Social Media Consumption Has to Be Taught

About this episode

In this repeat episode we are questioning whether the digital world is quietly reshaping our kids’ mental health. TikTok and Instagram have become more than just apps—they’re spaces where our kids compare themselves, perform for others, and figure out who they are. What they see and how they engage with that content can affect everything from anxiety and self-worth to sleep and overall well-being.

As parents, our job isn’t to shame or scare them away from social media—it’s to help them understand it and navigate it with intention. Because if we’re not teaching our kids how to be socially media literate, the algorithm will be doing the teaching for us.
