Soros Centers for Contemporary Art w/ Aaron Moulton

About this episode

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, an estimated 24 million dollars helped to fund 20 newly established art centers throughout eastern Europe. The SCCA mission was to archive “unofficial art” (works that were previously unrecognized by the authoritarian state) and to cultivate a new form of avant garde contemporary art with curious political overtones.
