The thing about AI for business, it may not automatically fit the way your business works. At IBM, we've seen this firsthand. But by embedding AI across HR, IT, and procurement processes, we've reduced cost by millions, slash repetitive tasks, and free thousands of hours for strategic work. Now we're helping companies get smarter by putting AI where it actually pays off. Deep in the work that moves the business. Let's create smarter business. IBM. Bloomberg Audio Studios. Podcasts, radio, news. The Stock Movers Report. Your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg data. Now let's look at some of the stocks on the move today here in Europe. I'm Caroline Hepkin, and we joined by Bloomberg aboard a clone malade to take us through the names today. Let's start with Novartis, some drug trial disappointment, how our investors reacting. Well, quite negatively.

So this is another setback for Novartis with a second trial disappointment within the space of a week. So a few days ago, it stopped trials of an experimental cell therapy for autoimmune diseases after three patients died. And then late on Friday, it said that it's heart drug. That had blockbuster potential actually did not translate into fewer deaths, heart attacks, antirrokes, compared with the placebo. So this is two of setbacks within within the space of a week. As I mentioned, and that's of course quite important for Novartis given that a lot of its best selling medicines are facing generic competition. And so it really doesn't need to grow that pipeline again. The CEO had said previously that some successful late stage trials could allow the company to raise its forecast for cells growth through to 2030. But obviously it does need those trials to be successful. And the next big pipeline test is going to be an experimental injection that's designed to tackle the genetic cause of DM1, which is a muscle wasting disease, rather than just treating the symptoms.

And so this is going to be a very important trial. It's also the centerpiece of its 12 billion dollar acquisition of a validity. So that's going to be very important. The success of that drug will be key for the outlook and another disappointment could of course weigh massively on the shares as it has done for those two setbacks over the last week. Okay. So that's on Novartis. Next is Nordex. Who are they? What's driving them move? Yes. Nordex is a wind turbine company and it got upgraded by a bank of America today. So Anlist said that they see a significant earnings upgrades ahead of following a period of quite significant under performance. So Anlist said that there was further growth in Germany. There was also a growth in orders from the US and a stable supply chain, which all of these are positive for the company. They also said that the recent underperformance in the shares has been excessive and that the prospects are not reflected in the valuation.

And we are seeing Nordex kind of emerging from a difficult period for the wind industry in general. You know, it seems that all of the big names in that sector like West Aspen or Stead as well are sort of getting back on track now and benefiting from a solid sort of order backlog and order momentum after where had been a bit of a difficult time. Over 2024 2025. Okay. So that from Nordex and finally a boost for Swetek, which is riding the tech way. There aren't many tech names in Europe, but this one. Yeah, exactly. So Swetek and then other names within the semiconductor air industry are doing well today like Nokia, and then the other Infinian, ST Micro. And that follows a pretty good session from Asian tech stocks as well. And so the main reason for this air optimism today is the launch of OpenAI's GPT 6 Astra that is new model. And the company has positioned this new model as a key push towards artificial general intelligence or AGI, which refers to a software that outperforms humans at a wide range of tasks.

And AGI is considered to be a really key milestone in AI development, but it has many different definitions. No one can really agree on what exactly it means. And it's but regardless of that we are seeing this move towards this quite important ambition within the air industry sort of reviving this AI trade today in Swetek and those names that I mentioned have really benefiting from that as kind of key suppliers of those components of data centers and semiconductor. And so you conduct us in everything. So we're seeing the tech very much in the green today in Europe. This stock movers report from Bloomberg Radio. Check back with us throughout the day for the latest round up of companies making news on Wall Street.
