Sound Bites: S2E3 - Working With Your Hormones

About this episode

On this episode, Functional Medicine Practitioner, Dr. Kirstin Lauritzen discusses how hormone balance is vital for a healthy functioning body. Most women, however, fight their hormones. The medical system and traditional sports nutrition and research has taught women to want to avoid working out and competing around the time of their periods. The thing is – you can work with your hormones versus against them.  She makes sure to include the importance of educating yourself on different birth control methods if you do decide to train and move your cycle around when it comes to competing. Kirstin also includes some tips for athletes battling thyroid concerns and athletes in menopause and post menopause.
