They nabbed a man in his 50s under the Firearms Act, grilled him, then cut him loose on bail, while they dig deeper. This raid was just one piece of a massive two-day sweep, called Operation Rimini Across Stockport, by Greater Manchester Police. In Stockport Town Center, officers ran high visibility patrols, making arrests left and right, four folks for shoplifting, classy drugs, and dodging. Vehicle details, plus one recall to prison. They stopped five cars, ding two drivers for offences, and seized one with fake plates, no insurance, and expired MOT from three years back, and busted tires. They even located a high-risk missing child at Stockport Interchange, keeping that vulnerable kid safe. Police are now verifying if those weapons were legal, and Inspector Jason Holmwood says the op proves how targeted policing tackles crime, curbs, anti-social vibes, and shields residents.
