Shooting at Old Dominion University Injures Two

0:00This is Birmingham News today, every story, every city, every day. A shooting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia left two people injured and the suspect dead on Thursday morning. It happened at Constant Hall shortly before 1049 AM, prompting a quick response from emergency crews. The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital and university officials locked down the area right away. Police from Norfolk arrived on scene to handle what they called an active incident. Since and faculty got an urgent alert at 1048 AM telling them to follow run, hide, fight steps and stay clear of the building. One sophomore described being in the middle of a test when the fire alarm sounded, leading him to evacuate fast. Classes got canceled for the rest of the day and everyone was told to steer clear while responders wrapped up their work. The campus stayed on high alert as details came in. Officials promised another update around 1215 PM, with the investigation still underway to piece together exactly what happened.
