Yeah, that's right for the the other games Thursday Monday even when we have Wednesday You know Hayden Winks is gonna sit in with me, but he's busy over on football 301. So I am back As we've always been here you and I recapping these games solo on Sunday night But we're doing it live this year, which is extremely exciting if you're watching along with us on YouTube right now

Make sure you subscribe leave a comment, you know chat along here because we're gonna have some fun with these solo Sunday night football recaps as we had a really fun and exciting week one it was amazing It was incredible. I mean, I got to say right one thing off the top here before we get into Sunday night football And we will get into Sunday night football a very humbling end of Sunday for your boy I mean my god. I had a great time all night with you know Jalen Coker ballin out, you know, we had my guys dot Tavine Wicks scoring a big touchdown It was a great day to be me and you know for some of my takes it was awesome I had I had a great Sunday and what a humbling end it was a reminder that football always will bring you back down to earth Because I predicted that the Cowboys would Smack around the Giants on Sunday night football I think I said it to Josh multiple times on a preview show on fantasy football live this morning and could not have been more wrong because the Giants I think even though they won 28 to 20 I think they pretty much embarrassed Dallas in this game tonight and you know

We'll start as we always do here on these solo recaps with the team that won the football game by the way Shout out to producer JB great stat he pulled before this one the jets and giants are both one and It is the first time that they have both won their season opener since 2009 What were you guys doing in 2009? I was a freshman in college, okay? Spoiler alert. I'm not a freshman in college anymore. I'm much much older than that. This was quite a long time ago Okay, so shout out to the New York teams Both of them want to know including the Giants who like I said I think they really embarrassed Dallas on this one they embarrassed me for you know my takes on the Dallas Cowboys here Heading into week number one and they really did it by I don't I say this um if you guys caught my Malachi fields video Where I was making a slot bowl dinner while my wife was out of town. There's a little solo Instagram tick-tock I put it on Twitter style video. I called Malachi fields like a slot bowl wide receiver complimentary

You know and what I mean by a slot bowl is it's left over sweet potatoes. It's left over chicken It's like a steamed vegetable you throw it on a all a bowl and you eat it and and boom there you go, okay? It's it's not flashy But it's nutritious and it gets the job done And I kind of feel like this entire victory for New York tonight was like a slot bowl Performance on offense by the New York Giants not flashy, but they got the job done Okay, check this bad boy out here. We're showing on the screen if you're watching along with us on YouTube if you're on the audio feed I'll read it off for you here 33.8% of their Snaps in 11 personnel according to super sports for the New York Giants tonight That was almost 13% lower than the NFL average 12.3% usage in 12 personnel 18.5% in 21 personnel 13 personnel 3.1, but 22 personnel 20 percent like the Giants got the big boys on the field and said you are not going to get in our way And they did not really get in their way all night did this newly remade Dallas Cowboys defense with Christian Parker and all these new

Interesting players on the other side of it they forgot That running backs are eligible wide receivers in not just today's NFL, but forever In the NFL the Cowboys I believe they allowed the Giants to convert nine of ten for third downs for first downs in this game tonight It embarrassing effort by the Cowboys defense here. This wasn't as disgustingly horrible on the back end As Dallas's defense was last year, but it was really up in the front seven. What were we doing here at one point Nate Tyson had the stat that the Giants Jackson Dart five of five for 40 yards and two touchdowns when throwing to the flats to the flats folks That's what happened tonight with the Dallas Cowboys trying to stop this Giants Passing game again mostly to the running backs looking at the box score here really tells the whole story When we're looking at these running backs here dev and single Terry four catches 22 yards and a touchdown

In this game pat record really the name we haven't mentioned yet by the way pat record Just this 300 pound monster fullback that followed John Harboff from Baltimore to New York And this was something again. I was skeptical about just the brain trust right between the Great at some point. We'll flash through here great tweet Well, it didn't age well for Steven Ruiz my buddy over there. He's be with the ringer. He's now a fox Did not age really well, but you know, just the brain trust of mat naggy Greg Roman up there in the booth for the New York Giants Man those guys cooked up a pretty good game plan with just these big heavy personnel bodies pat record in there as the full Just mashing these guys over 17 18 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown for cam scataboo He was the lead running back by a mile tyrant Tracy made another mistake in this game I mean tyrant Tracy. It's like come on man every single time we get him on the field It's some level of a mistake for the New York Giants running back

You know, it's cam scataboo kept that ball moving man He just kept things moving down the field 18 touches in this game as I mentioned 60% of the running back rushes A running back touches when two cam scataboo 69% of the running back rushes went to scataboo. You had 67 percent of the touches inside the five yard line as well Great first game back you as Mike Floreo says here you'd love to see more past game usage I agree you would love to see that but for now really good just kind of showing for him In this big Malling offense that we have here with the New York Giants and you know ultimately I do think single terri is going to continue to mix in here mostly on passing nouns. He has You know 12 routes same as cam scataboo in this game more targets Of course as I mentioned he was just a monster in the flats unbelievable stuff there From cam scataboo and devon single terri just kind of combining to be a pretty useful tandem

I would say from a fantasy standpoint You know, this is not great for cam scataboo is like running back one ceiling But he can be a very viable running back to if that's what you're looking for like it's different usage Then what we got from him when he was smoking people at one point in his rookie year It is definitely different. It's less check downs and more of the true running back work But I think this is probably good enough if we're looking at him as a You know, we'll call him like I said running back to 3.08 yards after contact per rush attempt per cam scataboo I think that really tells you what he was doing here that sound or so to roll we expected in the passing game For the New York Giants, you know, I think Jackson Dart just was careful with the football all night Didn't really put things in harm way wasn't to harm's way wasn't too reckless overall I think that was good to see really catchable footballs all night from Jackson Dart I think that he throws a really nice catchable football for These pass catchers he kind of lays things out pretty well

I do think you know, there are some Things you can still point in his game little knits to pick here and there but In a game like this where you get these big bodies out on the field You're getting high leverage looks you're gonna go ahead and just throw that catchable football out there And continue to keep the ball moving down the field Malik neighbors did play this game tonight. Haven't mentioned his name just yet He was targeted on 44% of his routes Average over three yards per route run Him and Isaiah likely were the featured players in the passing game not a full complement of snaps for really anyone In this game d'Arno Mooni leaves the teams at least the team in routes But it was neighbors it was Uh, it was it was neighbors it was Isaiah likely and I think that we're gonna continue to see that going forward I mean neighbors is only gonna get Healthier as we go through the season he made some people miss in the open field today He probably had another one where he was really upset that he kind of got tackled at this weird angle and brought down there

I think we're gonna only see more and more from neighbors nine target six catches 69 yards Again, Isaiah likely was the other featured player here target on over 50% of his routes eight targets 15 routes in this one two touchdowns You do want to see the playing time bump up for likely for sure if he's gonna continue to be This fantasy tight end one, you know that being said This is a really strong debut from him and you know a lot of just work out in the flats out in the open field as we as we mentioned here So yeah games with two plus touchdowns For Isaiah likely and over 70 yards for show on the screen We got one here with the New York Giants. We got zero with the Baltimore Raven So nice Signing him and Patrick card following John Harball from Baltimore over to New York I would again, I would say the fantasy takeaways here is you know You kind of know that there's no other wide receiver in the mix For this team Darnell Mooney wasn't that guy My guy Malachi fields had a couple key catches key blocks as well

That's good to see from Malachi fields, but even him he's just gonna be a role player on this team Odobekam obviously is kind of a mascot slash role player for this team as well It really is just neighbors and Isaiah likely and the rest of the guys will keep moving from there Now of course I am interested to see what will happen for the Giants if and when they get pushed into a different game script With this team Will we see what it looks like when Jackson Dart has to open it up when they have to play more 11 personnel But I think what we saw tonight is that they want to live with these bigger bodies on the field create mismatches And really be a physical downhill run team and for one night here a week one They absolutely lived in the identity that Greg Roman wants him to live in the John Harball wants him to live in that Matt naggy is certainly willing to go along For the ride with that whole operation So definitely a great debut for the 2026 New York Giants made me look like an idiot for saying they were gonna go worked on national television Speaking to making me look like an idiot. Let's talk about the Dallas Cowboys here who definitely did not shine in this game tonight

I mean my god Like I said defensively it was brutal. Okay, but let's talk about some of the miscus on the offensive side here You know, Daxon reception was definitely a turning moment in the game George Pickens letting a couple passes slip through his hands in the game Earlier on in the first half those are missed opportunities that you're gonna want to get back in the second half the offense Like what do you really want them to do you know they get two drives they score on both drives That's it otherwise the Giants were just bigger they're more physical and they just sat on the football and kept it away from Dallas Um, I don't really have any big overarching fantasy takes with the New York Giants He was even with the Dallas Cowboys offense here coming out of this one because I mean ultimately I think we still know where the football is going. It's where the football went tonight, you know, it's still the main players here. They just Just didn't have a good night Uh guys made mistakes at the catchpoint Dax through an interception that you can't really throw

Javante Williams scores a touchdown. That was great. It's course two touchdowns one through the air One on the ground The one that goes in the second half. I mean it's just like come on dude. We can't We can't be doing that all right. We cannot have the taunting penalty. I know it's the I know it's I know silly I know it's needless but everybody knows it's a rule everybody on earth knows it's a rule You can't do that you cost the extra point That kick ends up getting mixed missed from Brandon Aubrey and there we go like it just come on We can't have that Javante but still obviously really strong workload for him. He has 12 carries Amari de Mercado the nominal second running back after Malik Davis went on I. R You know, he gets two carries like it's gonna be Javante Williams all the way This is a game that really makes you feel good about Javante because when they fall behind He has five catches just in his back pocket. So yeah Javante Williams feel good about him coming out of here is running back to in fantasy football You know Just a weird game from George Pickens, you know a couple mistakes at the catch point here like George

We have not signed that contract extension yet. I don't know about that one I wouldn't call it a perfect outing from CD-LAM either but he gets eight targets five catches 44 yards scores the touchdown Just a weird game from Dallas here and I'm hoping that it's nothing I'm hoping like okay this offense can just return next week and absolutely get back to work We'll see if that happens because this is supposed to be one of those Inner circle teams we can trust everybody on offense. We know what they're gonna do And we just keep it moving from there now week two Commanders secondary I watched the commanders and we're gonna talk about this later in the show just you know Couldn't cover people on the back end all right Don Tavine wicks as I mentioned Don Tavine wicks my guy he put Mikey sander still into a blender in this game I mean it was it was insane they couldn't keep up with Dallas got her running like a five three 40 Okay, so the commander secondary probably can be what ails can fix what ails this Dallas Cow was passing in Feel pretty good about that schedule after that though a little more difficult

Ravens Texans We're gonna be better from this Dallas Cow was passing in period end of story if these guys are gonna be fantasy football difference makers It just felt flat here in week one for Dallas felt really flat honestly. I don't do the you know sort of meta analysis like let's try to read into this too much is just like One team looked like they showed up and really wanted it tonight and one team didn't I know that's dumb Obviously players on Dallas wanted to win this football game but if you are Prone if you are akin to that type of analysis like listen One team just wants it more than the other I certainly felt like one of those teams tonight played with a lot more heart and Wanted it more than the other so disappointing game for the Dallas Cowboys. There's no question about that Okay, that is your solo Sunday night football recap. No taxes no fees no money down and walk out with a new phone There are 250 reasons to choose T-Mobile and now nothing is holding you back On eligible devices with qualifying credit plan and 36 month finance agreement Oh, yes, we are back with the best face-to-peep-a-ball game-by-game recap show in the world And it's even better this year because I've got some buddies to join us Matt Harmon Ray Garvin our new co-host co-workers everything of the sort here at Yahoo Hayden but first I'm going to throw it to you. You know, we do months and months almost a hundred episodes this summer of research And it's very cool in week one when Clea Freeman goes eight catches for 84 yards and Jabbar chase two catches for 12 yards. How do you feel? Well, if you told me the bears would have 59 points You probably taking Luther Burton Colson leveling and what the first and second round and then of course We actually get the results and we realize half of our takes are wrong Yes, well, let's not waste any more time and dive first into that game that ray has a hold of

As you know been Johnson a couple weeks ago in the press conference Ray said that he wants his offense to set the NFL record and points for a season That would be the 2013 Denver Broncos at 39 per contest Ray Caleb Williams been Johnson and company dropped 59 on this Carolina Panthers defense how they do it Yeah, can we just start by saying wow? What a freaking game? 59 points by the bears and you talk about how they did it Josh 70 plays 552 yards 7.9 yards per play for the Chicago bears and if you would have told me that was going to happen Coming into the week out of been like leveling smash. They'll do and say smash burden smash I think they can buy him for a grand total of seven exceptions between the three pass catchers there But just Chicago this was such a Great game plan by Ben Johnson in the Bears you would think that they just went around and threw the ball all over the place 55% rush rates of 44% pass rate 48% neutral pass rate for the bears

They had two 100 yard rushers in this matchup and they set a litany of records 96 combined points most NFL history for week one The bears 291 rushing yards and six touchdowns since 1999 This is only the second team performance combining six plus rushing TDs with two 100 yard rushers joining the 2017 Saints, I mean, it was I'm just watching it y'all and I'm just gonna say this just watching the game Watching the way that Caleb played the way that they ran the ball This didn't look like a year three like kind of level up for Caleb Williams I mean he looked in total command of this offense and It looks like he's playing like it's it's one weekend y'all but MVP caliber football just the command the poise their ability to run the ball Outstanding performance from Chicago's offensive side of the ball Let's not let's not overlook the fact that they also gave up 52 points on the defensive side But offensively flawless game plan by Ben Johnson

It's gonna feel like a big 12 offense and defense for Chicago I I liked starting with the running backs here. I'm looking at it both of them had over two yards before Contacts one that's an issue for the Carolina Panthers Spend a lot of money on that defensive line in line backer group this off season the bears still putting it together Uh Question you Ray if deandre swift and column nunga kind of do this drive by drive rotation I'm assuming that's what happened here if the bears really are a top three offense this year like Can we get deandre swift as like a top 12 Fantasy running back here he was drafted just outside that but he was somebody climbing up ADP and by the end of it Everyone kind of felt really good about him as a mid to high fourth rounder Yeah swift 61% of the backfield opportunities compared to 38.7% For a common nunga the interesting thing Hayden was when nunga ran five more routes than swift 16 routes on the day to 11 routes for deandre swift So you would think that that number would be flipped a little bit But the way that they blocked I mean they completely dominated the line of scrimmage Caleb Williams was not under pressure a lot in this game

I think there's some more upside to do to deandre swift's game Then maybe we accounted for coming into the season So I'm going to say the way that we saw them play the balance of the attack and and I know it felt like kind of they Alternated drives, but it was a lot of swift early again 61% of the backfield opportunities Yeah, if you drafted swift you got to be feel feeling feeling pretty damn good right now after this game Yeah, I mean that 61 yarder for common nunga you happen super late Matt I mean for me the question is How does a defense stop this version if the bears are going on and on and on about this like Caleb Williams obviously as a thrower was fantastic Matt, I'm sure you saw like the the alley you pass. He had to roam with dunesay along the sideline Lutherburden can now sit and zone coverage and and win in isolated situations But what stood out to me was Caleb Williams also on a 29 yard touchdown run that he avoids sacks avoids pressure Shows some like real juice to his game. So Matt while we argued about all these pieces around Caleb Williams

And then the day I felt like this was the Caleb Williams show with four total touchdowns. He had a hand in I would totally agree with that and the bit that I got to see from this game He looked so fast when he would take like but when he was decisive and got out of there You know, he talked about this that he lost some weight in the offseason wanted to trim down to be more explosive and I mean one week in Definitely check that box to me, but Ray I I mean listen. I got to ask you Why do see everyone overall on the week Jalen Coker? I mean, can we have a moment for that like let's let's not take it away from me here Like five minutes into the show. I realize it is the carnival team, you know Scott Pinausky and hey, and I were talking about that today We've officially decided the bears are the carnival team of this season. So all that caveat, you know mentioned here I'm still pretty impressive performance for our guy Jalen Coker Ray Yeah, I'm gonna be real with you all. I'm gonna be real with you all just watching the flow of the game Watching those two wide receivers on the field If you wouldn't have told me one was the first round pick and one was an undrafted three agent. I mean Coker

looked great Full stop. Yes, I got full stop. I mean he looked better He looked better than I expected and Matt you know we talked about it early in the in the offseason I was big on Coker. I had him projected quite high He looked like the best wide receiver on the field now Jalen Johnson was covering Teteron McMillan quite a bit T-Mac had an issue where he got the ball punched out and Coker look great and the way they moved him around I I I'm very I'm cautiously optimistic on Them moving forward and and and Coker being as big of a factor in that offense But there's nobody else a consequence man I know wallard got a few early Mitchell Evans got in his own later But it was they combined for 50% of the target share is Jalen Coker in Teteron McMillan So it was a concentrated offense, but Jalen Coker look fantastic full stop Ray, I'll take that a step further um

I'm gonna go back and rewatch this game, but just watching it live Jalen Coker was simply creating more separation than Teteron McMillan was and You know, I think it was one of the under discussed topics of the offseason And we love to focus on these tiny little tidbits that T-Mac gain 12 to 15 pounds this offseason Has that impacted his separation skills, you know, meanwhile Jalen Coker wins on a you know 51 yard touchdown down the field and kind of a now in up situation Brad edzick loved that he was you know putting the really the game in Bryce Young's hands early and often and Allowing him to throw down the field and take the shot plays it took these offenses the panthers offense Too many weeks too many months to do that in previous years and Ray I thought Bryce Young stepped up to the plate had a fantastic game all things considered 361 yards three touchdowns and then another rushing score on the ground when he joked the heck out of Jalen Johnson at the touchdown line Josh brush on look great Right, right?

Shawn didn't give up 50 points all right in the one interception came with 20 seconds left and a half and he was targeting Jalen Coker on that play to try to get him the ball to push the ball down field right before half But you're talking about a team 66% neutral pass rate on the day for the Carolina Panthers If if there were one thing that I wish they could have committed to a little bit more was the ground game They did not run the ball much in this one, but Hayden you might like this one because I know you're a big tuba guy It was like a lot of tuba hovered No Jonathan Brooks had the big play down the field But we're talking about 13 carries to six for Hubbard to Jonathan Brooks And then 26 routes for tuba hovered to only six for Jonathan Brooks And if Bryce would have hit him on another wheel route He probably had another 30 40 yards down the field But the back field if they could run the ball a little bit more find some more balance I'm not there yet to say Bryce Young has arrived in year four and he's gonna level up to another degree But it definitely felt like in this game without the presence of a wide receiver three in a tight end of consequence

That he can support McMillan and Jaylen coca both Yeah, Jaylen coca once he was a full-time player last year He was about the wide receiver 34 9 1 1 2 half ppr points per game in that contest That's like another win for him. I will say with the bears I named the drop off from Jaylen Johnson to their rest of the secondary until Kyler Gordon those guys gets back It's something that we have to note in our matchups calling that obviously the Jaylen coca double move was against Tyree Stevenson There's something to keep in the back of my mind not taking anything away from coca I would say like the other big thing with that rotation that was surprising to me is I thought it was gonna be Chuba as a starter By that it was gonna be Jonathan Brooks kind of in the like the secondary role on passing situations on third and fourth down It was Chuba Hubbard Eight snaps and Jonathan Brooks only one of the snaps so Jonathan Brooks was like an early down Kind of change of pace guy. He was not this kind of like base down back pass down back. That was a lie It's pretty much all Chuba Hubbard until proven otherwise To the point if you guys got to be hovered somewhere like the hundreds I think that might be one of the best picks that you guys could have made Yeah, two touchdowns for Chuba Hubbard on the day the 48 yard reception for Jonathan Brooks was another fantastic off structure play by

Bryce Young worry basically points him up the field up the sideline throws it on an absolute laser of him down the field kind of in a tight window area So that was a really nice connection there on top of it. Just final point on Jaylen coca last year He was supposed to be a starting two water seeker set player for this team then suffers the quad injury that lasts for like six to eight weeks and Matt You know this unlike the final 40 targets of the season including the playoffs Jaylen coca has simply outperformed Teteroni milk millen on that stuff. Yep And I understand what you're saying Hayden about the Bears defense being questionable on the back end The panthers also get the Atlanta Falcons next week, you know This team has torn up the Atlanta Falcons secondary in the past So this might be one of those situations Matt where we go from hey awesome playoff game 100 plus yards and two scores to another awesome first week to us actually starting Jaylen coca in the flex next week I don't see why not like especially if the offense is gonna push the ball down the field Bryce Young was six in the average area yards per pass attempt this week among quarterbacks

Like if he's gonna do that then yeah, it's wheels up for coca because yeah I said this during the offseason like this is one of the best young receivers in football There's no need like UDFA QC caveats or anything. He's just been straight up a ball or since he's hit the field Right just a couple quick notes in this Darren Waller basically put Jotavian Sanders on the inactive list Darren Waller had two catches of 28 yards also had an in zone catch That was called back for touchdown and I think I really take take tacky offensive pass in your appearance Pinnoy Ray I do want to ask you quickly just about the Bears receivers because Luther Burton pops up for five for 63 Romedoons a two for 52 with an awesome 47 yarder along the right side line We mentioned that cleaf raiment eight for eight 84 And that leaves us with nothing for colson lovelin on two targets a big fat goose egg I know you haven't gone back and rewashed the tape or any of that stuff But how the heck does colson lovelin who was drafted the highest of any of these pass catchers and double nothing I honestly have nothing for you man. I've got nothing for you

It was very obvious at the beginning of that game that colcomit was going to be a part of the offense Whether you like it or not He's on the field they were motion him out of the back field they were motion him into the slot Like he was a part of the offense colson lovelin. They tried to hit him The when they got down the goal line. It was probably I think in the second quarter He was open for a touchdown Caleb million Caleb Williams missed them It was an interception that was overturned to an off-size to Derek Brown It just it didn't look like he was a part of the offensive game plan in this one which It's a little concerning our man zane the dionny is that his last name? If I'm butchering zanes last name. Here's what he said. Here's what he said about the bears colson lovelin 92% route share 13% 13 and a half percent 13.5 a dot For nearly all one tight-in sets in two tight-in sets 34% slot rate Luther burdens 71% route share Um a lot of his stuff was a lot shorter 50% route share in two wide receiver sets and then Roma doons a

58% route share 63% in two wide receiver sets. I think my takeaway from this one y'all is I don't really know what to make of the usage of the bears wide receivers because None of them really had the type of game that anybody was anticipating and yet they put up 60 damn points So I it's one of these things where you're probably going to play all three again You're absolutely going to play all three again It I hate to say it's incomplete when they put up 59 points But I don't know what we take from this Moving forward. Do I think the lovelin is a zero moving forward? Absolutely not Do I think roams only gonna have two receptions? No Luther burden fumbled the ball early in the game So it was just it was clear that the this game plan was establish it establish it establish it in Caleb Williams His threat with the legs I think that kind of hurts the receivers and the tight ends to a degree at times Josh I would note that I feel like We do need to get a sample here when Roma doons a has like a full week of practice

You know, he told me in January and February of last year that the thing that he felt was most disruptive to him was not Missing like not the injury playing through it last year But actually just the the routine and the disruption of the practice time So I think that's probably something we need here and as for lovelin like I watch both of this targets that Caleb Williams delivered to him Those were probably like his two worst throws of of the day just in terms of ball placement and accuracy So that's just a I mean look you don't want two targets anyways Still a little bit just unfortunate there But I would say that the guy that has probably if you're on I'm not concerned about any of these guys But you know the most concerning maybe usage was Luther burden who wasn't like a full-time player in a lot of the two receivers That stuff So that's the one I think we need to dig into the most for stats versus film later And let me just say this y'all Alameda Zakius was getting targets last year and he had a specified role I'm not predicting that Khalif Raymond leads this team in targets and opportunity But it felt a hell of a lot more than just like Coincidence or luck that he got the opportunity that he did like he did not run some baby

He did not run the same routes as Luther burden or romo dunes It felt like he's got some kind of role in this offense that nobody predicted would be there Ray just kind of wrap this one up Khalif Raymond 95% of Three-wider-sever sets he was on the field for that's a very valuable role That's exactly what you guys are talking about the the new name that was not expecting today Walker He led all bears wider receivers in the non three-wider-sever set snaps 71% of those went to him I think that when Rome a dunesate goes to full-time Walker snaps will come down But Walker was actually the one that was getting in the way of Luther burden In this game so there's something to watch something that I was guess nobody was really expecting I'll just end this by pointing a finger at the panthers defense coordinator Ezra Everro He has some questions to answer for here. Okay. I mean this is the same DC that two seasons ago Coach the unit that allowed the most points in NFL history all I have heard ever since then is oh

He's well respected in the league and they just believe that once he gets more defensive personnel that Defense is going to turn it around and he should be on head coaching lists And you know, he changes the coverage the most between pre snap and post-nap who cares the dude sucks at his job Okay, get him out of here a team unoffence that post 31 points in the opening three quarters should win a game 80% of the time and his defense allowed 59 points in this game get out. I'm sick of it It is just incredible. I understand there are some other plays like Derek Brown on the you know, rough in the passer and Jimmy Horn Muffing the punt and all that type of stuff Your defense wasn't ready for the game. It's that simple and it hasn't been ready for four years Simple as All right That right next up Speaking of defense it was questionable in this one shotingly harman as the Buffalo Bills Beat the Houston Texans on the road 36 to 31 did not have this Texans defense in mind to allow 36 points on the board and Matt

I look at the box score don't concave five or one 30 DJ more five one hundred and one Brain and beans big moves that receive a room certainly hit here in week one with 2026 season Yeah, the big takeaway I think is that both of these offenses looked really good and shout out to Joe Brady Popping his shirt off in the locker room letting the white boy chain hang out I mean there were some good vibes for the Buffalo Bills in this game And I mean a lot of it was some of the things you highlighted there where right away You I will say I felt a little bit like they needed to kind of settle into the offense here with Joe Brady and the boys But you know one thing that caught my eye right away is 36 points against the Houston Texans according to NFL pro That is the most a Demiko Rines led defense has given has given up since his first season On the job in 2023 And this is a defense has given Josh Allen a lot of trouble in their last two meetings 13.5 adjusted yards per attempt in this game It helps to have receivers who can get open down the field it turns out and not only that

But it also kind of allowed them to get Clio Shakir loose early for two catches for 45 yards on his first two targets And those are not like Clio Shakir catch and run opportunities That was kind of a continuation from their first preseason game where Shakir was used more down the field and his I think it's two targets after that were or two catches after that were both screens and more typical Clio Shakir things But yeah, I mean it was DJ Moore who had four catches of 10 plus yards down the field 81% Rob participation led the team He had like his touchdown Well, it's first his first catch was like a play action skinny post like down the field exactly what you think And he didn't have a catch until the second quarter of this game And then as soon as like that that connection started heating up Josh Allen just Who's going after him again and again now his touchdown was a little bit of a Questionable gamble by Reed Blanketship on that one It's tied along the sideline Reed tries to go for the pick and then you know just DJ Moore scampers the rest of the way But immediately you felt the difference with him in there and the other guy too is Dalton concaiid who

Was just smoking defenders down the football field in the second half of this one 77% snap share That's the eighth highest of his career Most of any wide receiver in tight end on the team he had three catches on three targets for 113 yards when lined up out wide I mean it finally looked like Not Dalton concai to the theory, but like Dalton concai to the actualized version of the idea was on the field for the Buffalo Bills So yeah, it was uh, I will say Josh Allen almost like through this game away Game ending iint on what was just an absolute like why are you throwing that thing up just for grabs for Josh Palmer But if you threw that tweet out there you immediately regretted it because uh Then he throws the strike on a post route touchdown to the same player Josh Palmer uh to eventually win this game Now we call that dog concaiid versus USC. That's the the thing we're aiming for here Uh, but just looking at the box score here It looks like it was a way more dropbacks versus designed carries and last year was about even split You just never knew it was that a Sean McDermott thing or was that an actual Joe Brady thing now that he's in the head coaching chair

Like is this something where like obviously you're facing the Texans past rushers which they seemed like they held up Pretty well in the 27% pressure rate, which is really good given the defense and those corners and they still Went back and and drop back all that time did it feel different just watching like James Cook versus Josh Allen the rest of these guys Yeah, definitely and I mean James Cook had a catch on the first dry like one of the first two plays the game uh second play of the game actually and uh he went for you know fourth like it was just He was involved pretty early as a receiver in that way He only has like three catches on the day so it's not some crazy past game role But it was like the first inclination that oh something is a little bit different here And that was what we talked about with what this team had been kind of whispering out of camp in the preseason Was it they wanted to throw the football more and even when you like they first higher Joe Brady as the head coach That was kind of the early justification by beat reporters covering the team was well, you know No, Joe Brady doesn't want to run the football like that that was more of a Sean McDermott thing And you didn't know if that was kind of spin with an organization that was you know a little bit questionable in the in the press conference

Talking about firing Sean McDermott in the whole deal, but it certainly looked like the actualized reality of that here in this game Matt need to ask you on the opposite end here with the Houston Texans CJ throughout coming off some disastrous playoff performances Uh, I would say the bills are like a medium defense. We're not exactly sure what to expect with them now with Jim Leonard calling You know the place for them, but he goes 26 or 38 274 two touchdowns and as we know Nico Collins Is this go-to-man, but a whole bunch of people I mean almost a dozen of them catch passes in this contest Just overall what CJ Stroud do in his debut in 2026 I thought again, I feel good about both offenses coming out of this one. I do think it's easier to say Bill's offense faces against a good defense that we know is good and is mostly returning the same player same coaches And the whole deal and I think it's easier to take more positivity away from that one because you know like Hayden pointed out They did keep those past rangers of Bay was like deep into this game before you really heard anything from Will Anderson and deal hunter Eventually made his presence known but still for the most part like that's how that team felt with with the bills defenses versus the Texans offense

I'm not saying like this was a bad debut by Jim Leonard or anything But man they really kept playing like outside leverage on this team and CJ Stroud went 14 of 19 on 100 for a house 173 yards on in breaking throws in this game like they attacked the middle of the field consistently The biggest takeaway though To me we'll come back to the past game I do want to talk about Nico Collins a little bit more in this game But to me the biggest note was actually in the run game where Daemon Gummary scores three touchdowns that that's great That's cool. Obviously if you started in the fantasy that feels pretty good It did feel a little bit like oh geez. We're sure like Daemon Gummary is not going to be a good player for this Houston Texans football team But the the bigger one to me is that the rushing success rate for the Texans in this game 48.3% That's the fourth best out of 58 regular season and playoff games for this team since 2023 and 2023 to 2025 has said this a lot. They were the 31st rank rushing success rate team since they drafted CJ Stroud strictly on running back runs So they implemented a lot more heavy personnel

Dave Montgomery had like three straight carriers on his first touchdown out of heavy personnel The second touchdown comes out of a 12 personnel look like this did feel like a different run game for Houston Been what we've seen certainly last year and even in some of the Joe Mixing years Yeah, right hand up I was one of the people that was bringing up some maybe dead zone running back profile ish from david monk But this is certainly an awesome debut with three touchdowns that puts a sock in my mouth for at least next couple of weeks I mean josh I kind of wanted to ask Carmen this because I didn't watch a ton of this game right I was locked in on the jets and the titans which we'll get to later But when I see when I see When I see three touchdowns, I feel great when I see 20 carries for 60 yards three yards in attempt and you tell me the buffalo defenses isn't great like I'm just I just want to know how it felt watching him did it feel like a grind did he look like oh man Like we've got a stud here or was it just was it just one of those things where if you're gonna give them 20

Carries like it's probably gonna you're gonna get some fantasy production here because I'm just looking at the raw numbers and I'm like Yeah, it doesn't look that great from my gummery, but I mean we love the three touchdowns know that like what it what did you see just the eye test, Matt That's why I wanted to bring the success rate stacks I think it shows the story a little bit better than strict yards per carry because a lot of his Yeah, a lot of my gummeries carries came in short yardage situations again like I mentioned like three straight at the goal Before he scores his first touchdown. So some of that just depresses the yards per carry But yeah, I wouldn't say this looked like a oh boy Overwhelming run game, but we're talking about the bar for this team is literally at the floor like we just need them to not be the 31st ranked rushing team for them to actually Move the football. I think that did bleed into the passing game where they had more Advantage is down in distance situation. So I just think that the whole offense felt a little bit more organized and cleaner Then what we've seen out of Houston the last two years

Yeah, interesting Matt based in the box who are wouldn't have guessed what my gloveloros putting here on the screen with 51% snaps or D Mont 49% what he marks You know nine carry 16 routes 20 carries 15 routes all the type of stuff But yeah, the box where tells us that near the goal line that is certainly demon I also want to ask about the wider seer room Matt because this was a huge You know change in the preseason once jaden higgins went down We always knew that neco columns are gonna be as you put at the alpha wider seer one for the Houston text Is it as simple as you state here everything else wider seer two by committee because we get jalen old two for 53 Dalton shorts four for 35 Xavier Hutchinson three for 32 and then kashon boute one for 21 Yeah, everybody else kind of had their moments Even this guy Jared Wayne was playing a decent bit and kind of as another almost like a zabier Hutchinson clone a little bit of a grinder blocker Like he was the solo wide receiver in 13 personnel at times again Xavier Hutchinson did sort of the dirty work special several times in this game jalen

Wide open on a dig route on his first catch and then kind of a clutch third and three reception in the final minute of this game But yeah, it wasn't a full-time player nobody was a full-time player nobody in the wide receiver room had a 70% route share Except neco Collins at 88% kashon booty He had a 21 yard reception kind of lost a contested pass along the sideline for one of his others all the tight ends were involved like to me This just the world revolves around neco Collins who had a productive day and drew another long pass and her appearance I should have mentioned DJ Moore had a bunch of hidden yards for the Buffalo bills as well It's several like pass and her appearance legal contact down the field plays in this one too So yeah Collins was the everything revolves around him and everyone else is just kind of in the orbit Matt just closing out one to ask you at the end of game sequence really the final three place Because Houston gets down first and goal to the nine yard line 25 seconds left on the clock Is this just you know the bill was turning it on in the moment they have to where they get a sack

Then we go second and go from the 18 in completion over to neco Collins and then we close it out with another sack fumble on third and goal Yeah, that was probably Stroud's worst moment of the game, which I mean you know Wonderful one that loses the game You know not particularly ideal I guess he was pretty clean all game and then kind of just makes a bad play worse where Trent Brown loses really quickly to Gregory Russo on the right tackle side And then he just kind of gets a little careless with the football as we'll talk about later We call that debaker mayfield special he had kind of one of those at the worst moment Yeah, interesting here with the Texans. I mean they start with the Buffalo bills and then the Cincinnati Bengals Offense in week two so hopefully they can rebound on that side and ask for the bills They face the Detroit Lions in week two man. Oh man. We already have an awesome week too slate Hayden I mean the timing is perfect. Let's flip it over to you with those Detroit Lions in overtime Beating the New Orleans Saints 31 to 30. I was looking at box scores the entire time and it felt like for the first

You know 45 minutes of this game. Yep Tyler Schuck and Travis HN had to combine 38 yards in the end Tyler Schuck throws for 410 yards and three touchdowns and two Interceptions HN still very minimal nine for 46 I don't know if you want to start there just the overall aspect of this game and how it played out and how we got into overtime with the Saints losing because they failed a two point conversion Absolutely a tale of two house. We're going to do the Saints second here Did want to talk about the Lions just because they won this game now they really should have lost this game There's kind of some controversy here with one of the refs Play calls here, but with the offense It just felt a lot more conservative than some of the previous Lions offenses out there The offensive line was fantastic in this one only one pressure allowed according to pff right now Jared Goff though 6.6 average depth the target everything felt Underneath obviously jimmyer Gibbs goes crazy. He's gonna be impossible to defend In fantasy if you don't have them good luck to you guys But even in the drop-backs there was a lot of underneath stuff to a monrod his eight out was 5.2

yards down the field 36% target share for him So I know is the pet scene offense is that because is that gonna force a bunch of targets to the tight ends Not necessarily I think it's him the poor to have like a very up the middle game form But a monrod st brown off coverage touchdown easy one and then in overtime a pick play where the guy think goes Isaac test law To pick him for a little slant goal line touchdown for a monrod st brown jimo didn't really do a whole lot There's a third and four drop that cost him a first down maybe another drop on third and two I'm guessing if we go back and watch the all 22 maybe he's running more clear out routes Early in the game lots of two tight ends snaps by the end of it a lot more traditional stuff there So really nothing like to concrete from the Lions end Even though with a new play color there maybe a little bit more conservative that said this was a very automatic offense Not a lot of explosives here just an offense. I continue to smart stand the football field They did lose their left guard with an injury early in the first quarter Yeah, Hayden we have talked about teams already that are getting players involved that we didn't even know we're on roasters I feel like this lines team though is gonna be the most straightforward one that we'll see all season long

Jumeer Gibbs with I mean he had 29 carries and then another five targets on top of it I mean opening a season with 34 overall opportunities is insane stuff Yeah, and then it's I'm on Rossing Brown Sanleport and James and Williams and that's it I mean, this is the most predictable offense in the NFL And I'll say it's gonna be the most predictable defense this secondary and we can just get right to the Saints was Atrocious for the Lions are missing both of their safeties right now And I think once those guys get back maybe things get a little bit Squared away here, but like rock yossin he was leaving the game Everybody was getting picked apart Tyler Schuck for the first half of the game They were like sliding protections the wrong way they were like running Routes where like nobody was even Near where the ball was placed there was a lot of the temps where Tyler Schuck was throwing the ball and the wider receivers weren't even turned around Bryce Lance a very inexperienced player obviously in his first game He was a big part of this offense CJ Donaldson I have never heard of you CJ Donaldson This guy was out there all the time in past protection instead of Travis H

There's a lot more like new faces and this one it felt really sloppy for the first half And I was tweeting some things and then the second half of this game Tyler Schuck's read the read the tweets And he was absolutely balding throwing the ball down the football field Crystal LaVay 10 reception to 180 two yards a lot of them were down the football field He only left the game three times due to injuries so that was a win for Chris LaVay only three times only three times Updating all day literally in and out in and out He's even making big plays in the medical ten. It was it was nuts And sometimes it was both it was because he made the big play that's why he ended up in the medical ten So it was it was a wild game Devon Valey was very much involved He has a goal line touchdowns on a fade route for him I think that he's someone that kind of not all the way to jail and cookers cookers just a better player But someone that is a for sure almost every down player that it's on a team that can get into some shootouts He's like interesting as a pure like dart throw type and then juwan Johnson did he was one of these guys did absolutely nothing

And then on the very last couple plays of the game. He scores a touchdown to tie it He has a huge play to attempt the Saints to have a game winning field one at dig route over the middle And then also has a big play in over time where they eventually get no offense into the end zone There's a couple sequences that I really want to talk about just for NFL at large the Saints big In over time they go for two they don't get the ball to Chris a lot of they're trying to get a little pick route to him I think that Chuck could have forced it to him But did chose not to the ball goes out of bounds I liked that decision Unfortunately for the Saints there's this really odd rule where Jared golf gets strip sacked The ref say that he was intending to throw the ball forward the ball does go backwards The Saints picked the ball up would have been a touchdown for them If that play was called the opposite way which my entire adult life I've been watching football and whenever the ball goes backwards It seems like the other team gets the ball that's how the the game works Not this time and that costs the Saints here So multiple opportunities to pull off an upset I would say an impressive game for the Saints Because Staley didn't allow explosives on his side of the ball

But at the same time it took a full half to get this offense going But once they did it was just explosive after explosive Wow okay we've talked about I have this Josh We talked about all this and and I'm just looking at like Kendra Miller Hey Kendra Miller I know he's scoring the touchdown but nine carries to H&N's nine And I get the game script was very negative But it was like even with all the bad that was happening in New Orleans was always in it What the hell was that about? Kendra Miller actually getting touches on the field Yeah, this is probably the biggest fantasy takeaway Because I was just stunned that Kendra Miller was playing so often It was CJ Donaldson and like past protection by the way That's a undrafted rookie I believe I think it was the RB3 for the buck guys Comes in there with a very legitimate role maybe like a version of the Alvin Camaro role But it was actually Kendra Miller in like Travis H&N like splitting early down work Now at the same time Travis H&N because of game strips And this is going to happen when you ever you face the Detroit Lions

A career high nine targets They go for 32 yards they're scoreless But a career high targets for Travis H&N here I would still call this a stock down for him just because They were this game wasn't like that crazy in terms of game script is a wonky game But the game was like fairly tight for for a lot of it Kendra Miller was like literally taking snaps away from Travis H&N His touchdown was at the eight yard line But even then you're like why is Kendra Miller out there at the eight yard line for a touchdown opportunity So I would say one of the most surprising outcomes with Alvin Camaro and not even playing Yeah, I mean we've seen other running backs that were either traded for or signed this off season Get almost all the work and for Travis H&N not to get all the work in his debut after signing for that big contract I think is really massive and hey, and like you said if they didn't rediscover They could catch passes in the second half He wouldn't have those nine targets right when they're working from behind And then next week they face the Baltimore Ravens away So That's pretty terrifying if Travis H&N's not getting you know 70% of the work

And I don't know why would they they would change that from week one to week two I will say this we talk about neutral pace all the time and there's a reason for that The Saints had 90 plays on offense. I actually go to overtime and you're in in trail But offense is that play with that amount of pace you can kind of backway Into some fantasy production. So at least you have like that as some level before for all these type of players All right speaking of the Ravens. I'll close out this first grouping with Baltimore beating the Indianapolis Colts 41 to 23 the debut of Jesse mentor and especially officer coordinator Declan Doyle could not have gone any better For the Ravens. I mean the first player to shout out is our guy and I mean all of our guys save flowers Five catches 150 yards and a touchdown at halftime Unfortunately, that's when his game ended due to a hamstring string But his usage has to get really everyone excited like the first nap on the Ravens offense after an awesome return Was play action under center boot to the left

Zay flowers for 49 yards later on Declan Doyle put him attached to Lamar Jackson in the backfield on a second and nine He was uncovered due to blitzers on this like choice route And then he just runs it after the catch for 54 yards I mean he was moving at a different speed than anyone else on NFL field He looked the best he ever has and hopefully I can say that again once he returns to the field From his injury As for Derek Henry the running deck on the day 24 carries 144 yards three touchdowns Now he is third all time In rushing touchdowns in NFL history all time Derek Henry is I mean we we are witnessing History here in the making he is immortal. He looks like he's 27 years of age And I thought Declan Doyle really did a fantastic job with his partnership with the Marjaxon on some like zone read actions He got him pointed to the edge even dripped a 19 yard screen for him And I'll just close us out with the Marjaxon first drive cap of the Russian score inside the five yard line

You know they had two Russian Scords all of last season This is again a new offensive line in many ways a new play collar and I thought Lamar looked comfortable He looked poised he looked calm on the road And that's really all you can ask for in a debut with so many new pieces around him Yeah, how many of those Russia attempts were like design stuff versus him scrambling around and like this He like looked like the fully healthy Lamar Jackson here like the one that can go like toe to toe with Josh down for a season Yep fully healthy a couple of them were designed the other ones were scrambles where he was doing his best impression of Nio and you know Avoiding arm-linked tackles and you know backing up then moving forward then outrunning people to the edge and all that type of stuff He was sack twice. I believe he also maybe fumbled on a sack on top of it Yeah, it was a layout to lot to sack that farce Buckner picked up But Lamar was pinpoint and This you know jump from 31 points in the first half a really stalled once they flowers went down at halftime

And also Jacobi Lane missed the second half Jacobi Lane left with a wrist injury after basically getting three red zone targets on the same series One went for touchdown that was called back due to a holding and he got another one that got them down to about the four yard line And then ended that with an incomplete pass in the in zone But once you know the top two wide receivers went out it wasn't until a 53 yard catch and is only one of the day Two Chris Moore that really reignited this offense back to score the 10 points to really put this one away Yeah, Chris Moore in the year 2026 That's you know That's maybe not what you want Devon to his Walker was injured coming into this game. Elijah Sirot was a healthy scratch But I mean Josh three touchdowns for Derek Henry What I tell you bro way in Buffalo. I said he's gonna have double digit touch. He's got double digit touchdowns in his back pocket Coming into the season we're 30% of the way there. How about that? We already are and if he does that I mean it's an insane list of like Jerry Rice and Emmett Smith that he joins as again like the best to ever do it

Matt I do you want to put this back on you though because even when Zayflowers and Jacobi Lane Miss an entire half of action and Chris Moore goes one for 53 La Jante wester goes two for 15 I see all the way at the bottom Rashad Baytman one target zero reception zero yards. You can't even do it in that environment We're not we're not doing Rashad Baytman Okay, we're done with my therapist as I'm not allowed to talk about Rashad Baytman I don't know if you heard that so yeah Josh let me ask you Yeah, go ahead Can I ask you this because we did talk about this on the day to dump that over the last like three years The wide receiver two wide receiver two and Baltimore average is like four targets per game And I'm just looking at the box score Nobody likes old man mark Andrews, but I'm just looking at raw targets and I see Six there four mark Andrews and Lamar Jackson is one of the most efficient quarterbacks in NFL history If we're looking for like a lower in tight in play If Lane is out if Baytman's going to be a zero

I mean, what did you see from Andrews on the field? Um, he looked like he has in the last couple of years Which isn't that bad in comparison I think to what the beat writers said about him in training camp that it was a disaster and like his career might be Coming to a conclusion There was a bunch of like pre-snap motion and misdirection again all play action And I think that was kind of aiding mark Andrews in terms of not having to beat man coverage because you know Defensive will run a lot of zone obviously against Lamar Jackson And he's still just really good at finding these soft spots and soft areas and not offering much effort to catch But he was there and even Matthew had me or popped up for a catch for 13 yards on top it Okay, quickly over to the colts End of this the first drive was simply outstanding like Shane Siken sliced right through Jesse Miner's defense Just like he did last year against the chargers. There were two key Josh Downs receptions on that drive third down conversions The first one third and three after an audible by Daniel Jones So 25 yard shake route with plenty of yards. I have to catch and then later on a 12 yard gain on third

Nate after Josh Downs got motion He opened the game Shane Siken seven straight dropbacks But after that opening drive touchdown the drives went interception punt punt fumble and punt And they were down 31 to 13 at half So Jonathan Taylor still looked freaking awesome with 19 caries for 98 yards and two scores Tyler Warren didn't get his touchdown until late It kind of felt like he was the sacrificial player in this almost having to stay closer to the line of scrimmage to really Take account for everything that Jesse Miner was doing on the edges in terms of pressure looks and all that type of stuff And then Alec Pierce had two downfield targets That were pass breakups because it was perfect coverage by Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins And I kind of wonder if he maybe has lost five to 10% of his juice right now Then other previous years like last year he'd be able to separate it and come down with those grabs But does finish most of this at the end with four catches for 61

I would think that as a win for Alec Pierce like as long as he didn't have a setback He played about half of the routes there And yeah, at least put some numbers out there. I feel like that's that's enough to keep me somewhat confident over the next couple weeks So we can end up starting him Looking at the numbers Josh Downs he did play in most of the non 11 personnel stuff That's that's that's pretty exciting and then I think that's exciting and so you look at two for 37 yards basically I was gonna say 48 to 54 snaps and got two for for 37 in a game that they lost by 18 points It was a lot more than the Jones look in the backup points Yeah, what a Jones look like Yeah, it's The first drug was so good that I was like, oh man This is right back where everyone was saying that this team is gonna be and then uh, he I think through an awful interception on the second series where he tried to High low row quan smith and row quan was like no, I'm just gonna stay in the middle of this and tip it to myself and come down with this Catch and there was very little movement from Daniel Jones on top of it Jesse Miner has this defense flying around

Yeah, you know the edge rushers the defense tackles Cal Hamilton was you know a deep safety a slot corner and then blitzing off the edge on top of it So it just felt like this colts offense was not ready for for what the defense brought to the table And then Keenan Allen I do want to say played the second most snaps with that was down at 36 a 54 among wider receivers He had the first catch of the game, but uh, yeah, I mean just six for 32 might be something we kind of keep in mind here And yet again Tyler Warren played 50 a 54 just not his day when it comes to being heavily involved from the start Okay, if there's no more questions we'll keep it moving Football is here and draft kings is adding to this season's thrill with an offer for new customers Score a three dollar entry on draft kings for a shot at a share of a million dollars new customers deposit five dollars And get a three dollar entry ticket download draft kings and get in on the action with code jh fantasy That's code jh fantasy and partnership with draft kings the crown is yours gambling problem call

I mean we've already talked about some and I mean just a couple of

The biggest shocks and surprises of the day We were waiting on you to start this episode Because I look down and I could have sworn that the packers were up by two for 59 minutes and then they lose by 17 to the Minnesota Vikings 39 to 22 I didn't see a single second this contest How the heck did the Vikings with Carson Wentz as they're starting quarterback beat the Packers by 17 Yeah, don't type in the floor right now on Twitter Packers fans are completely irate I totally get this one because the Packers felt like they were the better team for quite a while The Vikings blitzed on 87% of the Packers dropbacks 87% That's gotta be some type of record. Yes Now the Packers knew this was coming they face Brian Flores all the time They were able to get a couple of explosives early on in the game Christian Watson on a Incut he kind of deets where the other linebacker's supposed to be on a blitz route He takes it was easily the most athletic guy in the football field takes it for an 81 yard touchdown

There's a couple other place for Christian Watson including when he's gonna like insert block and the kind of leaks out for a red zone touchdown So he's not just mr. 80 yard touchdown. He's gonna get involved at the goal line his season looks like it's gonna be pretty awesome Matthew Golden he has 12 targets in this one. There's some in cut Opportunities for Matthew Golden 42 yard or out there I thought that he passed the test played most of the snaps But what happened with the Packers is they had explosives But there was no level of consistency here Jordan love gets sacked four times. That's what happens when you have 87% blitzes coming your way And the Packers could not run the ball what so ever is under four yards per carry march on Lloyd Has more carries than Chris books, but Chris Brooks actually started this game Chris Brooks was out there in a lot of the past protection Because the Vikings were bringing so much pressure and you're not gonna trust march on Lloyd out there So a pretty quiet day for the running back group at large But that's one of the problems with the Packers like it's so hard for them to kind of stay on schedule here And if you're not hitting the huge explosives all of a sudden this offense feels a little bit stuck

So in the second half very conservative game planning until Matt Matt LaFlor and the Late in the game they're up by a couple points by five points here They it's like a fourth and six the trace mac who nailed a couple long field goals in this one He hits his field go here to make them go up eight There's a penalty on the Vikings the Packers decide to accept the penalty to go to fourth and one on that fourth and one They do a quarterback sneak that gets stuffed so instead of taking this game to go up by eight They choose to try to make this like a true two score game And it backfires and a lot of the models were saying actually should just take the points there Next possession Vikings go all the way down the field score a touchdown By the way, this is all with Carson Wentz mind you and then later on the game Jordan Love as he gets strip sacked. There's interception as well on a ball that's like past deflected And then the Vikings end up just having a couple of

A couple of explosives to Jordan Mason air and Jones scores rushing touchdown Jordan Mason scores A rushing touchdown and a Justin Jefferson completely balls out So this game was sloppy to start for the Vikings end of this They stayed competitive and then at the end of the game the Packers side is saying it just could not pick up a normal first down And a lot of it is because of Brian Flores Okay, since it's a fantasy relevant question. I guess we just have to ask Josh Shakim is going to miss more games than week two Chris Brooks. I know Matt point this out. I know Reyes point this out. I know all of us have that he was most likely Gonna play the most snaps or a lot of them because of his past pro and recognition and all that type of stuff But from your eye test Did Marsh on Lloyd pass it? Is this someone that can be a flex option moving forward? I think next week you got the jets and then you got the Falcons I think over those two games I think there's gonna be enough points here to go around where Marsh on Lloyd could be a flex He is definitely not an RB two though. They're Marsh on Lloyd. I thought was he's very dancing and like you're supposed to have a jump cuts as a running back

Sometimes his jump cuts are like a little bit too jumpy for me and they try to get them on the big wheel route Yes, you guys watch you'll you'll notice this and I think the other big takeaway and this is all all kind of comes together The interior offensive line for the Packers is a huge problem both of their guards stink out loud stink out loud and that's not changing whether it's Josh Jacobs or whoever else is out there This team's gonna live and die by the explosives now I think they're gonna get a bunch of that the entire game Jordan love was like on his backflip just throw on bombs down the field and they did have some fun Explosives including to two to Tucker craft who's about a half-time player in this one But if they can't run the ball and their corners are left on islands again Justin Jefferson can absolutely smoke the entire game with Carson Wentz at quarterback This team seems like kind of like fools gold to me and I do think that this Packers team unless Michael Parsons comes back And unless they figure out this offensive line, which I'm not banking on like this Packers team is gonna be very very frustrating Yeah, that sounds about what I was expecting honestly from the Packers

So I'll be interested to go back and rewatch on the Viking side of things Hayden Pretty any read on like the running back situation in terms of the split between the two guys like how did the run game look overall You know that's something they really said they wanted to commit to like did they actually commit to it Darius. I had a couple awesome runs to spring some explosives I think the there's a nice touchdown Aaron Jones where he was out in front and then obviously the Jordan Mason is a 28 yard I felt like it felt like a lot more than 28 yards Maybe Jordan Mason's not that fast and that they felt like he was running for so long But not actually picking up that many yards They both scored goal line touchdowns. I think Aaron Jones is from four yards out Jordan Mason was actually from like one yard out. So it's gonna be a pretty even split Neither of them were like really used in the past game like even Aaron Jones goes catchless and this one the entire past game was to Justin Jefferson there was a Free play situation where Carson Wentz Looks to his right Justin Jefferson's to his left. He kind of realizes like oh, maybe I should throw this ball up to Justin Jefferson if it's a free play finally does it in the back of the end zone Justin Jefferson comes down with it

There's a couple times where Justin Jefferson's working behind the line of scrimmage after the ball is snapped As little like leak routes to the flats both of those were in the red zone one of them he takes for a touchdown The other one just a simple reception there But just the fact that Carson Wentz can make this often flick functional is like Makes the Jay Jim McCarthy stuff from last year like so much more damning like say it like truly so much more damning The Jefferson floor this year feels so much higher And hopefully we get Kyle the Murray Back he was pretty much knocked unconscious In the first quarter of that one so really bummed out for Kyle the Murray will see if he comes back Next week or not that least Carson Wentz like this is not the Jay Jim McCarthy splits This is more like you know Nick Mullins. It's more like Kurt Cousins T. Arroud and then like the Jay Jim McCarthy stuff Yeah, I mean The The Carson Wentz of it all it just shows you that if your name isn't Jay Jim McCarthy or Max Brozmer Just and Jefferson's gonna get there it really is that's it is that talented that he's gonna get there

Hey, just to close us out We've got two lesser wider receivers on each team that barely did anything Okay, so I understand that the Packers out yarded out gained the Vikings 419 to 239 By the way, they'll lost by 17 doing that which is absolutely bonkers But we mentioned that Watson had 147 and two scores method gold 95 yards I see Jayne Reed for three catches for 20 yards and then I see Jordan Addison with a total goose egg on two targets Yeah, I'll start with Jayden Reed 64% of the routes in this game They did not mix in another wide receiver very much I will say like the last play of the game was a incomplete pass to sky more on a fourth and two So like we had like some of that element but not as much as pre-experience years That was fast for you guys down there Instead the Packers did use a real four tight end rotation That was because Tucker Kraft is not a full-time player in this one craft ran 20 of 46 routes It was like John who Smith mark Redmond Josh Wiley those guys were playing at the expense of Jayden Reed

I would say this is the same exact situation that Jayden Reed has been in for his entire career If you guys like that keep him if you don't like that I don't like that personally Um, and it does seem like Matthew Golden is like the more explosive version of Romeo dobs Romeo dobs is a wider seaver three in fantasy last year. I can easily see Matthew Golden Just a one for one replacing that as Christian Watson I think has a chance to be a real upside wide receiver two And then final question before we get out here Tucker Kraft said he was gonna play about 50% of the snaps until half Recycling the season you said he get two explosives Anything I test wise you gonna bring up here with Tucker Kraft uh both of them a wide open and I thought he looked totally fine It just seems like they're pretty committed to Tucker Kraft being in a part-time rotation 20 of 46 uh Routes on the drop-backs out there typically you know is 85 90 percent So I think this is gonna be a multi-week uh scenario for Tucker Kraft He's more of like an upside tied-in two than like you have to start tied-in one now like we'll get to like Harold Fandon-Copitz we chopped off a lot of tight ends and fans who maybe he's still as a top 10

Tied-in, but this is not the Tucker Kraft that you were drafting uh hoping for like the November and December production All right, Matt we'll send it to you next I mean what game should we go with here? Let's go Tampa Bay in Cincinnati All right, okay your guy Baker may feel that you hyped up all morning long uh in the day with 216 zero touchdowns zero interceptions 27 points Uh looks like he does a bit too much four sacks and a fumble on top of it Meanwhile, maybe we should start here with the Cincinnati Bengals and the winning team Joe Burrell 2535 254 1 score and like I let off with T Higgins 3 for 59 Jermar chase 2 for 12 So of course Micah Sikki goes Five receptions 78 yards and one score so much talk of this Bengals offense looking different with under center dropbacks wasn't that different? Uh, no They had five dropbacks from under center four of them came in the second quarter that amounted to three of five for 29 yards

So they pretty much were like okay, that's cute. We're gonna stop doing that 2.36 time to throw when Joe Burrell was in the gun Despite the sub 16% pressure rate so there was a couple of like oh yeah Joe Burrell's under pressure here But it wasn't just like they're getting overwhelmed from a pass protection standpoint. It just I don't it's The the Bengals defense won them this game and maybe the bucks like shooting themselves in the foot won themselves this game Honestly, and this is one of the more successful week one outings for the Bengals whether you look at like the Xactail or Joe Burrell era when they've been out there But it was not because of the offense whatsoever. This is This offense felt very weird all day long Joe Burrell probably throws one of the worst passes of the day a pick six to Josiah Trotter which is just like I don't know what he was looking at I mean trot it you can watch the replay of it trotter is like eyes on him all the way reading what he's gonna do He just throws it right to him and he takes it for a pick six Which was the best thing at the the bucks defense probably did all day because those linebackers otherwise

We're kind of getting worked in the underneath area. So 10 of 40 from under center for chase brown six of 16 from the gun. So it was just like When we can get under center and run the football looks pretty good But we're not gonna do that from the shotgun and we're not gonna throw from under center So it pretty much looked like all those august storylines went into trash right away Hmm This bingles offense and joe burrow specifically have been slow starters Matt Unfortunately for them they also get the Houston Texas defense on the road next week. So One of those teams is gonna bounce back you know this bingles offense from this passing game standpoint or the Texas defense next week So hopefully this was just kind of early season growing pains, but at least for the bingles Matt going through that They still won the contest and typically the bingles don't win the early season stuff And really it's exactly how we said it should be over the last few years at the defense finally bailed out the offense in a way And their defense was flying around like I'll give them a lot of credit there You definitely felt the difference of having some improved players there and like the linebackers were also

Definitely much improved now again bottom was The the bar was in hell in terms of what the linebackers did last year, but it was a slight improvement this year Not perfect for sure on that side of the ball Like I said a lot of it was I think Tampa Bay making their own mistakes here on this one But certainly a better improve improved performance by that defense for sure All right Oh, go ahead Josh go ahead. No you go I mean I just the elephant in the room man Jamar chase T Higgins they didn't do anything like that nothing is this was this just the byproduct of Rusty week one. I mean four targets for chase like just What was going on like what why Why did we not get more Jamar chase looks in this one like people want to know this was why receiver one two for everybody coming to the week It is to just this was a bus performance from Jamar chase. There's no way to to sugar code it like what did you see? I don't honestly, I don't really know they because you never really pushed the football down the field to these guys I they were just getting it out quickly

Lot of just like I said get in the gun and get it to micaseki in the slot all of micaseki's production came when lined up as a slot receiver Except his one touchdown Which was when he was lined up out wide So it was a lot of that trying to take advantage of the middle of the field coverage and just not really throwing it to into the teeth In the perimeter there for Cincinnati So probably like a there's no big takeaways here just stuff happens in terms of Jamar chase But I did think it was a little odd that they never tried to kind of get him going a lot with the underneath stuff So to me it was just kind of a random performance, but it just comes to just this weird Just jointed NIST that the Bengals offense kind of carries right now, but hopefully that's just a one week blip Okay, gotta ask about the bucks because there were some Much more interesting stuff we had Yeah, we we had in August about the scene first talk me through like the buck yearving kidney gain well passing down Breadzone usage stuff and then hit on Emekik Buka Chris Godwin with a Buka going five for sixty three on six targets and Chris Godwin four for 40 on his four targets

Yeah, and all of a Buka's Production came in the first half to didn't do anything in the second half nothing there They were a pretty purely 11 personnel team in this one 83% of their plays came out of 11 personnel That's 36% higher than the NFL average according to sumer sports and it did pretty much look like what we thought Where Chris Godwin was in the slot he was he was like the big slot receiver and Becca Buka moving around And then Ted Hurst was absolutely sacrificial extra receiver in this one he had one Pre-ed one pretty cool catch for his first NFL reception along the sideline But otherwise averages 1.3 yards per route in 11 personnel and yeah They didn't really dabble in any heavy personnel work But the big fantasy story is that Bucky Irving I mean pretty bullish Pass game usage for him He runs more routes in 11 personnel 59% of the routes 11 personnel 27% targets per route run productive like intentional usage he has a couple of Nice catches on third down in this like and I thought he looked explosive right away as a rush or two

So I thought Bucky Irving comes out of this one as a really really big winner and You know you can kind of say that this is like a little bit of excuse making and I think you could do this too for The next team I'm going to talk about here in a minute. It's a new play collar There's a lot more like motions and shifts and you could tell the bucks were just really disorganized in that part of it in terms of like Zach Robinson They're asking them to do a lot but I mean the the turnovers were just abysmal Baker may feel sack fumble touchdown on the first one Bucky then on third and 14 check down. He fumbles it Baker his second his second fumble is like a really nice little Scramble to get out of pressure in the red zone And he does this like really exaggerated juke move that he looks like he's like the uncle at the turkey bowl And then right after that fumbles it into the end zone and then like he just got really greedy and carry Carried away there just careless it careless stuff And then he has another sack fumble after that one So it was the full Baker may feel to experience in this game. There's no question about that

Hey now want to ask you We're going to talk about this in stats versus film But I would take this with Bucky Irving having what a short yardage touchdown seven receptions on top of this that Bucky Irving behind this offensive line Might be one of the biggest winners in face of all week one Yeah, I think yeah, there's kind of cut this thing into half some of the round five running backs looked bad And some of them looks good. I think Bucky passes the test here. I was gonna just quickly say like what's the point of kind of game Well fantasy he runs a route on 36% of dropbacks He would not be a bell cowback if there was an injury here This was the negative game script. They were down 24 to 10 going into halftime The bangle's defense is set up for receptions underneath with their linebacker core Sean Tucker was out if it's not going to happen at all with Kenny gainwell here Then like what truly is the point like why would you rather have him then tank big V mic Washington You named the backup running back with the actual fantasy appeal if you're starting Kenny gainwell fantasy You've been eliminated. So like there's no point to be even rostering right now. Hey, hey, didn't you Aaron Rogers likes to talk about Sia's and stuff like that the biggest sia that Aaron Rogers has ever been a part of is that he made us think that Kenny gainwell's like some kind of

Pass game weapon because he just checked Evvy to him over and over again Yeah, I mean was running like legit down food routes and that is never going to be replicated and other offense because the Stea there's water seepers like did not exist last year. Yeah, Bucky's gonna rank high I think for boon in our running back rankings this Wednesday because they face the cleavum browns And in week two he looked great All right, he looked great. He was most consistent player probably on the offense outside of either like I said third and 14 checkdown fumble All right, I'll go to the NFC east next as the foot of eagles squeak by the Washington commanders 24 to 22 this was not a clean debut for Sean manians eagle offense Their run game did not seem in sync early on. I mean sake one had a sick 42 yard run where he made two commanders Run into each other at the line of scrimmage then made Mike Samor still stand still at the third level But earlier in the game he was seen like yelling on the sideline to the offensive line saying like we got to get this right in terms of the run blocking

He was hit behind the line of scrimmage on seven of his opening 12 runs It looked a whole lot like 20 25 and not in the good way and I mean I even saw eagles fans questioning if landing Dickerson is done so. I mean he had penalties instant disruption Sacks like tackles for loss. It was brutal and cam jurgens wasn't that much better than him But the passing game for the eagles actually looked like the best part. I mean jell and hurts finishes 14 to 25 203 and three big touchdowns and the big time receiver in the first half I love myself a post-type sleeper. Let's go that is don tavian wicks 64 yard pass to don tavian wicks early on out of 13 personnel under center a perfect ball over the head of Mike Samor still that drive ends in a touchdown Dallas got her down the scene from hurts for defenders Four virts perfectly placed later on the red zone you get done to having wicks versus again Mike Samor still great route versus the corners inside leverage a fade away throw

From jalen hurts makes it 14 to three and then yes to bonte smith checked in a bit later on with the sweet side I'm grabbing 33 third and five for 33 yards and Dallas got her got his second touchdown Actually legitimately running away from the commander's defense that was just very confused In their coverage. I do want to shout out this commander's defense though like derontay Jones Got them ready in many ways Sonny styles had an unreal sack where he ran through I think a nice Blocked by sake one barkley, but submarine Tim like just threw him to the turf and sacks jalen hurts Javan Kennell was popping up It just looked a lot more creative and had some interesting Minnesota Vikings wrinkles to it And they gave jalen hurts in this equals offense a lot of fits and if my sake one barkley prediction is gonna pay off this new rushing scheme has to look a whole lot better in week two ray Yeah, and I don't know how it's going to because the offensive line was shaky last year it was shaky last year

If you would have told me one defense was going to have 10 tackles for a loss and five quarterback hits I thought it would be Philadelphia's defense against an inoperable offense that everyone said the commanders was But it was the complete opposite like Give them a ton of credit, but yeah, I'm with you Josh. I've got high hopes for sake one barkley He still see some of the sweet moves that he has when he hits the open field when he's one on one It's it's lunch. It's barbecue chicken for sake one barkley I'm just looking at the numbers and the box score here 25 attempts for hurts 25 attempts from hurts and we're saying that this was the best kind of part of the offense It's just gonna be slim pickings going around looking at these pass catchers if Goddard's gonna have his role Wicks Smith and then I'm looking at that three for negative five Josh. I'm looking at three That up Talk to me. Yeah, I mean we talked about some zeros for Jordan Addison and Colson, Loveland MacKyle lemon and if you're to standardly gave you negative points on three catches for negative five yards

He did have a three yard gain, but then he had a couple negative screen passes on it as well to get himself some some negative yardage So this is like the Devonte Smith done Tavine Wicks Dallas Goddard show at the early part. I will add some of those 25 dropbacks Was more because Jalen hurts hey, and you brought this up all summer long look leaner Looks meaner look like his scrambling self Seven carries for 46 yards including like a pivotal I think like a third and 18 that he runs up the gut for 22 yards So that was his JL out of free card, you know a couple of years ago or even last year in one contest But he probably looks just as good as he didn't like 2024 running the football Yeah, that's encouraging. I didn't like that you said that land in Dickerson might be the one That's kind of falling apart because he was the one that seemed like the most just like the most downside because of the injuries And like he was contemplating retirement like this is gonna be the weak one showing with like quite frankly a bunch of no Namer's like the man has had more pressures than the Eagles did in this game like that

That to me is is worrisome for for Philadelphia I will say on the past catchers Goddard wicks lemon smith they were all out there for at least 29 of the 35 dropbacks like this offense Really is like not about snap rates. It's like let the best man win over the course of the season I feel pretty confident it's gonna be Devon to smith by himself and the rest of these guys kind of alternating But we don't have to worry about like Makai lemon not playing enough snaps like if he's good in this offense He will appear That the might just take a little bit of time Yeah, and I'll add that will shiply was in there for like the one minute drive Which was interesting to me that it wasn't sake one um just something you keep in mind and back your head on the commanders front Feel bad for David blow Drawing your first time being a play caller Uh up against this defense like big fan Joe not fun first draw And it showed I mean tear McClaurne did not get a catch until 434 left in the game We somewhat expected that you know that you get fangioed you get quinion Mitchell and reek woolen on the outside

Um Brandon Coleman allowed a ton of pressures at left tackle They kind of consistently found themselves behind the sticks and and behind schedule And so that forced Jane danos into this playmaker style and he popped up here with you know Some really cool scrambles on a 14 yarders spin moves all that type of stuff with five carries for 31 But then the day just 18 of 34 164 two touchdowns like the gimme's weren't there for this team. I think Stefan digs gonna had two drops that would have shortened the sticks A bit more but they made it close in the end, you know They were a two point conversion away from sending this to overtime basically at 2424 And then again, David blow pops up of hey the gotta have it short yardage play I run a shovel pass to uh john baits and that's when we're gonna go home and start oh and one with Yeah, you know not what you want in terms of the uh play call there Josh I did note that Antonio Williams rookie receiver Yeah, it's the most productive receiver on the day and but he is sixth in routes uh what what happened with that one So it's funny. I mean all training camp we heard that trailer on berks was starting as an outside wide receiver

And trailer on berks was out there on the field today But like you said, Antonio Williams pops up for 464 and one compared to Stefan digs 455 and one and then chig left about half time And he was a third best receiver with two for 16 with an injury And two new Williams was running a bunch of like condensed splits slot ish stuff even at times He was the outside wide receiver and just kind of running across the formation and outrunning those corners That were kind of trailing him or in in zone coverage and as for digs he was Again kind of schooling kupertagine. We've seen some of these like veteran old-school slot ish wide receivers Like Stefan digs did this to him adam thielin did this to kupertagine and just kind of route him up at the top um And you know digs scored a really nice touchdown and then celebrated by sliding down the uh touchdown pole on top of it so uh never change but in never change at that point The commanders were only down by two and so then his celebration penalty forced them into like a 45-yard extra point

Try and prohibited them from trying to go for two to tie up the game That was like 16 16 at the at the moment. So uh Yes, that fun digs never change Josh cannot can i ask you we talked about kind of game well being a sire up running back Yes, the i test for me look like bill crosskey marit I don't care that it says 3.9 in a 10 t looked like bifle part the best running back like what are we doing with reshot right He's supposed to be this past catching maven he had what one catch two catches on the day is is this the bill backfield? Should it be the bill crosskey marit backfield It should absolutely be the bill Backfield and his first carry went for 10 yards like his second carry whip for 11 yards He got the goal line touchdown on top of that He just has more juice more strength than reshot white they actually kept reshot white in there for one third and one He got suffer loss obviously and they had to punt Look if you have jane daniel's at quarterback You're not going to dump it off to reshot white often like that is the theory of the play with the reshot white

They have a pocket passer that he racks up some ppr scam stuff And you just don't do that when your jane daniel's can extend and get to the sidelined or throw it away or sometimes scramble on top of it So Yeah, reshot white still not an effective runner I will add that bill fumbled a bit later on Josh kindly fell on it So it didn't turn into a negative play and then ktron island did pop in there for a couple of those runs after bill But when they go back and review it again just the size the movement the power of bill Just totally overshadows what for shot white brings the tape player and how did jaden look just just like how did he look He was injured last year did he look did he look good did he did you do good about him moving forward he looked fine okay I mean he took some hits he got back up And there were some off-target passes it looked like a new offense again. They had some mechanical uh You know false starts Formation some weird timeouts from danquan. It just looked like they were in the first time of a new offense

I don't want to judge them too harshly for facing vick fein jio because I think that's like the worst thing to roll up on on week one I'm in wait and see with this commander's offense. It did feel at times ray I wonder if it's gonna make sense that david blad was like Calling plays at times versus running an offense like they would do the under center stuff because now it's everything's involved And that's exactly what the league is supposed to do and yet it just ended with jane daniel's running for his life And it was just out of a different formation and different look So we'll see I'm I'm in wait and see mode for For david blad okay matt. We're gonna send it back to you to close up this one Uh It's the upset of the day. I mean it has to be the upset of the day as what nine and a half point underdogs As the Arizona cardinals beat the L.A. Chargers not by a little bit, but by 12 points 26 to 14 you have been cardinals curious this entire summer and it paid off maybe Yeah, I was gonna say when the Hayden mentioned don't search la flore on twitter if you're gonna do it

Just make sure you get the right La flore Because man is is Mike La flore the new guy People are saying uh we'll see how I can get you guys cardinals curious by the end of this recap because they were By far not even close the better team on the field today. It was well. This is wow This is a this is embarrassing for this is an embarrassing game for the chargers Just just straight up like I do want to talk about the cardinals first But you know when I was gonna say like well, you know Bucks new offensive coordinator Zach Robinson you know Mike me danger new offensive coordinator here. These are complicated offences with a lot of shifts A lot of motion. We saw the bears and the jags kind of struggle with this last year with new play callers Taking over what were very static offences previously At the same time you can give all those same caveats to the team on the other side here in the Arizona cardinals And this team there looked crisp they handled everything really professionally like jicovers set in the first half was in total control of this offense 16 completions on 21 pass attempts all three of his top pass catchers there

McBride, Marv, Wilson all of them lost like what I would call tough catches none of them were just like oh man That's a drop or something like that. It was just really tough like kind of you got to adjust to it He may be threw it a little bit where he didn't want it They had to extend for it and then he had a risky throw away Win in the grasp of Khalil Mac to avoid running out the clock to close the first half But that those were his only like real incompletions overall he was like I said in total control of this offense Jeremiah love you immediately just like oh yeah that guy's really good at football Like first first touchdown on the opening drive it was it was five touches to four Between Jeremiah love and Tyler Aljure in the opening quarter and it's just like yeah one of these guys Moves differently like it's really good to have him out there and like kind of winning in tight Spaces at the line of scrimmage just finding an extra lane as a dump-off receiver to just keeping the offense moving It's like yeah, I know third overall running back value whatever kind of helpful to have that guy

On the offense and the other guy we got to give a shout out to Kendrick born just does his best Khalif Raymond in premise as the like hey, I know that I've worked with the coach previously I know this offense boys like saddle up for a lot of targets to Kendrick boy. He was awesome in this game So yeah, percent Obviously McBride was was McBride Jeremiah love and then the receivers kind of chipped in along the way Mark had a really nice 33 yard tight coverage win along the sideline Michael Wilson kind of started slow but picked up later has about 50 yards in this game So like I said just really organized really crisp and they ultimately ran 72 plays to 51 For the chargers the chargers would just go long periods without having the ball because the drives were about equals 11 drives to Arizona 10 to Los Angeles, but just The Cardinals could stay on the field and the chargers couldn't Matt, let's spin this forward because the Cardinals and the next two games I'm glad they won in week one. It's Seattle and San Francisco over the next day, right What do you expect with the backfield? Obviously Jeremiah love gets there. He scores a touchdown 11 carries 41

I'm surprised it's only two receptions for nine yards Do you think the backfield is going to look with this split or as Jeremiah love still recovers from the high equal spray It's just going to be more and more and more in his direction I think it'll just be more and more in Jeremiah's direction. He just is pretty clearly I mean Al Jures not going to go away. He's a good back and you know He did help them early on and grind things out late Like he'll still be involved, but I think it will tilt more and more to the rookies favor Okay, and then one follow up on the Cardinals I see McBride nine for 95 and one. I see Michael Wilson five for 56 that doesn't even mention Kendrick Warren's eight for 75 If you're saying that this offense is well coached and it was on point and they were ready to play I see Marvin Harrison junior three targets one reception 33 yards like I don't want to say it's over ready But like that's yeah kind of Fifth option on this offense it seems that's to see The born stuff definitely throws a wrench. I think for both of these wide receivers

Which I liked I mean I drafted a ton of Michael Wilson and kind of sprinkled in Marvin Harrison So the born variable is definitely one I probably wish I had considered a little bit more because He's a good player like I said he was with Michael floor when they were together as the wide receiver coach with San Francisco 49ers like I don't think he's going away He runs a route on about 77% of the dropbacks, which was you know a decent bit behind both Wilson McBride and Harrison But when he was out there he was getting targeted So that definitely throws a wrench in any like Marvin Harrison junior big leap forward Michael Wilson sustaining what he did last year Because obviously train McBride is the guy and you know was the one we all ranked the highest I wouldn't say it's I definitely don't think it's over for Marv like he did again He had one really nice reception in this game But you know is he someone I'm starting against the Seahawks next week. No definitely not Okay, I lost the questions with the chargers because Matt I saw Three catches for like 60 yards on the opening drive that lad McConkey and Mike McDaniel had together

And I was like I'm gonna eat good all season long the chargers are just gonna put it on the board Week after week drive after drive And then what he exits the game after seven targets five receptions 82 yards in a touchdown and no one can function from there What the hell happened? I mean this If you were one of the people you know, I was one of these people I think I think you guys all were that thought that it's lad McConkey and then like okay There's some interesting players, but like a pretty significant drop off between one and two You absolutely felt that the moment that lad left this game because I mean first drive It's three completions for 60 yards From Justin Herbert in Mike McDaniel's offense. They all go to lad McConkey 18 yards 23 yards 19 yards Explosive play is doing he's exactly what you would imagine from him his fourth target is a long pass Interference on first and 20 then he has another 14 yard catch a touchdown in the red zone and then you know Justin Herbert kind of throws it a little high on an in breaking route Later in the game and he just gets popped in the ribs and that's kind of like

This is a little bit of the lad McConkey experience, right? It's he's looks really great I love him as a player, but my one question with him is like does he have the body to sustain a lot of punishment One weekend and kind of a discouraging answer and like you said Josh they could not function After he was gone the charge average 12.4 yards to go on third down today That's one of the more disgusting stats and then I mean late in this game the chart This is from Jordan Rodriguez our friend who also is Cardinal Scareous by the way Chargers were down 23 to 14 offense takes over penalty penalty penalty pass break up Burn a time out to avoid it delay of game penalty pass for 12 yards on third and 30 Short pass on fourth and 18 penalty turn over on downs like it was Not good like the offensive line was probably worse than we would have expected The run game was you know like Amarin Hampton had some moments Keaton Mitchell was mixing in a lot earlier than I would have thought but

Hampton like It looks great when he's just going downhill, but you know We got to kind of change directions a little bit faster there a lot of questions for this this one coming out here I didn't mean to spend more time on the run game though because I think this was like you're gonna get explosive And that's gonna help Herbert kind of calm things down a little bit They had negative yards were contacted in this one the Chargers. Yeah, the line was not good That's that's really bad I haven't loved Amarin Hampton's vision so I can't wait to go back and watch this big All right, this is the guards fault or this is the centers fault or is this a Hampton's fault? And I do think that Keaton Mitchell mixing in there just a little bit That's kind of like how Amarin Hampton get like finished as like the RB 12 instead of like the RB7 or something like that So yeah super disappointing season or game for Hampton and and Justin Herbert Yep Matt like I don't want to take this too far so often There are things after week one that stay as fact for the next 17 weeks But there's always like those one or two games that we jumped conclusions and we look stupid for jumping to conclusions

I am at least hoping that the Chargers are one of these teams that just put their worst foot forward in week one And it just gets better from here, but I don't know some of the things that you're talking up of how that might not come to pass Leesme nervous as in poor blocking. Yeah, guards in her guard combo not great wide receivers behind lad Mcconkey I mean QJ does nothing here tre Harris does nothing here Aronde Gatson 2 for 32 and then once lab leaves it's David and joku for five for 58 What are you doing? And like I said just completely overwhelmed on the interior offensive line in the run and past game So you know that's definitely going to make the receivers look worse But I certainly don't think they have anything more than a maybe interesting wide receiver 3 and quentin johnson and a maybe interesting rotational player in tre Harris Behind lad mcconkey So he definitely is the straw that stirs the drink on this one and when he was out of there like I said They just they had absolutely nothing in the second half which was super discouraging I wouldn't I'm not gonna full on panic on the Chargers and like I said to be fair even though the Cardinals

beat this accusation I do think like what the jags looked like in the first half last year in the bears is instructive It's a new offense. It's really complicated a lot of changes And that that can cause a team to look disjointed and hopefully they pick it up here in short order, but really discouraging debiol Matt, I'll just say This was pretty damn disappointing this card no team everybody projected them to be the worst team in the NFL Pick a number one overall lowest amount of touchdown scored in there on the road and they put bta on the Chargers I mean have them look pretty bad when I was watching them. I'm like come on dude like This is yeah, they need to get it together that this was this is inexcusable in my opinion Right to that point like the Chargers need to start fast your two opening games where the Cardinals and the Raiders and then after that It's Buffalo Seattle both on the road then Denver, Kansas City The Rams the Texans and the Ravens like you had to start to know this season

So they better freaking bounce back next week against the Raiders or else we're in a big big big trouble here Football is here and draft kings is adding to this season's thrill with an offer for new customers Score a three dollar entry on draft kings for a shot at a share of a million dollars new customers deposit five dollars And get a three dollar entry ticket download draft kings and get in on the action with code jh fantasy That's code jh fantasy in partnership with draft kings the crown is yours gambling problem call 1 800 gambler New York call 878 hope and why or text hope and why Connecticut call 8887897777 or visit ccpg.org 18 plus in most states Extractions apply reward issued as one non withdrawal will three dollar ticket valid for use on entry to any three dollar fantasy contest Expires in 14 days see terms at draft kings dot com slash promos ends October 12, 2026 at 1159 pm eastern

And is also the team's leading receiver six receptions 45 and two scores Yeah, I thought I thought his ankle was broken. I thought it was hanging on by a thread Prayer candles and circles turning the music down Ashen genty became only the 10th player since 1999 with 100 rushing yards and at least two receiving TDs In the same regular season game. I mean he looked great Great as as as the primary running back Michael mayor led them in targets. So he was the Brock Bauer's replacement He was not Brock Bauer's levels of good almost fumbled the ball in this one But I'll just say the biggest takeaway watching this was Clint kubiak was very much In command the offense look good the Raiders put up 27 points in this one and is is is nasty as the game felt like My name is just so young y'all. This is the youngest team in the league. I didn't think I didn't think Malik Willis was great, but he wasn't he also wasn't awful in this matchup But it was just it was too much ashen genty

Downhill in the receiving game He was everything for the Raiders. I thought Mike Washington played well But this is somebody you do not want to flex You don't want to play those games. There was nothing from Trey Tucker nothing from Jalen, Naylor One of Kirk cousins interceptions actually came on another target to jack bashew squad to touch down in this one It'll be interested in the watches snaps and his participation moving forward But the big takeaway is it's genty's going to be this involved on the ground and through the air It he's he's gonna be awesome. He was incredible in this one And I can only imagine how much better you can get down the line Clint kubiak was great Mike he just called an awesome game plan at one point and like a nine-minute drive just eating up clock Just they they played really good ball against obviously a very young and not very good team in Miami But the Raiders were the Raiders were solid for their first outing Yeah, I love seeing no sacks for Kirk cousins like to me like that's like a sign of good coaching Is like is there free rushers coming out you hitting your quarterback? Because they're like negative four yard carries all the time it does not seem like we had that much about rate

Explained like ash and genty like types of targets I think both of those were what end-done targets to like leak out like was this design stuff like what level of receptions Could we expect from ash and genty here? Oh no man. He was looking like CMC out there Hey, it wasn't it wasn't just like swing routes out of the backfield I mean his first touchdown. I mean he was it was downfield There were some yards down there right and had a nice little angle route got to touch out thought it was a receiver I was like oh man. That's ash and genty number two there And then they got him again. It was very creative How kubiak was deploying genty out the backfield and you can tell early on whether it was through the air or on the ground Like the game plan was get the ball out of Kirk cousins hands quickly and get the ball to ash and genty like He was like sneakily a lot better than we probably expected last year through the air And to start off this year doing the same thing that he kind of left off doing last season Like I feel a lot. I mean six receptions for 45 yards and two touchdowns for your for what most people consider like this Grindr bell cal type running back. It was it was a great performance from ash and genty

And I don't even think he's a hundred percent running out there right now. So hey now I would say I mean this This six catches five six receptions. I think we should be banking on that pretty much weekly from genty Interesting. I mean to me part of this is how bad Miami is like They are rough both on offense and especially on defense like no defensive linemen their linebackers are fine But their corners and safeties are atrocious like this is the easiest game that the Raiders have on the schedule for the next 11 weeks So that's something I want to keep in mind Ray. I did want to ask you typically kubiak passing offenses. It's downfield explosives It seemed like that wasn't the case here. It was more kind of underneath stuff intermediate-ish How do they fill in for Brock Bowers like what was the usage with jack bash and Michael mayor and those types of Yeah, mayor was right there at the top right seven targets for mayor and I believe another seven targets for ash and genty So about six for genty seven for mayor best really wasn't involved after halftime much

I'll just say like none of the receivers really felt like they were a big part of the game plan There wasn't a lot of stuff down the field. It really felt I mean 5.3 yards Average for a Kirk cousins. It was get the ball out of his hands is quick as possible like he was not taking five and seven step drops There was no play action to shoot it down field It was get it out quick Michael mayor not a lot on his on his receptions either 5.3 yards of reception for Michael mayor It was it was quick. It was get it out like it just it felt like lost Vegas knew that they could get the dub And it was let's do what we need to to get up out of here keep everybody healthy at one point Like men those are there showing him on the sideline. I was like did something happen to Kirk cousins Two interceptions from Kirk you're gonna get what you get from that angle But I highly doubt without bowers The way that mayor was deployed in the route was not the way that bowers was deployed they play Two completely different tight in roles which makes me think that wind bowers is back like that's where your explosives come from from rock bowers and then mayor mayor

Is still kind of like an underneath outlet option We got the report from this morning that the Brock bower's like has a chance to play this next week With the wind could we just like buy another week maybe could we just like take this guy's career seriously for once in our lifetime My my other note from this one Chris Johnson a first round corner And this tends to happen with rookie corners. He was targeted 12 times in this game So it's just like something I always like to to figure out is where the rookie corners that are actually playing because Often's a coordinate especially good ones like kubiak tend to just like target them because those guys heads are spinning and I think that's something we have to pay attention to with Miami Right, let me ask you about Miami's offense Malik will is 15 to 27 220 in interception five sacks taken. He's also the team's leading rusher six carries 39 yards one score Devon h an on the day as a round one two turn running back 11 carries 36 yards Four catches 30 yards against the Las Vegas Riders defense in negative game script and then their receivers Caleb Douglas five for 94

Malik Washington three for 53 believe all is that was in the second half and then Chris Bell just won catch For 25 overall first look at this dolphins offense. What was your takeaway? Not the same as last year like that was the big takeaway It's it was not the same that the involvement even the announcers were saying H&N is a very good pass catcher why are they not throwing them the ball 94.1% of backfield opportunities jalen right had one carry Zero routes no targets. It was all H&N, but 11 carries there there wasn't much like the offensive line was overmatched max crossby Was given Malik will is hell all game quiddie pay was all over. I think both of those players had two sacks in the game H&N you love the 16 you know 16 touches by by H&N you love the 21 routes But the lion has got to play better harman We kind of talked about the line. They got an all pro up there at their center position brewer and they've got all these additions You draft Kaden proctor, but it was just a rough outing like this raiders defensive line gave them fits

Caleb Douglas look good Chris Bell had one catch down the field Malik Washington in the second half looked fine. This is You know Malik will see through for 220 he ran for touchdown Which you're hoping that he can continue to do and he looked fine in that But it's very obvious that they're just they're lacking weapons. They're lacking big-time playmakers They've got no tight-in like they didn't even get Greg Dolchurch involved I don't know what slow wik What his game plan was and this one it just felt like they wanted Willis to drop back and deal And that's not the type of quarterback that he is you got to you got to do a little more There was not a lot of RPO stuff with Willis it was it was dropback and try to dissect the defense and he was incapable of doing that All right, we'll head to the next game and this one should be quick Pittsburgh Steelers 20 at lennifalcans 13 Because this one win as expected Cooper rush cannot function Just simply cannot function and the falcons offense was entirely beijon robinson I mean, I can talk through that immediately if you want me to where he had 29

Opportunities beijon robinson did brown robinson had nine carries and then the wider severs and titans combined for six touches Oh I can go quickly through how awful it was like there was a second and 19 Calpitz was open down the scene he wins one on one versus jalen ramsey Cooper rush like Gets the yips under throws it and it's broken up the passes to Drake London were high and wide and all over the place His touchdown to beijon robinson was beijon lining up at wide receiver It was a wider severs screen so it had a negative a dot and then he takes it for like a 24 yard touchdown himself Uh, Kevin's a fancy just realized that if the ball doesn't get in seven's hands The ball isn't moving at all Cooper rush had a middle of field interception that was horrible Cooper rush then threw a pick six to tj watt when he was trying to have a swing pass the running back out of backfield

And tj watch is grabbed it and ran into the in zone This was a brutal brutal watch now on the opposite end for the pit spurks dealers There was some you know moments. I mean obviously Every so often Aaron Rogers would have like some nice downfield passes like a long shot to roman Wilson Pass near appearance on a j torell that would have been a touchdown in out of structure second down touchdown to pat friormouth second phase play in the red zone He didn't know that pass near appearance of dk met calf and then dk was also called for opi Later on we can talk about the running deck rotation because that might have been the most notable takeaway But um Yeah, I mean the Falcons aren't unserious organization And I feel bad for you for as long as Cooper rush starts for your triglandan end Oh my god. It's just so early to be talking about a Cooper rush start like it's it's week one. It's so so early um Josh, I don't know if this just adds to the pain Uh or if you could even stomach noticing something like this But can you tell me anything about like Drake London's alignment and usage because this is

I know it doesn't matter. I know it doesn't matter But it matters for me personally, so yeah, Matt it didn't it didn't matter for me life I was watching another game while this one was on the second screen I'm sure we'll talk about in sassy's film But I don't think it matters as much if Drake London was at the x or the z heck if he was in the backfield like none of I mean got a carry in this game because Cooper rush was so Panic quickly going through his reads he has no out of structure ability to his game Like Michael pinnocks off of four knee surgeries is gonna be so much better than Cooper rush in this offense And I can't wait for the day that Michael pinnocks is back to our center here. Hey listen But guys, I just wanted to have something to ask I don't know I got an answer for you Drake London tens uh snaps in the slot. Is that is that move anything for you? Oh, it's 16% 16% that's got to be like one of his lowest Josh reveal talk if if rush starts again

Are you just are you are you benching London and pits week two of the dog on season just I'm not playing them Well, I mean week two of the dog on season they face the Carolina panthers. You just got 59 points So if there ever was a week if there ever was a week Cooper Now is the time to do it um The scene was running back room was really interesting. It was mostly drive by drive early on But that ended with Rico dattle 39 snaps to Jalen Warren's 25 snaps Jalen Warren did fumble on a screen early on you also had 15 total touches including five receptions compared to dattles I think Ten total touches both got red zone snaps here. So I don't know how much we can read into any of this stuff uh Other than you know one guy fumbling and it's not like one guy is running away with the job here in week one either hidden Well, I will say the split between passes in carries in this game is staggering considering how inept the falcons

Offense was the they drop back what 42 times for the Steelers and that's 18 carries for the Steelers grant like that is a huge split Like that would be like leading the NFL in neutral pass rate If this holds and like we have seen McCarthy dial up crazy pass first offences here Like if that's the offense that we're getting and maybe that's just because the falcons have no pass fritters They can't stop the run either so like you can go either way here I think that wouldn't be a pretty big win for Jalen Warren like the fact that he got six targets in this game And they felt like they probably had a chance of winning this throughout That to me leans like this will be Warren over Rico dattle Yeah, we'll see I mean Rico was in there a lot too And I think my car they really liked and just based on how that flow of the game was going Troy Fautano left at some point in this one So the first run pick max ironatcher came in at right tackle and then their right tackle moved over to left tackle I was going to add Chris Lindstrom the falcons best offensive lineman Left hook and cussion in this contest too. So that goes from bad to worse there

um Pat primal is is again someone that Air and riders had talked up in terms of filling in for Michael pitman who was injured now Michael pitman is a leading receiver here DK's We'll talk about DK and sass versus foam He had like hidden yardage both that he gave up because of opi and that was taken away for dpi too So I it doesn't show up here But I really do believe dk was the wider seaver one for this team and it shows up in the 10 targets But again just four catches for 40 yards on top of that. Okay Ray We'll go through this while I was wrong about the dolphins being frisky in week one I was correct about the jets being frisky as they dominate the tenancy titans 23 to 10 Geno smith 19 to 24 250 Breeze hall 22 carries 102 yards in a score Garrett Wilson six to 79 ad9 Mitchell three for 60 jets fans are in heaven They they should feel good. They should feel great after this one because the jets look like a I mean they just look so much more prepared

That it was create the best players on the field Every position both sides of the ball belong to the new york jets Omar Cooper junior starts that thing off with a 30 yard reception on the first drive Then he sprains his ankle and he leaves Kenyan Sadek rushing score Breeze hall and braille and Allen looked great Braille and Allen also had I think it was close to a 20 yard touchdown run called back dude or holding penalty Breeze hall getting all the work out of the backfield. I mean he's just spinning off at defenders Bell Cal breeze. I thought braille and Allen played Exceptionally well and Geno smith was was good. He did he did what he needed to do no touchdowns No interceptions no sacks. He was only hit one time this tenancy defense could do nothing to get Geno smith off his mark Under pressure and he got the ball to Garrett Wilson 30% target share as Garrett Wilson always does Breeze hall and braille and Allen led the backfield wasn't a big day from Kenyan Sadek But he's healthy. He finished the game. I I was

I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw from the jets offense of side of the ball Ready can I ask about Garrett Wilson was here any slot involvement it looked like he's like a None of like a kind of a part-time player here 23 routes on 28% of the dropbacks was that because of The the game at the end there was like anything different about Garrett Wilson as we can actually probably take him serious for the first time as a Potential top 15 fantasy receiver Yeah, if you watch it back which I highly don't recommend you do Hayden They moved him around quite a bit. He was all over the place down field work It wasn't like cheap gimmicky stuff for Garrett Wilson and there was another one his one target that he didn't get I mean it would have been another big play for Wilson I thought he played really well made some good grabs And it was Gina Smith new where to go like he played under control He got the ball out on time. I was I'm watching them and I'm like man. I am I'm using this loosely impressed with this jets offense with y'all. I'm telling y'all The Tennessee there are big big problems in Tennessee big problems bro. Yeah, let's let's talk through that because it was like zero zero

Six minutes left in like the first quarter. This should be like an early play sheet call for Brian Dayball And he has like a double reverse action where cam ward The action is him flipping the ball to himself as he's hitting the end of his dropback And then he hits his back foot and then drives straight up into a sack Like we said it in the summer, but Brian Davell is probably looking at the last season of his play call and career That is just you don't see that across the league. That's horrible stuff 49 plays for the Titans 49 plays 4.0 yards per play I'm not trying to be hard on cam ward at some point the excuses have to stop I mean, he's drifting back. He should it. It should have been a safety on one of the plays That there was one point where he like shuffled the ball backward like he just like pitched it to somebody It looks like he had no idea what was going on and and I don't want to I don't want to discount the jets defense, but it's not like they were playing the 85 bears out there as well

Like this often she talked about inoperable the offensive line was a mess cam ward's footwork His his mechanics in the pocket. It's it's either big player bust I mean car now take called the brawl, but it doesn't matter when it goes for like 20 something yards Wandael Robinson it doesn't matter when he's throwing getting thrown the ball four or five yards down the field Tony Pollard nothing on the ground Taj A Spears runner cam ward couldn't hit swing routes to the running backs out of the back field. It was that Bad they didn't score touchdown for two minutes left in the game and you're just like Yeah, the touchdown came with two minutes left two minutes and 50 seconds left and E look a a minor gets a slant route scores a touchdown awful Awful performance from the Tennessee Titans and I am very concerned for carnell tape Wandael Robinson and Brian Debalt as a play caller I only have two things to add here because I pretty much watch zero seconds of this game You know, we maybe we'll keep it that way. We'll see one surrender index

Which is an account on Twitter attracts like cowardly puns the Titans with A minute and 12 seconds left in the third on fourth and nine while losing three to 20 they punted that was a 100th percentile out of cowardly puns Since 1999 and then our friend Easton frees asked Robert Salah after the game for his message to fans who are shell shocked To save their money and be apathetic about this football team. It's week one Dude, it was bad y'all like I'm not I'm not trying to be funny here. It was bad Right, it's about to even worse the Titans then get big fan geos defense in week two Then the fourth game of the season is Jesse mentors Baltimore Ravens Then the fifth game of the season is Demiko Ryan's Houston Texans So three of these next four games are three on paper of the best defenses in the league and you only put up 10 points and what a 140 yards

Against the gen week one. I mean, that's brutal stuff How many points of the last note that I have is I feel very bad for a Jeremiah Smith or archmaning because that looked like the worst team in the NFL the day that they Matt look awful Matt question for you who scores more points the Chicago Bears Through week eight or the Tennessee Titans through week 18. Oh definitely the bears bears easily easily No question. That's the easiest question you've asked me all episode So 18 games versus eight games. We're going with the team with the games. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Incredible stuff Wow, okay Hey, speaking of maybe even worse offenses will close out with you The Cleveland Browns score 10 points in their debut with Todd Monkin as the Shawn Watson goes 16 to 22 to 5 though 5 sacks taken He is the teams leading rush with six cares for 38

We're bearing the lead where the Jacksonville Basically had to take their foot off the acceleration for the entire second half posting 34 points in total Trevor Lawrence 18 of 23 to 45 Touchdown passes will talk through the wider receivers with Parker Washington with 85 for 83 and one Chicago Mires 2 for 41 and then obviously they're running that Ray the Browns have the Titans and it's going to be a close competition this year This game was equally as bad with the Browns It was within three minutes of the game to Shawn Watson I mean through it directly to a Jacksonville defender and zone coverage That one was really bad. There was many other missed opportunities for interceptions But what was so strange about the brine not strange like very predictable The reason why they went with to Shawn Watson in a road environment is because like he can execute the offense There were so many delay of games or needing to call a timeout to avoid delay of games in the two-minute drill He had to take a delay of game for no reason that set up a first and 30 his time to throw was like almost four seconds in this one

Later in the game they had to call a timeout for a delay of game where he's like literally at the line of scrimmage with his wristband going through the place Like with as the seconds go down from two to one to zero There was nothing functional about this game Denzel Boston catches like a go ball touchdown That was a great catch from him later on they try to get Casey Kasey concept C-owned going a little bit There's like an end-around there was a screen give a fumbled on that screen He did have a little out route for a first down But it was to the point where this team is so horrific that this could be a team like the Titans Where it's like you can't start anybody to the point where I think Shadour probably should just start the the following game here There was like nothing that DeShawn Watson did add all you even what they were trying to say like you cannot watch that game Say the operation was good at all so all of that's predictable Jacksonville's gonna kick everyone's ass They got past rushers. They can stop the run They got a obviously Travis Hunter out there at corner as well But that was like as bad as he gets there and then Dylan Samson leaves with the knee injury. So It's just like you really can't you really can't start anybody here I mean this is the

Downside of drafting someone like Quinch on Judkins who's I think a tough rank for me because he's so awesome with the bonus hands as a runner And yet when you face an overpowering Full of monsters defensive line like the Jaguars. He just has no chance and you're gonna get negative game script And then he has you know two targets for 17 yards on top of his 12 carries for 33 So Matt I mean hey, we're not gonna get a horrible matchup like this all the time But at the same time it's gonna be tough. I think pick your spot with Quinch on Judkins unless he's you know just a flex player Yeah, I think he's a flex only type for now they get the Tampa Bay Buckeniers in Tampa So now you have to like deal with the V2V of it all over there So it's not gonna get any easier this next week. He did on that swing pass He did like a break attack. Oh, and he still looks awesome to me He's like a low-end flex until proven Otherwise the Sean Watson like at least like looked more athletic than he had before But his decision making is so far away from what is acceptable in the NFL That even that as a compliment like is completely irrelevant onto Jacksonville a serious team serious organization

Uh, Trevor Lawrence was phenomenal in this one for a couple of reasons one Uh, he was not under duress. There was only four uh pressures on 24 dropbacks 17 percent This could be one of the worst offensive lines going into the NFL this year And that did not seem to be a problem Jared verse went uh Pressure lists in this one for for Cleveland. That's not a good sign over there But with Trevor you had a scramble drill touchdown finding Jacobi in the back of the end zone That was an awesome play for Trevor back side dig touchdown play action quick touchdown Where if you look at the end zone camera from the broadcast there is like four or five browns defenders Hands putting up and Trevor put it right on the money. It was a little bit of a rotation across the board here BTJ leaves early then comes back in he had a catch over the middle He had a toe tap catch but largely uh wasn't that uh heard from it was park Your Washington to me as like clearly the top target diving touchdown on crossing route where if you watch that play He's in the slot. He gets man coverage. I mean just absolutely dust is him like right away. He has a one handed catch

Uh, like near the sideline later on like it seemed like just one of those players where like you can tell who the first read is like on a deeper Route and that seemed to be parkour Washington In this one Jacobi Myers was the recipient of that scramble drill touchdown later on Call strange digger out touchdown in the red area. So uh Trevor Lawrence did not miss the entire game one sack four touchdowns And only five in completions there. So like everything was working there Only one like one of them was like a truly startable and that was parkour Washington five for 83 in a tud I'll ask about basal toton versus chris riggas now but so I was in a four quarter Outlay that was not necessary But the box score says 15 carries 66 yards for basal toton along with one catch for 22 Compared to chris riggas six for 23 Uh, this was one of those games that you would hope for short yardage touchdown for chris riggas when you score 34 points But it didn't happen Did not happen toton started this game. He obviously got the most carries by by quite a lot here

chris riggas was out there for that play action goal line touchdown that I was talking about That was to Josh Cameron by the way That was the second touchdown of the game That was not garbage time like Josh Cameron was out there for a little bit uh Travis Hunter was not But chris riggas I wouldn't say that he's like for sure going to get all the short yardage work Because toton got a little bit kind of between the 20s like on a third in one situation But chris riggas was out there for that goal line uh snap He's purely touchdown or bus Unfortunately a mere duelo was actually playing and kind of like a liquid Alan type of role It's going to be a rotation I can't say that toton or chris riggas like looked way better than one another toton I thought looked a little bit more explosive The encode had some nice things to say about basal toton I do still worry that this could be a little bit kind of trap back If chris riggas is going to get the goal line stuff and for basal toton He had a screen reception for 22 yards Yeah, that was the only target of the game There's just like no reason to throw the ball to the running backs If you're going to get Trevor Lawrence to park Washington B2J Jacoby You name it down the football field

So I just wonder if like that Liam Cohen bucks offense that was so uh It was just kind of rotating around the the running back group I just don't think that this offense is going to be like that one at all Harbin any questions? um How long would you say that Jacoby Myers was wide open before he uh Finally got the ball thrown his way on that touchdown There was I they showed a different angle and there was a browns defended I was originally guarding him who was just like laying down on the ground for a little bit Uh, the creditor Trevor for eventually finding him that was a robe and good like see Trevor like Throw the ball accurate like sometimes like he throws the ball accurately And then other times like he's way off This is one of those games where like everything was like right on the money. So uh shot it down Yeah, this is one of those kind of two game samples I want to package together they get the browns in week one and then they're on the road in Denver for week two the jaguars are And so we're going to kind of learn some lessons from From that department BTJ left for a portion of this game Hayden um yeah as we have all

talked about Travis Hunter kind of seemed like the de facto X-Widers here for BTJ, but did that kind of turn into Josh Cameron here Yeah, so Josh Cameron was a standout and camp in like shiply by the end of the camp was saying Cameron's gonna play more offense and Travis Hunter and that's exactly what happened here Now Travis Hunter came in there for his four snaps on offense I think he got a carry and then I think maybe like another screen or something He basically was in there as like a like you know, Cadarious Tony type of player out there Uh, that was that was like when like Brian Thomas uh, what was sideline? I think I think there was a kind of like that so he's a very good corner. We'll leave it at that Okay, Ray any closing questions before we get out of here I just it feels like and hey not didn't watch this this game in in entirety But it felt like there's probably some more upside in this pass catching room Trevor Lawrence only threw the ball what 23 times um I just I feel like there could be some more inside this jags receiving room

I would hope that they can solidate the looks a little bit more just every like one target here two targets there Like let's condense that up get Parker Washington the ball some more and I thought BTJ looked well before he got before he got injured I thought he played well and look good Yeah, he came back to the game. I have no negative notes to say about Brian Thomas in this game Parker watching 18 of 25 routes on on the dropbacks out there. So 90 full-time player But I will say he he just to me does look like the most like well-rounded uh wide receiver like the most involved out there And when they are going to be in closer games like they will drop back a whole lot more And I think that this is going to be maybe more of a pass first offense than they have been before I mean You listen to Liam Cohen like before the season talk about the running backs is like you know We're trying to get by here. I was gonna say for six yes four six eight like four six eight that's pretty much what happened today And then it was just like 25 30 32 to the best players would just happen to be all of the past sketches All right, that does it 12 games in the books 12 game covered by the four of us if you're looking for like both the Wednesday and Thursday
