0:00On March 22, Steve McClendon, a former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle, just got named head coach at Carroll High School in Ozark, Alabama. That's his old high school stomping grounds. The school made the announcement on Instagram, marking a big step in his coaching journey after a solid NFL run. McClendon started with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent back in 2009 after playing college ball at Troy. He spent his rookie year mostly on the practice squad, then broken to games in 2010. By his later years, there through 2016, he racked up tackles, sacks, and starts, proving himself as a reliable nose tackle. After leaving Pittsburgh, he played for the New York Jets for five seasons until 2020, then got traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
