He obviously had a insane start as well, but he's obviously not better to Carricks. I thought I thought he won his first. Hey, that's what I mean, then he should be unless the other person, I don't know, I don't know, but the stat in itself is impressive. We'll take it for what it is. Anyway, we'll get into semantics here, but we'll talk about that game. It was another important win. It was another game where let's be honest, there was some frustrations in it. We're not getting perfect performances here, but we're getting the right results. Ceshko more than a super sub. We've now got confirmation of that. I mean, where do you want to start from that game? I suppose just start with the result itself, as I said, like United and our third villa losing against wolves. That was I suppose a bit of a surprise, but bitter and massively wobbling. We've now got a new castle coming up midweek, and we'll preview that towards the end of this pod, but mate, Carricks at a wheel. It's huge. It's huge. I think someone, I think I was, they said that many night, it haven't been in the

3:15third place at any point in any season since May 2023, which is obviously when 10 hot, I'll finish third in this first season. You're talking, yeah, nearly three years. So yeah, and I think what's really good at the moment, I mean, it's good and bad, but we're winning games without necessarily always playing well, which a bit of a cliche and football, but if you can win without playing well, that's a good sign. And it's in and it is small moments that are winning us these games. Obviously against Everton, it's that brilliant cannot attack. And against against Crystal Palace today is that Bruno pass, which I do want to get into a little bit in general. I want to get into Bruno a little bit in general, because there was things in that first half that they've frustrated me about not just not him, but how he was being used. But yeah, we're getting through games and winning when we're not playing well, which is a good sign. If you're looking at the habits of games that are than the patterns that are starting to see quite regularly on the carrot first half, quite shit, second half, noticeably better. And it was like obviously the red card changed the game

4:18and it was a red card. Why did that take so long to get given his red card? I was a bit confused by that. Like I think if you wanted to beat whether or not it's a penalty, maybe you can have a conversation about that because the contact starts outside the box. But the red card is a given like he's threw on goal. Like I had a mate on WhatsApp telling me that it's not clear and obvious. It's not clearly a goal strong opportunity. I'm like mate. Just give either. Have a deal. Give either. And Bruno, I've dispatched in the penalty. Bruno again with another goal, another assist. The cross we've been speaking about these. And it was just I'll be honest, but the cross was decent, but the header was everything. Now that was a header that Cheshko created himself, a load of power into that, a load of direction. And that's now winner against Fulham, winner against Everton, winner against Crystal Palestine and the equaliser against West Ham four goals from Cheshko that have earned United seven points from just four goals. Mate, the lad is, you know, I think United have actually managed him really well if I'm

5:23being honest. I think Carrick's managed him really well. The fact that Kanye and Burma were taking the limelight in a good sense earlier gave him a little bit more time to settle in. I think that's really helped him. It was a big goal from him and just more than a super self. I think it's definitely well, we knew that anyway, but you've seen it. Yeah, I think the signs have been there with him, but he wasn't playing with this confidence that he's got now the early part of the season. And the goal today, you're right because Bruno puts into an area and he puts good wit behind it so that Cesco doesn't need to generate too much power behind it, but it's the small movement that he does to get there ahead of the Crystal Palace Defender, whose name I've forgotten now, but he's, I think he was a 19 year old who's just kind of just coming to Palace as first team. So to notice that little moment of inexperience from the Palace Defender where the Palace Defender stepped far too far forward and Cesco's just drifted in behind him to get his head onto that. It's, it's really good movement for him. It's proper like center forward play. And I've been having this debate for the longest time with Arsenal fans.

6:26We got the better striker like even if it's not clear as day now in this moment in years to come, it will be clear as day that Cesco and your crazy is not a conversation at all. Man, do you know what it's man? Like we might have signed Liam Delap. Yeah, that's insane. That's insane. And that we like we full on what like we really wanted it. Yeah, you know, you know, you know, you never stated when Chelsea got it. It's weird how it works. There are real positives, of course, and we're focusing on them. But what's your sort of take on United in first halfs? Because that's now, was that three games in a row, right? Is it West Ham, Everton, and now Crystal Palace, where it's the first halfs? We couldn't string two passes together in that first half. I don't really know what was going on there, like the really simple stuff like a nine hour pass, spooned. What was going on there? To be fair, like, with Everton and West Ham, like, I wouldn't necessarily say that the performance is without much better in the second half anyway. I don't know if you agree,

7:29but I don't know if the second, I wouldn't say the overall performance in those two halves were better, but we just, we just produced a goal in those in those halves. That was just the clinical difference between the first and the second. This game though was different. The first half was frustrating because first things, like the press from us wasn't great, right? Palace were playing for us a few times, but those a few times where Palace played out, and I was kind of looking like, where has this palace been for the last time? Two months, like, you know, playing pretty good today. They'll pop in the ball about first, the little one, two touch football, it was good. So that was annoying. We just couldn't get the ball off of them in certain moments. They'll play them through us a lot easier than you'd want them to. But it was frustrating because that we just, we weren't getting on the ball in good enough areas and we weren't sustaining pressure enough in that first half. We weren't really creating anything, like, like, really. Apart from, there was a few early crosses into Cesco, which is a good sign that we're trying to service him on a regular basis, but then there was a few set piece

But the one thing we weren't creating, and the one thing with Bruno, for me, was that he was getting the ball in really wide areas, or it just wasn't getting to him because he was really how the picture was next to Cesco. And that's why that moment for the penalty where Kanye wins the penalty is so nice because he kind of drops in deeper to get on the ball. And you know what's really impressive about that moment? When he plays the pass, I thought Kanye was making the run. Kanye wasn't making the run. Bruno said, run with the pass. Do you know what I mean? Like, he's almost forced Kanye to go after it by making the pass and forcing him to make the run. So yeah, but the first half, second half stuff is little bit concerning, but also not massively new to us, I'd say. Remember when I was a bit opposite, right? Yeah, it's just a little bit strange, I suppose, because I think the results are definitely there, but there's going to be quite a few elements of these performances. The character's going to want to improve on. I thought

9:34one part of that in particular, I'm not here coming up big fucking negative after the game, just spotting the game, just the things that were sort of like united really struggled down that left hand side today because we were, well, sure went off. Did you see what that sure injury was it? Was it him getting stamped on? Well, we saw that, well, Sky Sports showed that highlight, but like, I don't like that would surprise me if that's what it is. It didn't, it didn't look that mad. It didn't look that bad, anyway, but knowing Luke Shaw, the concern is that it's a muscle string. That's that's the worry with Luke Shaw. Well, I'm guessing we'll find out against Newcastle on Wednesday, right? But yeah, you know, you know, I went, Shaw went off, Mazrari came on and we had Konya on the left hand side. You've really noticed in now with Dorgu out of this team and Konya, he's always going to cut inside because that's how he places it inside forward. We had such a distinct lack of width against Crystal Palace that made it quite easy for them to defend narrow because they knew that we weren't going to go out wide. And because we had Amadoff and Cheshko was on, which I thought was the right call, it made us even more narrow.

10:38Maybe that made it a little bit more predictable for us to, you know, for Crystal Palace to defend against us. But we switched it up in the second half and it was that red card that flipped the script. I'd say one player I thought played really well, man, was Casamiro. I felt like he was kind of really dictating, really finding those 20, 30, 40, hour passes. And there was one type of passing in particular I liked from him. It was like Casamiro, a couple of times, a bit of a couple of times as well. You know, you know, it was like one of those line breaking passes through midfield that go towards the edge of the box, but instead of it being passed backwards, it kind of like it goes, they just flick it around the corner. Yeah, yeah, I know, I've been a how to describe that pass, but it was like we did it a couple of times and that was what broke the palace sort of deep defensive block and it worked. Yeah, it's almost like a square flick. I don't know how to describe it. Yeah, there's no, there's no way. No, I know what you're talking about though. It's just, it's just a little movement. It's just a little like to get it,

11:38keep it going basically. The same way it's going to flick it on. Yeah, it's nice. And he won the ball back a few times. There was like numerous times where it was like a loose ball situation in midfield. And he got to a quite a few of those. Cobby main who got off on a few of them as well. And one thing I did notice as well, again, not on the negatives. This is like we've won and that's all that really matters. But so Lissandra Martinez obviously, he's been out again. And we noticed it against Everton where those line breaking passes just went on. And there was moments in the first half that I just thought, would it make sense for Cobby and Casamero to swap memory and possession in those moments because we haven't got a Lissandra Martinez. Do you almost ask Cobby to drop in a little bit deeper to pick it up so that he can spray those passes because we were struggling to progress the ball forward. Well, Casamero is probably better at the 30, 40 yard diagonals. And I would imagine Cobby might be slightly better at the short sharp and decisive ones in the middle. But I don't know. I think going into Newcastle, we'll speak about that in a little bit. But

12:40that's going to be a tough one. Do you know if Bruno's in, did he play for them against Everton? I don't think, I mean, he didn't play against Everton. No, I don't think he'll be fit. I'd highly doubt it. Wow. That's a shame. I want to see that. But what's, I suppose, what's your main takeaway from this guy? Is this just, we're we're riding high, man. We're really riding high. Probably sesco and not just the fact that he's playing well and he's scoring goals and he's confident. But for the first time in a while, it feels like United feel like, or United players feel like they have a striker that if they really purposefully try to service, he will produce. Because it wasn't a coincidence that that Bruno cross goes in there because we tried. I think Coby did that really early on in the second half. The low tried to put in a few of those, you know, those sort of like, you know, where the, do you know where the broiler used to spray them in that area? There was quite a few of those from those areas, from that area into

13:43sesco. So that's my biggest takeaway is that we've, it feels like we've got a striker now that we feel like if we service him properly, he'll bag his goals. And that was a really, yeah, they really went, they really tried to service him today and it worked. It's something I don't know if you feel this as well, but like, I was watching night in that first half and I was frustrated and there was a lot of frustration, but going to the second half and just, I've got confidence that United are going to find a goal. I've got confidence that United are going to get better as the game goes on and that we can keep cranking it up. And like we've done it consistently now, quite a few times on the carrot. We're just, we are better as the game progresses on. We do have subs to impact the game. And it was another match where we came and scored two goals in the second half and we deserve to win. And like, Caracas just got the formula, I suppose, right now. And going into this new castle game, right? So we now play new castle and villa of our next two games, two big games to be fair. Villa losing 2-0 to wolves,

14:46new castle, they lost 3-2 to Everton at home as well. But I can't remember the last time that we played at St. James's Park and had like a cracking game because it's a tough place to go. I don't know whether I'm forgetting a game or performance, but it's always been a tough place to go for a good long while now. Yeah, there's one that as soon as I say one basakka scored. Yeah, I know that's the last time I remember one basakka when he banged one in roof and net. Yeah, that was also the game where we scored that really nice counter attack and goal. We're brewed up and it top bins. Oh, no, that was tidy, but no, you're right though. You're right. We struggled there for some time. You'd fully expect new castle to leave significantly more space than what we've got a custom to in these last few games, right? They will come out. They will be aggressive. They will be on the front foot. They will try and press the life out of us and it'll be like Leeds Against City. Like I imagine that's how new castle will play in the first 15 minutes against us because that's

15:49how it works for them. Would you expect them to operate with a high press? I do. High press and high line, but I also don't know if this new castle team are, they're not as good as they were when we've got when we've gone there in the past and struggled, they've been a better side. Their midfield three has been a lot better right now. Their midfield three does look a bit wobbly. Baltimore Day is not scoring. So yes, but I don't know if they'll have sustained periods of pressure against us. So I still think there'll be moments where we're in their half bopping it about for some time. But yeah, like you said, he's new castle at home, so they're going to try to start fast. And you know, when they've got Gordon and Barnes when I have a wing, for example, like that is still a threat, even even if they are a fought lab, it's not in good form, that's still a threat. It's like he's still something to worry about. What would you say is sort of the strategy and approach from character in this game? Is it going to be the same as we've gone in

16:50these last few games? Or is it going to be slightly tweaked? It's got to be balanced. I don't know if this is because it feels like to me that both teams will try to press, both teams in moments will try to have a high line. Neither team will be completely dominant over the other in possession. So it's got to be a balanced performance from us. I wouldn't be surprised if Jessica gets dropped by the way, I think. Not to say I won him too, but is this again where you kind of go with the Arsenal approach a little bit? Because against Arsenal, we still bopped it about. We still got on the ball, but we did try to play really quick when we did win it back. I just wonder if, but then again, Jessica is rapid anyway, but I just wonder if in Bumo, through the middle, is that an option that character kind of goes back to? For this one, I'm going to get my back on. The old 4s 9. Yeah, but just even just in Bumo playing on the shoulder of the last defender.

17:54Obviously, we've seen what you can do with that. I just wonder if because, like we say, with Newcastle's Highline and their want to press United High, that leaves space in behind. Do you go for it, for Bumo, through the middle, bring my back? I don't know. Or is Sasco just in two he's in too good form to drop? I mean, that was suppose it was his first start, but he delivered. Every single opportunity that he's been given, he has delivered so far. I think Shesco's now got, this is a great start. He's got twice as many goals as Harlan in 2026. That's a good one. I'm taking that one. I'm taking that one to the shops. I look randomly going back to the Palace game. Now, what did you think about Head and Worms game? I mean, tough to set the first off that he was a part of when we were talking about Palace bopping it about and playing through us. There were a few moments where he got on the ball and played it about and did what he played his part in that. Second half, a little bit ominous, I don't know, not that noticeable. I don't know if you agree with that, but there were moments that I can

18:59really pick out my brain to say, yeah, Warton did something of magic there. But also context matters, right? They go down to 10 men and then it's basically United pile on pressure. But if not anything that noticeable, I don't know if you agree. I look at Adam Warton and I'm sort of comparing it because you have to. You're comparing him to Eddie Anderson. You're comparing him to, well, maybe not Carlos Believer anymore because he's a little bit down in the peck and order, or Tanali, for example. Adam Warton just, I don't know. I don't want to use the word luxury, but I just feel like he would require a partner a lot more than someone like Elliot Anderson or Sandro Tanali would. I think they'd be the drivers in midfield if either of those were to be signed. And alongside Kobe Maynu, it's kind of what we need. I think if you were to try and partner Kobe with Warton, I don't think that would work, would it? Never worked. That would never work. That's just asking for trouble. I'll be interested if United actually do kind of follow up the interest

20:05in him and whether or not we actually go after him, but it's Elliot Anderson who we want, man. I think everyone knows that my gut feeling is that we don't go for Warton. Like, I mean, his stocks have dropped anyway. He's not, he's not had the season that he had lost. But I just think in Kobe and Warton, you've got two very similar profiler players. And whoever we sign for big money this season needs to come in and start immediately. It can't be at all, you know, like interchange or Kobe might go for it. It can't be that. It's just got to be someone you can just come and sit next to Kobe Maynu. And for me, that's just, it's never going to be Warton. I still wouldn't discount Believer completely either. But yeah, it just, it is Elliot Anderson, isn't it? That's your number one choice. Well, maybe tonight, I suppose we'll see tonight. On what you say night, right? I do like tonight, mate. You'd imagine he's going to be one of their best players. He is one of their best players, right? Yeah, he is. He's, he's also had a bit of an up and like, he's not a bit of an up and down season himself. Newcastle obviously played part of that because they haven't been good, but then there was a game recently where he was dropped. And I was really surprised that he

21:06was dropped. But I'm a big fan of his. I am a big fan of this. And I think he, when you go, we've just tonarly versus Elliot Anderson, I think tonarly might be the one who's just got that little bit more experience to handle what comes with playing an old traffic and what comes with playing for a club like Man United, because he's done it at Milan, he's done it at Newcastle. But I don't doubt that Elliot Anderson doesn't have the temper on to deal with it either. I just think maybe tonarly might edge him a little bit in that, but both really, really top players, both are going to be north of 100 million pounds anyway. Hey, look, if we sign either of them, you ain't going to get me complaining, man. They are the absolute top tier. But in terms of the game against Newcastle, throw a prediction at me. So what did you predict for the Paris game? I can't remember now. Was this 3-1? I think I went, I think I went 3-1. Yeah, it's 3-1. I wasn't that far. I went 4-2. I was a bit wrong. But you know, we've got that. Yeah, that's a look out.

I think, you know, I'd say that we're vulnerable and defence right now. I don't know whether vulnerable is the right way to describe it because I actually think from a defensive standpoint, it's probably still one of the most impressive things that's happened on the Carrick and how good we are out of possession. But they're really going to have to bring the sort of level of performance that we showed away

It just won't happen. It's not going to be that sort of occasion. I'm going to go for a two-all, I think, in this one. Would I be happy with a two-all? Would I take a two-all? Newcast sort of, my new cast in a mid-table, they've got 14th for them. They just lost their home to Everton. So in that sense, again, you've got to go in with a bit of confidence, but this is definitely a game I'm looking at and going just in the first 15 minutes. Just don't concede because just let the crowd die down a bit because if you go the opposite, it could be a long night. Yeah, and crowd hasn't been quite the same of late. The results follow what the crowd they had. I don't think so, anyway. I mean, it feels a bit... You hear what's going on with Walter Mardy as well. He's apparently unhappy. So... Is he? Yeah, apparently he's not settling in in Newcastle. Apparently, he's

Is it Xiao Pedro Chelsea? He was a new one. Yeah, they've all kind of... I mean, Walter Mardy had a good start, fell off. Your career has just picked up form a little bit now, which is really annoying. Eckerti K has been pretty good throughout. I do question Eckerti K's temperament a little bit, that's it. 26:20the approach? And I think from an attacking perspective, he's probably our best weapon right now. So why wouldn't we use him? Why wouldn't we gear the game towards getting the most out of Shesco when he's been delivering all these goals? But if he comes off the bench, I'd probably back him to score. If he starts, I'd probably back him to score. You know, I, as I said, third in the league, and you said at the start, first time since May 2023 that that's happened. That's like, I know we've been bad, we've been that shit. It has been me. It's been like this, that period there, that might be like the roughest period of the night. Let's be real. It's never been worse. Like that's, that's that's the last season of 10 Hark and Ruben Amarim. Dark, dark times of the night. Fingers crossed.
