St. Lunatics Reunite for Halftime Show, New Album

0:00On March 15th, Nellie and most of the St. Lunatics are reuniting for a big halftime show at the St. Louis-Batterhawks home opener on March 28th. The group, including Murphy Lee, Kaijuwon, City Spud, and Slow Down, will perform at the dome at America Center. It's their first major gig together in years, but original member Ali Jones is sitting it out. The reason comes down to a messy legal fight between Ali and Nellie. Ali sued for $50 million, claiming he got shorted on royalties and credits from their early hits. A federal judge, throughout the case, calling it frivolous, and even hit Ali's lawyers with sanctions. The rest of the group state clear of the lawsuit. This performance means a lot to St. Louis hip-hop fans. The St. Lunatics helped put the city on the map in the 90s, and now they're bringing that energy back home as part of the U.F.L. spirit of St. 9. Louis kick-off weekend. Behind the scenes, Nellie is pushing for more. He's got the crew working on their first full album in over 25 years, with Metro Boom and Handling production.
