SPC 022: How Thanos Killed Half of the Marvel Universe
About this episode
Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame are Marvel’s highest grossing MCU movies to date, and Thanos’ quest to collect the infinity gems had been building since his first film appearance in the post-credits of 2012’s Avengers. But the genesis of this storyline first began nearly twenty years earlier, within Marvel’s Infinity Gauntlet mini-series. Marc and Remso discuss this epic event, and how it paved the way for the Marvel films to deliver an equally epic onscreen version. They break down Thanos as a lovelorn villain, and the fallout from the storyline that is still influential in both cinema and comic books.
