Solicitor Faces Fraud Trial: £10k Allegedly Stolen

Michael McCodder faces accusations of abusing his position to pocket 10,000 pounds from a client's funds back in 2002. The judge at Belfast Magistrate's Court ruled there's enough evidence for the case to move forward. The alleged fraud happened between July 13th and August 18th that year. Prosecutors say McCodder dishonestly took the money, which was paid into his firm's account for the client's benefit, either for his own gain or putting the victim at risk. McCodder stood firm in court, entering a not guilty plea when asked about the charge. District Judge Stephen Keone agreed with the prosecution that a prima facie case exists against him. Now the case shifts to Belfast Crown Court for the full trial. McCodder remains on bail and will return for a raiment on a date yet to be set.
