Steelers Holding Breath for Rodgers Decision

Steelers owner Art Rooney the second dropped the latest on NFL Network this week, saying they've been chatting regular with Rogers and his camp, expecting a decision in the next few weeks, even though it was supposed to wrap up before the draft. Back in late March, Rooney figured it had happened pre-draft, but reports from the athletics say the timeline keeps shifting, leaving the team's top brass. Unsure about his plans for next season. To cover their bases, they slapped a rare ride of first refusal tender on him Monday, mainly to snag a compensatory draft pick if he bounces. Elsewhere, though Rooney says they don't see that coming and looped in Rogers ahead of time. Rookie minicamp hits May 8th through 10th, OTA's kickoff May 18th, mandatory minicamp June 2nd, and last year he signed June 7th. Right before that, so history might repeat as Steelers gear up either way.
