Stellantis Recalls 44K Vehicles Due to Fire Risk

The problem comes from two little space between the gas filter pipe and the belt starter generator part. In wet weather, water can leak into the engine bay, raising a fire risk. Stellantis is jumping on this voluntarily, reaching out to owners for free dealer fixes right away. Owners might feel uneasy, but no fires reported yet. This piles on troubles for Stellantis, who took a 22 billion euro hit in February after overhyping the electric vehicle switch. They scrapped their RAM 1500 battery electric truck plans and are dumping a stake in their Canadian battery plant.
