Sochan's Struggles: Knicks' Bright Spot Diawara Thrives

He had put up solid numbers two seasons ago with the San Antonio Spurs averaging 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. But in his first seven games with the Knicks, things have gone south. He's averaging just 0.8 points and 1 rebound in 5.1 minutes per game. The main issue is his shaky outside shooting, which has plagued him all season. Head coach Mike Brown gave Sochan a real shot by pulling Rookie, Muhammad Diawara from the rotation. But when the production didn't show up, Diawara slid right back in and has been thriving. Diawara has become one of the Knicks' bright spots this year. At 6-speed 9, with a 7-foot 4-wing span, he shoots well from 3 and defends multiple spots. Recently, he dropped 10 points and a team high plus 25 against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 27th.

Meanwhile, Sochan has been stuck in garbage-time minutes. A recent practice before the Thunder game highlighted the problem even more.
