Hello and welcome to your go-to Detroit Pissons podcast, The Pissons Pulse. Co-hosted by me, Bryce Simon of Motor City Hoops. And I'm Ari Sanco for the second Pissons Beat Rider in Flippy Troy Free Press. And of course we're always blessed to be joined by a producer, West Davenport. If you are not listening to West and Robbie over on the pin down on the Detroit Bad Boys YouTube channel, you absolutely should be. Make sure you're reading all Detroit Bad Boys work over on their website. But of course, make sure you are subscribed to the Detroit Free Press, reading all of them Ari Sancofas work and the Motor City Hoops sub-sac. Even though there's not a whole lot of content going out right now, it is a free sub-sac. So you might as well go ahead and subscribe. So that way when the season starts, you are already getting all of that. I do game analysis, video breakdowns, all of those things.

But if you are here with us, livers, a little bit later than normal on a Wednesday night. Maybe some people watching the first NFL game of the season. I don't even know what the score is. I'm worried you know who's winning this game right now. No, I do not. I have not been, I have not been to know this one. Oh, can I pay for you? It's our leading to Seahawks 7-0. And there's three or four left in the second quarter. I don't know how strong the crossover between Pissons fans, Seahawks and Patriots is, but I'm sure they're soft. Well, I'm just assuming that it's a general like just sports fans that are like, hey, they've been waiting for the NFL to start. And so they're, they figure you can, they can listen to the Pissons post later. But if you are with us live or watching YouTube after the fact, we have our nice spread sheets up on the screen that West put together for us. So you will be able to see this update live as we go throughout our stat line prediction episode. This is an annual thing that we do probably three or four years now, where we are going to predict the stats of, it's actually going to end up being every player currently on the roster.

And one thing to note off the top, Omari as you, Wes and I or me, you, me, you, Wes, Wes, you, me, whatever it's supposed to be, as we discussed yesterday, we will not end at 117 points or whatever it is, okay, because not every player plays 82 games. So if you go to basketball reference and you add up all of the points per game from last year, it's like a hundred. I can't see it on my screen, but it's all three and a half. Yeah, 163 and a half. It's not the 117. So if you're listening to this and you're going, those players can't all average that they're going to, they won't average 150 points a game. That's what we did because again, not every player is going to play 82 games. So in a game, 10 games where Kate Cunningham doesn't play, somebody else does score a whole lot more points. And that boosts their average. And it's the same across the board. And so our numbers are going to reflect that. And we will do all 16 players currently on the roster, O2.

Yeah, so we're going 16 instead of 15, because they're currently 16 guys. Obviously, they'll have to get 15 before the season starts. But that's what the roster is. So we're just going to deal with that. And I feel like it's always sort of a goofy game with ballparking it without overdoing it, because you naturally want to assume that every player will improve. So you add a point here at two points there. And then by the end of it, you have the team score on like 30 more points that you did to your prior. And it's like, that's probably not real. So I feel like it's a fun thought experiment to at least weigh potential improvement versus just the natural give and take of having a 15 man roster. And I think with this team, like we saw last year, just from a death standpoint, everybody's going to play a role at some point. But like you said, it's just it's not dispersed evenly over the course of an 82 game season. So I feel like in the past, we've done like the top 10 and just tried to ballpark it to the point we have. But it sees that we've kind of switched it up year by year. I don't know if there's probably a better way we could be more exact with it. And we just haven't quite gotten there yet.

But hopefully after we go through this experiment or exercise, whatever you want to call it, it'll be within realistic boundaries because they do have a chance to be a lot better offensively, right? So I think you can overshoot that 163 a little bit. And it's still probably be within the ballpark where they end up last year. So we'll see how we do. Before we get going, YouTube user does I appreciate this. Ask how the football team that I help coach is doing. We lost our first game this this past Friday. We played one of the best teams in the state. Very proud of how the guys played, played very hard. Did a lot of really good things. Did not win. Have another big game this Friday. We'll see if we can get our first win of the season. It's been very hot out here. So we've really tried to manage that. We actually practiced in the morning all last week and then pushed the game time back in hour so that that was not as much of a factor. So yeah, I appreciate you asking that YouTube user. But let's get started. Might as well start with Cade Cunningham, right? The face of the franchise. Oh, too. How do you want to do this? You want me to straddle off my numbers?

Do you want to go back and forth? You're starting with points for game. Yeah, you can go ahead and rattle them off. Like if you want to follow along at home, just kind of seeing what they averaged last season you can. But we could probably read off their averages last year and then compare, you know, just though people have what perspective on this is higher. Is this lower? But yeah, this is dive right in the game. That's probably the easiest way to do it. Also, so I guess I kind of chose to do this. I didn't even ask Omari in what's if they were okay with this or I apologize to them. We're going to do points for game, rebounds for game. Assist per game, steals for game, blocks per game. The big five. But then we are also going to do three point make. So no percentages or anything like that. But just I thought total number of three point makes would be a fun one. So last year, Kate Cunningham averaged 23.9 points, five and a half rebounds, 9.9 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.8 blocks and made a total of 125 threes. So, oh, too, my stat prediction for Kate Cunningham this year

is 25 points per game, five rebounds per game, 10 assists per game. So 25, 10 and five with one steal and one block and 153 point makes. So a little bit of growth across the board for Kate Cunningham. I guess I brought his steals down and his blocks up just a little bit. Yeah, we're pretty similar. I think I went a little bit above you across the board, but still pretty close. I have 25 points, six rebounds, 10 and a half assists. Oh, okay. He was at 1.4 steals last year. So I made tape that 1.5 steals and then a block. And then I went 160. Okay. Sleep runners made. You went 150. So we both saw a slight increase, 30, 40 more threes over the course of the season. Pretty modest, but I think we both expect him to maybe take a few more or even if it's around the same volume, at least like down a few more of them. Yeah. I mean, so last year he shot 34% from three in the regular season.

Obviously was really good in the playoffs where to your point, the volume, well, I don't know if the volume went up. His minutes went up. So that might, the actual three point rate. Let me get to the advanced numbers here. So it was 31. And no, the three point attempt rate did go up in the playoffs, but shot 40% from the three point line in the playoffs. I think more than anything, oh, too, you know, he took almost six again last year. I don't think that's going to jump a lot. I do think he'll shoot a little bit better percentage. So that's where, and if he just plays a few more games, you know, he only played 64 games last year, even though he did end up eligible for post season awards. And so if he plays 70 games this year, I think that probably gets him to that 150 number that we're both relatively projecting. Just I'll rattle this off real quick. So the Pistons Pulse projection is 25 points, five and a half rebounds, 10.25 assists, 1.25 steals one block with 155 three point makes. You feel good about that? I feel really good about that. And it wouldn't shock me after three partners or even higher.

Just because if he does, that's just playoff volume. And maybe he throws it from 170, 175. But just two five years, we just have not seen him be a super high volume guy. So I just tried to split the difference between maybe he creeps up to about 37 38. But I don't see him being like a J'mah Murray level volume type guy. 160 feels like a good range for him. All right, let's get this moving. And we can come back and talk about players as we go throughout. We're going to move to a Sar Thompson. And last season a Sar average just under 10 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, two steals, 0.9 blocks, and made six three pointers. My projections, 0, 2, 12 points for game, eight rebounds, five assists. So 12, 8 and 5 for a Sar Thompson. I have been making only 10 three pointers all season. I am not in the boat that he is going to come back with a three point jumper this year. I stayed at two steals per game and took him up to one block per game.

So 12, 8, 5, 2 and 1 for a Sar Thompson for me. Okay, we're a little bit different here. Okay, I love it. Yeah, I had set in a half points, six rebounds, three assists about, I set 2.3 still, so let's just say 2.5, 2.3 folk, a little arbitrary, just say 2.5, and a block. And then I had him knocking down 33 pointers. Oh, okay. Wow. So he at six last year, I did 30. And I arrived at 30 because he locked down 21 when he was a rookie and he took more as a rookie and he's got to decline every year's sits. But I just figured a little bit more volume, maybe slight improvement. And he also averaged like, I think 27 minutes last year. Like I think he was playing 28 or fewer minutes. So even just in playing a little bit more, I think you can knock it on a few more three pointers. So I mean, 30 is pretty modest. If you don't knock down 10, I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, I feel like that's pretty hard to ballpark. But if he knocked down 21 as a rookie, with a little bit more volume, a little bit more improvement,

I think you can't 30 this year. So interesting. I feel like I had him taking a little bit more of a jump than you. I'm not saying that you don't think a star is going to be awesome. This year, I know that how we both feel about a star. I think for me, it was a little bit like, okay, we got to see a little bit of a scoring jump. Not a massive one, but a little bit of one. I do now that I look at it, my rebounds are kind of high. I don't necessarily know where that came into play there. But I do feel good about it. And then I think I'm buying a little bit into them running some more offense through him in terms of whether it's out of the short roll or with the ball in his hands or whatever. So that's why my assist went up as well. So I mean, I assume you're expecting the same impact from a star, but maybe not necessarily a huge statistical jump in regards to those things. Yeah, I think he'll be better. I just think the way of star attacks the game, he's never going to be a guy with like the numbers. Outside of the stilts and blocks, like really, really pop. And I guess his rebounds, since like six rebounds for a wing is really good, obviously.

Like I think he'll improve, you know, a fish is he wise. I think he can become a more efficient passer. Maybe get that. It's just trying to be ratio above two one. And I think we'll see improvements across the board. I just don't know if he'll ever be a guy that's 13. 12 points per game, I think, is within reason for him to be. It's just worse. So, you know, to extent, can you improve without the numbers, maybe skewing too far one way or another? I think just from a shot volume standpoint, if they're more shots available in the offense, some of those go to John Collins, some of those go to K. Maybe there's a little bit more for Duran. It's going to be spread around. But we're not super far off. Like he could have his story even 13 points. Like I wouldn't say that. That's not outside of a reasonable guess for him at all. He just shrank me as a guy where you're always going to have to watch him to see the fore impact. It's never going to be just looking at the stats and being like, oh, 10 points again, like whatever. Like there could be a lot of improvement. I think within that. So the official Pistons Pulse prediction is 11.25 points, seven rebounds, four assists, 20 made threes,

2.25 steals and one block. A lot of defensive disruption. So far in our season predictions. I think that kind of speaks to where we feel like Detroit wants to be on the defensive end. Next up is Jalen Duran. Just another we all expect Jalen Duran to be on this team. Next season, realize that we are getting closer and closer to something kind of needing to happen or most likely to happen. Understand all of that. But we are just going to work under the assumption that Jalen Duran Oz is on the Detroit Pistons next year or this year. Last season, the average 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, two assists made no threes and then average, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks. Oh, two, where did you go with Jalen Duran's stats this season? Yeah, just a slight improvement. Across the board, 21 points, 11 rebounds, two and a half assists, one steal, one block, and two three pointers made because that's what's up to there. Maybe he is too. I don't know. I have Jalen Duran at 20 points,

keeping him right around where he was last year, 11 rebounds, three assists. I am keeping him at 0.3 point makes and then one steal and I actually kept him at 0.8 blocks. I went a little, you know, I guess to give it away a little bit. I went very heavy on the steals this season for the Pistons. That number is, I think, going to end up very high compared to even last year where they led the NBA. I think I ended up a little bit lower on the blocks. But we were roughly the same then across the board with our numbers, a slight growth with the scoring. I think the biggest takeaway probably hero too is both of us believe we will see the Jalen Duran of last regular season. We don't anticipate what we saw in the playoffs being something that we see coming back in the regular season this year. Yeah, the playoffs are just a different environment. The scouting is different. Like it's just different. You know, I think Duran would be better. Just some of the stuff he did last year, stuff that stuff to predict, just about how this was comfortable.

He looked just into paint. His overall touch, timing, feel, balance, you know, I expect some of that to carry over. I would reciprocise him, take a few more jumpers. But Willie was stood out last year as just his efficiency, right? To score 20 a game with 65% shooting. It's just getting a feel for how much more shot volume could potentially be there for him. So 21 is, I mean, that's a very small increase in scoring. But it wouldn't surprise me if there were a few more shots in the office for him just because if he's going to score 20 a 65% then, you know, maybe there's some room there for him to grow. So it wouldn't surprise you if the point is to know that being a bit higher. That's kind of where you get into the pressure pool of this exercise because you like part of he wanted to put in 20 big points for Jalen Duran. But then it's like 48 minutes, right? So like everybody can't score more points. So 21 felt safe. But I do think he'll take a never step for it next season. That's an offensive player. All right, we're going to go and take a break there. I think, you know, that's kind of what people would call. I don't know. The big three of this team right now or whatever.

We will get into what kind of projects to round out the starting lineup of John Collins, Duncan Robinson. I guess potentially Isaiah Joe in that role and continue to move through the roster right after this. All right, we are back with segment two. And we're past the big three. Going to get into the rest of the starters and the core row players. First name, one of the lists, I think, will be really fun because it's I'm curious to see if just where we arrive as far as his row, shot volume, high impacts, the game in other areas. John Collins, the presumptive starting for last season. Pull my numbers up real quick. John Collins averaged 13.6 points. 5.3 rebounds, one assist, 0.9 steals, 0.7 blocks. And he knocked down 89 three pointers.

And I believe the 89 was a career high. Bryce, where do you see John Collins following the season? Yeah, so not a whole lot different to be quite honest. I have him at 14 points, five rebounds, one assist. I do have him making 103s. That might be the spot where I'm most aggressive, I guess, with his numbers. And again, one steal and then 0.8 blocks. So another player on this team that I expect to be pretty disruptive on the defensive end. Yeah, I'm not too far off. I actually went a little bit lower in point. I'm at 13 points, five rebounds, one assist, 0.9 steals, 0.8 blocks. But I did put him down for 110 three points. Okay. And so we both have him cracking 100 make 3s for the first time in his career, which he's kind of trinity that way anyway. Like last year 89 was his career high. Like I don't I don't see the climbing form. He's going to take three as next season. I couldn't beat him to take three as next season. And his numbers really are pretty close to what Tobias averts to.

I don't have the highest stats right in front of me. But you got to put them into that same role. And I think the numbers overall look pretty similar as well. Yeah, I mean, Tobias last year in the rego season, average 13 points, five rebounds to an emphasis. Obviously a little bit more with a player. Yeah. Yeah, for Tobias 0.9 steals 0.4 blocks. So I expect John Collins to provide a little bit more rim protection. I wonder if some of the defensive disruption is more in this piston's defensive system and style and what they really emphasize. And then Tobias made 82 threes in 63 games play it last year at 37%. I mean, I think there's a world where he is under 100. But if Collins plays 70 games or so, I think it's reasonable. Because I do think he's going to have to be a guy that takes those shots. You can't be in the starting lineup with the Sardin Thompson and Jalen Durin and always be cutting to the rim or playing in the dunker spot. He's going to have to be in the weak side corner and be able to knock down some catching shoot threes. So. And he says one of the off-ball guy too,

whereas Tobias was a little bit more of an on-ball creator type. So, you know, like Tobias may catch the ball in the corner on the wing, but he may take a step in. He may look for something else. I just see John Collins being more of a decisive play finisher. So you may just get work threes out of that as well. Just because you're probably not going to want to see John Collins pass up. So when he opened threes, like if you're open there, that's probably the best shot you're going to get. So 100 feels like a safe guess for him. But like you said, it could be a little bit lower just putting on his exact row. Next up is I guess what we'll call the starting too guard for this team. I know that's probably a conversation. We're going to have a lot over the next few weeks. So don't get Robinson 12.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.3 blocks last year, with 220 made three pointers. Amari, I went 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, half a steel, 0.1 blocks. This is a little bit of a contradiction now that I think about it a little bit more, but I actually still had him at 225 threes.

I know he's a guy that doesn't score a lot inside the three-point line. He only made 98 two pointers last year, but I do think he's a guy that's going to be relied upon to space the floor and knock down threes again. But I do wonder if we see his role just a little bit less because of a couple players we'll talk about in just a little bit. Yeah, I mean, that's pretty much where I didn't go from last season. 12.3 rebounds, 2 assists, half a steel, half a block. I guess half a block. I'm rounding up, it'll probably be like 0.2 or 0.3. And 220 made three pointers. I just think his role is going to be pretty similar. I think the shot volume is going to be pretty similar. The guy we're going to talk about next Isaiah Joe. I think the question really is how much are they staggered and how much do they overlap? But I don't necessarily see Isaiah Joe taking away minutes from ducking Robinson, right? Like I think it's going to be pretty similar. And they're going to need that same shot volume from them regardless. So I think we're both... I had a couple more points than you, but I mean overall, we're pretty similar. Yeah, I could give those numbers again, but I had them at...

Yeah, 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, half a steel, half a block, 220 made three pointers. I did not leave the official... Read the official Pistons Pulse prediction for Colin. So we were at 13.5 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assists, 105 made 3s, just under a steel and 0.8 blocks. And Duncan Robinson, we ended up at 11 points per game, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 222 made 3s, which was right about where he was at last year, half a steel and 0.3 blocks, which leads us to... I know a player that it seems like... I don't know if I want to say a lot of fans, but it seems like there are fans that are definitely excited about the addition of Isaiah Joe. I know it's a player that we even talked about before this happened. Sean says, hot take, Isaiah Joe averaged 17 points. Michael, that is a hot play. I appreciate it. It's been giving us... Yes, Michael's been given his numbers throughout the entire episode thus far. We really appreciate that. And if you do, like tweet at us, DM us, let us know.

If you go through the exercise, Michael has Isaiah Joe at 9.5 points, 2 rebounds, 1.5 assists in 20 minutes. Last year, Isaiah Joe, obviously for the thunder, 11 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.2 blocks, 180 made 3s. Omari, where did you land with Isaiah Joe? I basically took the same approach as Duncan Robinson and just kind of copied and paced it from last year. 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.2 blocks, and 180 made 3 pointers. In my mind, if Duncan Robinson plays 28 minutes, Isaiah Joe is probably somewhere between 20 and 23. And I'll just take a shot, volumes probably going to be around the same. I think it's going to be pretty similar. It's okay to see tough to project a row with Isaiah, obviously the free season or the entire rotation or whatnot. But we've been pretty aligned on the 3.2, so I'm curious to see if you have them higher, lower, or where you see that falling. But from be pretty similar for what you did for OKC last year.

Yes, I had Joe at 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 steal, again, as I stay with that trend, and 0.1 blocks. And then I did have him a little bit higher at 200 made 3s. And so that made 3s number is one that's going to be really interesting when we get to the end. Right now, you have projected 17 more than me. Obviously, we still have quite a few players. I know my total number ended up higher than last year's. But I think they combined. I think Duncan and Isaiah Joe combined for around 400. So you can split that however you want. But that's my guess for next season is that they end up around 400 combined. So our official Episodes pulse prediction is Isaiah, Joe at 10 and a half points, 2 and a half rebounds, 1.25 assists, not expecting a whole lot of playmaking, 190, 3s, 0.75 steals, 0.15 blocks. I do wonder again, if we see him be a little bit disruptive for this team considering what they emphasize. Next up is Javante Green because Javante Green played 82 games last year for this team.

He averaged 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.7 assists. He made 94 3s, had 1.2 steals as we continue to talk about that, and 0.3 blocks. I will admit Javante Green is not necessarily in what I would project to be the 10 man rotation, and so my numbers will reflect that, but I'm interested where yours are at. Yeah, again, I think Javante Green is a guy, but he's not really a stats guy. His impact's not going to necessarily be in a raw number. So he'll give you 15, 20 points here and there, but Adam has 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 steal, 0.2 blocks, and then 93 pointers made. So I don't know if he has quite the same minutes volume as last season, just because you're starting a year off with Danis. You've got Isaiah Joanne there, you've got Epochal, A Corey, you've got some competition at that, I guess, Quote 2 or whatever you want to call it. A Corey is more of a 1, but I'm curious to see who they put next to him. So just slight, since it's a good decrease, but he'll still be around where he was last year.

I think similar level of impact, still going to take a lot of cornered 3s. All that's just still be around the same. So I ended up with Javante Green at 5 points, 2 rebounds, half an assist. I still had him at 1 steal because I do think whenever he plays, he is going to be aggressive defensively and he is super aggressive in past. He's one of the best stills guys in the league, like just to get that. It was like him, Ron, a Sarpaw Reid, and I'm forgetting somebody who were like all like top, two over 13. Sure. Stills great. Yeah, that was a Sarpaw, and Javante, Paul Reid, and I'm forgetting somebody. But they have five guys last year who ranked pretty highly in. Javante was one of those guys. Yeah, and then I only had him at 53s. And again, that kind of reflects more where I think he's going to be in the rotation. That could be wrong. You know, like it doesn't take a whole lot to see him be in the rotation and being getting consistent minutes as West points out. You know, he played all 82 games for this team last year. So there's a real world where that's possible.

But it's blocks 0.5. Sorry, 0.5 blocks for Javante. So our official prediction for Javante Green, five and a half points, two rebounds, 0.75 assists would be at 73s. This is probably the biggest gap we have so far in terms of the three point makes. We both agreed on a steal and then 0.35 blocks. So we are through Kate Cunningham, a Sartonson, Jalen Durin. We have also discussed John Collins, Duncan Robinson, Isaiah, Joe Javante Green. We have a lot of players to get through still, including Ron Holland, the backup big man Paul Reed. At least one of these guys, Dana Jenkins, our book of Corey is going to be a backup guard for this team. And then some other veterans like Kevin Herder, Torian Prince. And then I think some guys that we mostly would agree, like Chas Linear, Tollou Smith, Gary Harris, probably not, sold the in the rotation, but just to balance out our numbers. We will go through those guys as well. But we will start off with Ron Holland right after we take this short break.

All right. We are back with segment three. I'm curious to see where we end up on Ron because you're three such a pivot of year for guys. I know we both have them training upward, but what upright looks like is probably going to look a bit different for both of us. What's your Ron Holland prediction? Just to go off last year real fast, 8.2 points for rebounds, 1.2 assists. Ron made 53s last year, 1.2 steals and 0.3 blocks. I didn't have a massive jump here, Omari. I had Ron at 10 points or rebounds to assist. The biggest jump is I went all the way up to two steals. I really just weaned into this O2 that this is a team that is like all about just dominating the NBA in terms of defensive disruption with steals. And then I had him at 0.5 blocks. I did have him with a slight jump to 75, 3.8 points.

Okay. I'm not too far off. I did have him at 10 points, four rebounds and assists in a half. A steal in a half, half a block. And then I went up to 90. Okay. Three pointers. So almost double the three pointers he had last year. I think I'm buying into the improvement as a shooter a little bit. I don't think that means he shoots like 38, 39 percent because I see I'm cracking 35, 30, 30, 36 percent. I could. I think he'll be willing. I just think he'll knock down more. 50 and 90s are pretty big. Improvement sitting on paper there. So we'll see where it is up. But I think it'll go up from 50 last year. I'm interested to see where your total three point makes lands. I think both of us are going to have the pistons higher than last year. But I'm kind of interested to see if they balance out as we get to kind of the rest of the roster. And where those go to. Next player on our list is Paul Reed, who, you know, right now, and I think most people would agree with this looks like the backup five for this team. And last season average seven point eight points, four and a half rebounds, one point to assist.

Paul Reed made 13 threes last year, point nine steals, point nine blocks. 02, where did you go with a back up big man Paul Reed? Yeah. Numbers up a little bit across the board. 10 points, six rebounds and a system of half, one point two steals, one point three blocks, and then 50. Okay, man. Pointers, 53, four and a half. You're going to have a big three point make number. Yes, we have our first screen. So for anybody who is watching here on YouTube, West has very cool color coded this. So I believe as soon as it turns green, that means it's gone over what Detroit did last year. Is that correct, West? Yes, I'm getting the thumbs up. So, Amari has the pistons over the 902 three pointers that they made last season. I love it. Yeah. So I think one thing to keep in mind with the three pointers, like everyone knows, obviously that the pistons were not a great three point shooting team last year. They're pretty low in attempts for a game and for Cinnich, like bottom cent and both, right?

So they had pretty good room to grow from the amount they hit last year. Just to reach some numbers off. The Hornets led to league and three pointers made last year. They hit 1343. Every team except, I believe eight, back down at least a thousand three pointers. The pistons at 902 were 208 and total made three. So I think three pointers were the one stat I was not afraid to go over in. Just because if they've truly improved as a three point shooting team, you're going to add at least 200 probably from last season. You're probably going to go from nine. You're going to crack at least a thousand and you might crack 11. Yeah, three pointers were the one area I wasn't afraid to go too high. And yeah, so they were 29th and three point attempts to your point. They were actually 17th and three point percentage. I mean, yeah, okay, you let them have. But still, my Paul Reed numbers were 10 points, five rebounds, one assist, another player I expect to have one steel and one block per game. And I settled in at 25 three pointers made. So we were exactly the same in points.

Paul Reed averaging 10, five and a half rebounds, one point two five assists, one point one steel, one point one five blocks, and then 37 and a half, the three point makes. I would just say like, I think for both of us again, Paul Reed probably the backup five. I think Ron Holland is definitely in the whatever, 10 man rotation, whatever. I think these next two players is where numbers could really differ for people depending if you think Dan, thinking one more thing. Yeah, really free movement. I was just going to say to pistons were tied. It was like a four way tie 17 through 20. Okay. So it's not 35.6%. So 17th, but they were 17 to 20 were tied. Yeah, a couple of misses here and they would have been bottom 10. I think depending on what I think some people think Dan is Jenkins maybe a starter for this team. I think some people might have them out of their 10 man rotation to be quite honest with you. If you think rookie Corey is going to be ready to play. So I do think that these next few players particularly are players that maybe the projections can really start to differ a lot.

We'll start with Dan is Jenkins who averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.2 blocks, 73 three pointers made last year for Danis. What do you have projected this year for Dan is Jenkins? For Danis, I have 10 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 93 pointers made, 1 steal, and then 0.2 blocks. So pretty similar across the board. I think as a fish see could go up a little bit more and that's where you'll see some of the improvement, but not significant statistical improvement from last year. I feel like you might be a bit higher than me. I could be wrong here to see. No, we actually are very similar and I do want to make a point. Omari and I do not discuss this whatsoever. Like we barely had any conversation at all. The biggest conversation we had as a trio was about what numbers we were going to use to try to make sure we were kind of on the right track. I had Danis at 9 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 103 point makes, 1 steal, and 0.2 blocks.

So that gets our official projection to 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, both of us had a minute 4 assists, 95, 3s made, 1 steal, 0.2 blocks. I think both of us are projecting Danis Jenkins to be at least in the 10 man rotation. Right Omari? Like if JB was going to play 10 guys on opening night, we both expect Danis Jenkins to be one of those 10. Yeah, they just absolutely got to have another buy in that group and I think a star can be that, but they're going to need a traditional guy on the floor regardless of whether it's Kate or Dennis, one of the two most likely. So that's how it feels. Danis obviously exceeded expectations last year, did everything he needed to do to earn that spot, even started their last four or five playoff games. So just a brick climb for him. I don't see that change. Okay. Next up is Abuka Kori. I think this one will be really, really interesting or at least could complete. Nard, bro. Last season is Amber.

He averaged 23.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists. He made 63, 3s, 1.6 steals, 0.3 blocks. Where are you at with Abuka Kori? Seven points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, not significant amount of blocks. You could just put 0.2, 75 three pointers. It's tough to project a few things about Abuka. It's tough to project the exact row minutes. See, closer to there, 82 game guy or more so, 15 minutes unless there's an injury. It's tough. I think we're going to learn a lot about that. Obviously, when we get to training camp and beyond. But he'll probably have a couple of nice three pops off, right? I think you're knocked out some three pointers. I think he's a very active, kind of handsy defender. So he'll get those steals, he'll get those deflections. But it really just boils down the row for him. That's extremely tough to predict for a player with his skills set on this team. And we'll see what that looks like. But across the board, that just felt pretty safe for me.

I was a little bit lower. I do not have Abuka Kori in the top 10 right now. And so because of that, I have him at five points, two rebounds, two assists. I'm way lower on the amount of three point makes. I have him at 20. I do have him at one still per game as well. I do think that's something he will do in his minutes. He does get an point one blocks. So a little bit less. So our average here is for the rookie is six points per game, two and a half rebounds, two and a half assists, 47.5 made threes, one steal and 0.15 blocks. Next up is Kevin Herder. Well, obviously he was on the team last season after the trade deadline. With the pistons last year, only with the pistons. Herder did average eight and a half points, two point eight rebounds, two and a half assists. He made 33s in those games and then one point one steal, another guy that average over his steal per game and point three blocks. Where did you land with Kevin Herder? Yeah, pretty similar.

Nine points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, zero point three blocks. And then I had him at 83 pointers made. I believe he was around 100 last year of the Twin Chicago Andy Trey. Obviously he's been a fractional decision with Detroit. So he only hit 30 with the pistons. But I can see I'm knocking down anywhere between 75 and 103 pointers. He has like a consistent row. You'll probably be one of the higher volume guys on the team. So the exact number obviously just comes down to his minutes. But I think he'll be in that range. So this is another one where I'll be a little bit lower just based on what I think the rotation is going to be. I probably end up being wrong here because based on the contract that Kevin Herder got, he's probably more likely to be getting more minutes than what I'm projecting. But I have heard her at five points, two rebounds, one assist, 50 made threes, one steal and point one blocks, which gives us a projection of seven points, two and a half rebounds, one point five assists, 65 made threes, one steal yet again and point two blocks.

I want to stop just real quick again for audio only listeners. This puts us. I don't think we're going to end up at double figure scoring projections for any other players. We have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight and Danis, almost nine players projected to average double figures, but only Kate Cunningham and Jalen Duren averaging more than 13 and a half are third leading score would be John Collins at 13 and a half. We also have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine players, almost 10 projected to average a steal per game for this team. So that is the next stat that is going to turn green here very, very soon. And next up is Torian Prince. Last year, Amari, he averaged nine points, three rebounds just under two assists, made 61 threes, point six steals, point two blocks. Yeah, I had Torian Prince at seven points. Wait, I'm on the right page. Yes, I'm on the right page. Yes, seven points, two rebounds, one assist, half a steal,

zero point two blocks, 55 three pointers made. I can see that being higher, again, that's another guy just exact row a little bit hard to project out to this point, but he's going to take a higher rated three, he's going to shoot a higher percentage, that 55 could it be a bit low depending on what that role looks like, but he had a Ross 60 last year battle some injuries in Milwaukee, a Ross 60 for a safe. So I have Torian Prince at eight points, three rebounds, one assist, 75 three point makes, so this is one player where I was higher than you, point seven steals and point two blocks, which gets us to a total of seven and a half points for Torian Prince, two and a half rebounds, one assist, 65 three point makes, point six steals, point two blocks. It is kind of interesting to just see the numbers here before we get to the final three players, with Chas linear, Tollou smooth and Gary Harris, just kind of, I mean, we have all of these players, Omari, Abouca, Cory at six points to John Collins at 13 and a half.

I believe that would be what we've done 13 players. I think there'd be 11 players we have between six points and 13 and a half if I'm not mistaken. Kind of think it just speaks. So this isn't a negative thing, but kind of where we are on the roster, kind of how we feel about the roster. Yeah, I mean, they've got deaf, you know, we talk about that a lot, but that's kind of what it looks like. I think in practice, Riva, the guy like Kevin Hart, or have him at nine twice, you know, I don't know if Kevin Hart, he plays 82 games, but given the opportunity, I think you will absolutely be a guy like because it's the head double digits, if the minutes are there, right? And that's just how this roster is made. A lot of it comes now to the playing time, but with the right amount of a bit is Torian Presky get there, you know, Kevin Hart or you get there, they have a lot of guys who could fulfill that role if necessary. This is a little bit of a side, that's why I'm not as riva people talk about, well, they even with 60 games because you're a tryhard team. I think it's deaf. Like it's not trying harder. It's just having guys like a step up, if you add up the games, Dennis one, them par read, some of the other guys who just stepped up and really played well, you know, I think that's how you get to 60 out like this because you tried harder

per se, but no, they have guys I could step up and get you a bucket. So I think that's what this shows. Let's go. Okay. So yeah, Flymon 3 2 1 says one of these last three guys won't make the roster, right? That is correct, but I think the totals we have are for 20 players from last year. So we were just we tried to do as many as we could, essentially, and that'll get us pretty close to those numbers, especially if you see them here on the screen. Let's just go a stat by stat, umari. So like what are your points per game for each of Chaz, Tollu and Gary Harris? Yeah, Chaz, I had him four points. I had tollu at five points and I had Gary at three points. So just very much kind of inner rotation, you know, these guys will play spot minutes. And again, there are 16 players, right? You would assume like it'll be one of these last four guys who end up making it be in the eye man out, but from a point of standpoint, it was just very much, I don't know if the minutes are there, but they will score points. So let's get a number out of part. Yeah, I'll go with four for Chaz as well.

I think Tollu is the one that maybe here has the biggest opportunity to this to be a little bit higher. He is the third center on the roster, yeah, depending on how you put, you know, John Collins into the equation. I'll go six for Tollu Smith and then three for Gary Harris. Quite honestly, I don't expect Gary Harris to be on the roster. We'll see that puts our average at 159.75 last year. It was 163.5 for 20 players. You know, so if we just put four more players here that, you know, at two or three points, I would say we're expecting the team to score a few more points for game. Is that representative of what you actually think about them, Amari? Yeah. I mean, I think they're going to knock now more three pointers. They're just going to be a more balanced offense overall. So should go up. We'll see, but I think just looking at the roster, you expect the offense to be a little bit better. Rebounds for me. I'll say one for Chaz linear and Gary Harris and then I'll go, I'll go three for Tollu Smith. I think Tollu, again, whenever he plays like, and he's going to have to, I think he's obviously going to have some production. Yeah. At Tollu at four rebounds. Yeah.

And then one rebound for Chaz and Gary. So those numbers are about the same yet again, it comes in under, but if you just put four more players at one per game, it's just barely under what the average was last year. I don't expect any of these guys to average a whole lot of assists Amari. I think we want them for all of them. Yeah. We should we go one across the board. Tollu. Yeah. Yeah. They do run some offense through their bigs. I expect that Tollu would be asked to do that. We came in. It's about the same. I don't expect this team to average more assists. I don't think they necessarily added a playmaker where that would necessarily be the case. Maybe they just simply make more shots to our three point makes conversation. This is one where maybe the number could boost a little bit more. I'll go 23 point makes for Chaz zero for Tollu. And I mean, I'll say 10 for Gary Harris just as a placeholder for those roster positions. They they will play more than 15 players this season. Yeah. Just put me down for the saying for those guys. I'll go I'll go 15 threes for Gary. So this is the number that's coming in definitely the highest compared to last year.

So last season the pistons made 902 3s. Amore and I combined have the team at just under 1200 whenever you average it out. Which I think would be a obviously a massive, massive improvement for them. I think would be a very, very successful season. Yeah. So just as a point of comparison, we have them at 1188.5 three pointers made that would have ranked the three six or seven last year right under the Atlanta Hawks and just before the Portland Trailblazers. And in my number, I have them at 1267 three pointers last year that would have been fourth right under the Boston Celtics with 1268. So maybe overshot that a little bit of the honest on the five of them top five and three pointers made. But I can see them being top 12. And I think that's about where we averaged out. Yeah. And so yeah, that's the other thing. There there's the number will be a little bit higher because of four more players or whatever, you know, compared to last year. So I think what it

speaks to is that we do think that this is going to be a better three point shooting team this year. Maybe not quite what our numbers are representing here, but definitely better steals. I'll put chas at I don't know point three tolu at point five Gary Harris at point three. Yeah. I'll put chas at I'll put up. Yeah. Chas at point three tolu at point three. Gary at point four. So this is another number that came in higher than last year. And I do just want to point out that they led the NBA in steals per game. I think by a little bit of a margin relatively speaking. So this is a pretty aggressive Jackson and prediction as well for them to be even better blocks. I'll say chas. point one tolu point seven Gary Harris point one because it's put the exact same down from me. West. I think this is interesting. No more. This came in lower for me. And it came in lower for us on average as well compared to last season. Does that represent the block? Yeah. Does that represent

your feelings? You know, sometimes the numbers come in and you're like, man, that's not exactly how I feel about the team. For me, it does. I think it's going to be a very aggressive steals team. I could see their block numbers being slightly back. Yeah. I mean, they lost their best shot blocker. Who was I say a Stewart and Paul Reese a great shot blocker to he'll absorb some of that. I think John Collins will absorb some of that. Kate and the star. Obviously, I really strong shot blockers for their positions. But none of them, I think are quite good. Just go to half. That's two per minute impact. Yeah, you're a 7.3 blocks. I'm at 8.3 blocks last year. They were at about nine. Maybe they get a bit closer to nine, but I do think it'll go back down a little bit. And they did yet again, lead the NBA and blocks per game last year, just like so. I don't think it's unreasonable to think maybe they don't do it in back-to-back seasons. Yeah, this is always a fun episode. I realize it's very numbers heavy, right? We have the Excel spreadsheet out. Thank you so much to Wes. I do. I think if you watch this on YouTube either live or after the fact, I hope it helped your

viewing experience. Like you were able to kind of keep track of things. So huge shout out to Wes for putting that together. The color coding, all of those different things. Again, we will be back every week here moving forward. We have our lineups episode coming at some point. Probably try to bring in a national guest at some point to preview the season. I realize, I think we're like one month away from the Pistons first preseason game. We're less than a month away from the first general NBA preseason game. I think that's on the 3rd of October. This is quickly approaching. We will get some basketball, some NBA basketball coming up very soon. Hopefully you enjoyed this episode. Again, I know it's a lot of numbers, but we enjoy putting it together for all of you. We appreciate all of your support throughout the off season and heading into the regular season. Oh, too, any final thoughts? Or you can take it away. Yeah. If you're not typically a YouTube watcher, this will be a good one to check. I don't know YouTube. Just see you can see this handy spread sheet in front of us. Otherwise, yeah, just to reiterate,

Bryce has starts the season is right around the corner. Midia Day, I believe, is on the 28th for the training camp the day after that. I think by my count, we've got two, about two pounds left before that first training camp pot off season. Almost over. I've got a couple weeks before we get to the Ditty-Gritty. I think we're both very excited for it. We have some good stuff coming up soon. Beyond that, I will close us out. So, you know what? I feel like I'm so deep into this show. This is episode 248. I should just have this memorized, but I close down the page. I'm gonna pull that for real quick. I will say real quick, Oh, too. I don't have to look at the sheet anymore for my intro. Like, I just west hits record. He counts me down, and I am able to rattle it off. Well, I need my Andy sheet of paper. I'll try to have it for the reason. Here we go. How big thanks to our audio producer, Robin Chan. I edited in chief to co every nickels at a big shout out to West Davenport, as always. And we would talk to you on next week.
