. Coca-Cola. Too expensive. Have you noticed? I don't pay attention. Wouldn't matter. No.
03No. Oh, and by the way, I mean, they've got that great deal going on. I mean, that's the most exciting thing that happened in this week. This is the one where you buy two 12 packs and you get three free. You essentially get five 12 packs of Coke for under 30 times. And how many are you putting in your card all at once? So I did it twice so far. So there's eight 12 packs in my storage room because that I can't not do that every time I'm in Kroger. Stopped up for winter? What's going on? It would be nice if I was. But you're sucking up for May. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. Stopped up for May. They say like good chocolate cereal and nail salon services are all in that list as well. Yeah. If you don't have any money, you're not getting your nails done. They've got great. I see a lot of people now are using press on nails. It's a lot cheaper. They look good. I did it for years. It's kiss KISS. KISS is the brand and the little glue and those nails will stay because we were doing
04the TV show and I didn't have time to go to a nail salon that I had to have good nails every day. What was the first Lee press on nails? Yeah. One of those to commercial. I think they were press on though. These are actual glue and yeah.
