Sedberry Takes Helm at Wisconsin Athletics

0:00On April 23rd, Wisconsin's athletic department just got a shake up with Marcus Sedbury stepping in as interim director after Chris McIntosh bounced, to a new gig as Big Ten Deputy Commissioner for Strategy. Sedbury got the nod on April 13th, right after McIntosh wrapped up three years leading the badgers since the summer of 2021. He's keeping his eyes on the present, leading around 900 staffers without sweating how long the job lasts. The search for a permanent replacement is underway, headed by interim chancellor designate Eric Wilkotz, especially with the current chancellor. Heading to Columbia University on July 1st. Sedbury brings solid experience from senior roles at Baylor, stints at Arkansas and Central Florida, plus time with the Philadelphia Eagles. The department's shining in women's ice hockey, with back-to-back national titles, men's hockey finals, and women's volleyball semis, but footballs. Been rough at four wins and eight losses last year, ending a 22-year winning streak.

Now those duties shift elsewhere, while the program sticks with coach Luke Fickle and ramps up investments, pulling in 34 transfers.
