It would let teams hold one video or phone call up to one hour long, with as many as five upcoming free agents during the two-day window right before. The new league year starts. This proposal also allows teams to set up travel plans once a deal is in place. Before this, clubs can only talk to certified agents or players without representation. If passed, an agent would still need to join any call with a representative player. The Steelers say the setup is competitively fair for everyone involved. It shakes up how teams connect during that key negotiation time, potentially speeding up agreements. Only two team proposals made it to the discussion stage this year. The other comes from their AFC North rivals, the Cleveland Browns. League owners will debate these ideas at the meeting from March 29th to April 1st.
