About this episode
Self care is something we all need a daily dose of. We are attempting to do our best. Can you fail your own self care? Yes overthinking, not doing it enough, or not seeing simple things as self care.
We talk with Vera Fair. Vera Fair is a working mom with two amazing daughters (5 and 9 years old), wife to a wonderful husband who she has been with for 22 years, and volunteer in multiple organizations. She works full-time as a Senior Project Manager for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer and Boeing Research & Technology. In her 20 year career, she has held 16 different roles at the same company. Her educational background is in Psychology (UCLA), Computer Science (CSULB), Business (USC), and Project Management (Cal Tech). She is passionate about community involvement and is an active board member of Ascend Orange County (VP of Membership), Boeing Employees Community Fund (non-profit organization that provides grants to local non-profit organizations), Boeing Leadership Association of Southern California (VP of Professional Development), and Boeing Women Inspiring Leadership (Connect Circles Leader). She also volunteers with the local Girl Scouts group that her daughter is involved in. She is a certified speaker, coach, and leadership development trainer through the John Maxwell Team. Prior to the pandemic, she was a student pilot flying Cessna airplanes and also took acting lessons.
