SSCP Management, the company behind Sitzi's Pizza, just acquired Logan's Roadhouse, a popular steakhouse chain with 125 locations. SPB Hospitality, the previous owner, plans to shift focus to its higher-end spots, like J. Alexander's, Stony River, and the Garseys Group, which includes places such as Amata and Village Whiskey. Logan's has switched hands three times in the last six years amid some tough times, including two bankruptcies linked to sales drops and restructurings. It started with Cracker Burle back in 1999, then went to private equity in 2006, Kelsal & Company in 2010. For $560 million, Kraftworks in 2018, and SPB in 2020 for about $93 million, SSCP also runs Corner Bakery and Roy's Restaurant, plus franchises for Sonic Drive, and in Apple Bees, and they see Logan's setup for growth under new.
