St. Joseph's health care just wrapped up its dog research chapter for good. The final two dogs from the program have left the facility and started heading to family homes. This comes straight from hospital president and CEO Roy Butler in a recent statement. The whole research effort at the Lawson Research Institute shut down last August. After that, the dog shifted over to Western University's animal care team. Six of them already found new homes back in September. Public reaction hit hard last summer once details of the experiments came out. Folks were furious and even the premier stepped in with strong words, vowing to push laws banning tests on dogs and cats in medical settings. Earlier this week on Tuesday, those last two pubs began their move to permanent families, closing the loop on the transfers. All clear now, these dogs are on their way to cozy lives and the hospitals drawing a line under animal testing there. I'm Corey with the story. As your Vancouver News today update, AI powered.
