Sony Developing DJANGO & ZORRO Crossover Based on Tarantino Comic

Sony Pictures has officially greenlit a crossover film titled Django/Zorro, which unites the protagonist of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained with the legendary masked vigilante Zorro. Based on a comic book sequel co-written by Tarantino and Matt Wagner, the production features a script by Academy Award winner Brian Helgeland and focuses on a younger iteration of the swordsman. Although Tarantino is serving as a producer rather than the director, the story explores a mentorship between the two icons as they combat various forms of oppression in the American Southwest. This cinematic project follows years of development delays and rights negotiations, finally bringing the highly anticipated pairing to the big screen. The film aims to blend spaghetti Western aesthetics with classic pulp adventure while addressing deep-seated themes of racial justice and resistance.
