Steelers Sign CB Jamel Dean, Boosting Secondary

They signed Corner Bag Jamel Dean, formerly with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to a three-year contract worth $36,750,000. This move follows their trade for White receiver Michael Pittman Jr. from the Indianapolis Colts. It's the team's first outside free-age in addition this off-season. Dean adds proven talent to the roster. He was part of the Buccaneers Super Bowl win in 2020 and has stayed reliable over the past seven seasons, with 11 career interceptions. In 2025, he delivered his strongest year, limiting targeted passes to a 41.3 passer rating and grabbing three picks while holding, catches to just 43%. Now Dean bolsters an already deep cornerback group alongside Joey Porter Jr., Asante Samuel, Jalen Ramsey, and Brandon Eccles, setting up a tough secondary for Pittsburgh.
