SF Airlines Lands First Direct Flight to UK's Top Cargo Hub

On Sunday, March 8, SF Airlines flew a Boeing 747 freighter straight from Ezru Huahu International Airport in China. Until now, its parent company SF Express had relied on chartered flights or space from other operators to reach the airport. This direct flight with their own aircraft signals a strong long-term partnership and commitment to the route. East Midlands Airport's commercial director called it a major milestone that will boost cooperation between the two sides. The central UK location offers quick access to most of the country's population within four hours. The airport posted impressive 12% cargo growth last year, accounting for over a third of all UK air cargo increases. That outpaced London airports, thanks to a switch from small European flights to bigger long haul operations, even with 7% fewer aircraft, movements.
