Stapleford Skatepark Grand Opening: Free Activities & Coached Sessions

0:00On April 1st, Staplesford's Pascher Road Skate Park gets its official opening this Saturday, April 11th, with a full afternoon of free activities for locals. It's celebrating the launch and kicking off a summer program of free coach skateboarding sessions. The spots already been pulling in folks of all ages since it quietly opened back in December. Organized by Canvas and the local non-profit Skate Nottingham, the event welcomed skateboarders, quad and inline roller skaters, plus BMX riders. Everything's funded through the 21.1 million pound stable for a town's fund, plus a 100,000 pound grand from the FCC Community Action Fund. Since opening, the skate parts become a real community hub, drawing families, kids and adults who love getting out on wheels. It's designed to be inclusive, boosting local vibes and skills without costing a dime for these sessions. The days line up starts at 12.30 pm, with a coach skateboarding session for ages seven and up helmets and boards provided. Then 1.30 pm brings an all wheels open jam,

1:03just for women and girls. From 2.30 to 4 pm, it's a big open jam for everyone, with music, prizes, giveaways, and tips from pro skateboarders and BMXers. Pop-up workshops rounded out for all ages. Parking's tight, so hop on public transport or park at the stable Ford Community Pavilion on Hickings Lane. This summer series is set to keep the momentum rolling strong.
