STATEMENT: Orlando Magic’s Jase Richardson SHINES, Raises Expectations for Next Season

The Orlando Magic scored another Summer League victory as Jase Richardson had his standout moment with 25 points.

Richardson has been solid throughout Summer League as he has spent most of his time focusing on being a better leader and manager on the floor. He has been focused on the intangible skills that will get him playing time.

The breakout game Wednesday was a sign of how he has accomplished all of those things and can still dominate a Summer League game with his scoring and shot creation. Richardson has had a stellar Summer League run.

So too have the Magic as they moved to 3-1 and remain in the hunt for the Summer League playoffs. They continue to improve at all facets, especially their defense which has increased its pressure and comfort. It is a good sign of the way the team's staff coaches and how the Magic might translate in the fall.

Still, nobody can escape this team's ghosts. The Magic led by 30 and watched their lead dwindle down to four points late. They did not finish the game even in Summer League. Game 6 will weigh heavily on this team and it is a clue to how maturity will be the theme for their season.
