Shelly Tygielski: Radical Self-Care With Love

A powerful force in the mindfulness movement and in mutual aid, our special guest is Shelly Tygielski. She is the author of Sit Down to Rise Up and founder of the global grassroots organization, Pandemic of Love. A trauma-mindfulness teacher and a Garrison Institute Fellow, she teaches self-care and resilience to organizations around the world. Her work has been featured on CNN Heroes, The Kelly Clarkson Show, CBS This Morning, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. 

Lee and Shelly have a heartfelt conversation about finding gifts in the dark moments and what can emerge when we come from a place of love and empathy. Her belief that one person can make a difference compelled her to create Pandemic of Love in March 2020, and she shares what she has experienced when 'love finds a way'. We learn more about her being kidnapped as a child, losing her vision, and how it all plays a part in who Shelly is as a teacher of radical self-care and what led her to writing her first book.
