Aaron Rogers hasn't committed to coming back after his stint with the team. Now, Geno Smith joins the mix as a free agent following his release by the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders had a rough season with Smith under center. They win two wins and 13 losses in 2025 with him throwing a league high 17 interceptions. That came after they traded for him when they hired a new coach. Smith bounced back strong earlier in his career with the Seattle Seahawks. Over three seasons there, he started 27 games, 122 and through 71 touchdowns against just 35 picks. Meanwhile, the Steelers have leaned on veteran free agents lately. They signed Russell Wilson before the 2024 season and Rogers the next year. It fits that mold as a proven option. Kyla Murray is also available after the Arizona Cardinals let him go.
