Sigma Chi's Derby Days Dance: Fundraising Success

0:00On April 24th, Sigma Chi at the University of Arkansas threw down for their annual Derby Day's dance competition in Barnhill Arena, pulling in 11, sororities all battling it out to raise cash for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Chi Omega-Size snagged first place overall, with Delta Gamma taking third in PI Betify landing second. The whole week brought in over $70,000 for the cause. Here in the night, a spirit contest hyped up the crowd, where Chi Omega topped the energy charts, followed by P Betify and Zeta Tau Alpha. Leading up to the main event, sororities racked up points through percentage days at spots like raising canes and mamacobbles plus a blood drive with the local center. PI Betify crushed the percentage fundraising. Participants poured months into prep, with auditions back in December and rehearsals kicking off right after winter break. Coaches and dancers described it as, intense grind, but the payoff made every sweat drop count, especially for attorneys coaching this year.
