Uk: Зимове сонце повільно прокидалося над горизонтом.
En: The winter sun was slowly waking up above the horizon.

Uk: Олеся стояла на порозі своєї маленької хатини і дивилася на безкраїнні поля.
En: Olesya stood on the threshold of her small cabin, looking at the endless fields.

Uk: Все навкруги було біліше за сніг.
En: Everything around was whiter than snow.

Uk: Вчорашня буря накрила землю товстим покривалом, і хоча час для весняної сівби був близько, це несподіване похолодання принесло нові виклики.
En: Yesterday's storm covered the ground with a thick blanket, and although the time for spring sowing was near, this unexpected cold snap brought new challenges.

Uk: Олеся завжди працювала на цій фермі.
En: Olesya had always worked on this farm.

Uk: Її дід передав їй у спадок це невеличке господарство.
En: Her grandfather had passed down this small estate to her.
