I'll reward the Auburn Express. You got it, Jones. I'm in here with my man Kenny B. And you know, turn this up, turn this on. We're going to definitely turn it out today, talking a little Auburn versus Florida. You need indeed. Kenny, listen, let's, let's get to,
this is something we've been talking about for months, you know, I'm saying. Like, let's get straight to it. You know, Florida started their season 2 and 0 as expected. Auburn started their season 2 and 0. I think some expected, some people might have thought Baylor was going to give him a frown. You know, it depends on who you talk. It was a close game. But let's talk from the Florida perspective. How do you feel about the team versus the expectations? Like, what did you expect? Have they met it? Exceeded falling short? Where are they right now in your eyes? It's kind of weird because the things that I expected. Like defensive line. You know, elite play hasn't. Hasn't been there. It's hard to, we went against two offenses that are, you know, get the ball out super quick, you know, super fast. So kind of neutralized the past rush a little bit or a lot. So that's one. And quarterback play is probably a little bit better than I thought it would be, honestly.
I didn't know if I was going to ball like he has been again, level of competition. But I mean, the reads have been there. He hasn't made many mistakes. The pick he had was a wide receivers fault. So that hasn't been it. And the thing I issued that I thought we were going to have, like I said, quarterback. Yeah, running the ball. O line. O line. The old line was going to be shaking. I like going to hold you. I thought, old line. You know, some robbing super down on them guys. Pretty much since he got in the building. They've been playing good, man. Pass blocking has been amazing. Run blocking has been pretty good. Ball has made plays. So, you know, I think it could be better. But I'm very interested to see how we do against you guys. Like this will be the real test for me. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, listen, the teams that you guys have played so far in the season, let's be honest. FAU Campbell. You're supposed to go out there and beat up on those guys.
You did exactly that. But to your point, Aaron Filo, so far this season 32 of 42 for 517 yards at 76.2 percent completion percentage five touchdowns versus the one interception that he had. And so your point that interception wasn't really, you know, his fault. That was one of them situations where you got to catch the ball, man. Get it out there to you. So, yeah. Filo has played well versus the competition. But in terms of this offense in general, explosive is the only word I have for watching Florida on film. Yeah. Verniel Brown III. College football is back. So, Hilton called to me the superstition concierge to make your fan rituals a reality. Need a room to match your lucky number? We got you. Want to make sure our team doesn't wash your lucky jersey? Oh, that smells lucky. Hilton's unmatched hospitality can keep up with any superstition. Even a marching bandwinkup call it 555 and 55 seconds. Hit it! When you need a team that will do whatever it takes on game day, it matters where you stay.
Hilton, for the stay. This episode is brought to you by State Farm. No two football players are exactly alike and the same is true off the field. That's why State Farm gifts to know you so they can help personalize coverage for your life and budget. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. Yeah. Lightning in the bottle, brother. I know what Jayden Ball was going to be coming into the season. He's proven to be every bit the back that you would expect him to be. But there's just some guys on this team that are our dynamic and have the ability in open field. And you haven't even had Eric Singleton Jr. Yeah. So far this season. And don't know what his dad is going to be for this game. I would assume that he's going to be available even if he doesn't play a lot. But talk to me about kind of the guys that you feel like are going to be listening. This guy is going to be a problem.
Yeah. VB3. I think everybody saw the punt return, the dynamic punt returns. You know, Ball. You know, that the whole world knows at this point. You know, just run a ball. But it's guys in that wide receiver room, man. Like you said, Singleton has been out, but Billy Stockton. He's probably, he's probably the best all around that we've been seeing as far as blocking. Yeah. Route running, catching. The guy has blocking like he weighs 350 pounds and six eight. You know what I'm saying? Like he's blocking like a big guy. And he runs very crisp routes. Great hands. Then you have Dallas Wilson out there who's been making noise, getting open one on one. And the fall just has been lucky enough to be able to pick where the ball goes. So it's really four, five wide receivers. I mean, K Jack number 22. He's a guy literally these same size as Dallas Wilson, just as fast.
Probably the best hands on the team that. Defenses aren't going to pay attention to because you have four other guys in front of him. But he can get busy. So if we hold up the blocking, it could be anybody game. It might be a game where VB3 has three catches, but Singleton, I mean, a Billy Stockton might have five. And K Jack may have two and Dallas Wilson have four and may just be that type of game. And we have a plethora of tight ends that really block crazy, but can get open to a Mayor Jackson film. He's been running crazy routes getting open, pan-kicking guys. Has he camped freshmen? Everybody laughed at him with the recruiting process. He wanted to be a tight end. Everybody was like, oh, he should be a tackle. He's just a big fat kid. Amen. The kids slimmed down. Great hands. He's on the field. So the weapons are endless. So offense isn't the offense isn't a worry for me. Like I think offense wise is it.
So it's the defense. I mean, so the offense hasn't been a worry so far. So you had a chance to watch the Auburn defense. Does that defense, you look at it and say, or are you in your mind, man, lie whoever up against Florida? We can go against India. It's a little bit of both until approved and otherwise. I think the scheme is going to always put us in a favor of position. I don't think we'll be this man handled to the point we can't do anything. So we've got some of our old line like Bryce Love it, who is just a monster this year. Like I don't think anybody expected that. And it's kind of been spreading throughout the line. You see guys on film, like cleaning up blocks, pan-caking guys down the field, like finishing blocks. So that type of stuff makes me believe we're going to be very successful. But you know, DJ Durkin, your DC. Amen. And like, there's no disrespect. So y'all defense watching against Baylor.
Bro, like DJ had moments, but it was something things to where if you, if that ball with a God officer didn't get hit, it might have been a pick six. So Auburn's defense is legit. Like I can't even, I can't fake, I can't talk too much trash. Like they're legit, especially that D line. They get after it. Yeah, I'm looking forward to this one. I think this is going to be, you know, a true test. I was surprised at how well your guy DJ lag way performed in that first game. You know, he did well, you know, can't take away the turnovers. The turnovers were really what ended up in my opinion, being the difference in that ball game. But outside of that, he performed well, you know, saw the field got the ball out really quickly. But the defense came in and did what it needed to do. Let's talk about the concern that you have, though, the Florida defense. What's going on defensively with Florida right now? And why does it give you pause right now to say, I don't know what we're going to get once we get into this meat of this SEC schedule.
It's the cornerback, man. I think the defensive line is going to get create pressure. They haven't been getting home. Like I said, quarterbacks have been playing getting the ball out within two seconds. So that's super fast line back a room causing turnovers causing chaos. They do what they're supposed to do safety room. You know what I'm saying, chef, it's the cornerbacks right now. I don't know who is the go to guy. Like last two weeks, you had corn mining starting on one side and you had hanks on the other side. Both have been looking real shaky on on the back end. But then you put in flowers who is a young guy who played a lot last week. Look amazing. So it's going to be interesting to see what happens as far as the death wise because flowers. If he's in, he can lock it on the number one. Like I think he has that that kind of swag that you need at DB. That confidence.
If our cornerback room can play aggressive, you know, play press, you know, get on the right receiver like they're supposed to. Not backing out back pedaling things like that. Then if they do that, yeah, we should be good. But if they plan is that more of a scheme thing? Are they being asked to play a back off of them or they just like not doing a good job in the press man responsibilities. That's and that's what it is. It's the the ball. And I was like the coach said it's situational awareness, you know, it's third and two. You don't need to be seven yards off the ball. You know, you're not worried about the big play like you might be on the island, but that's why you're at the University of Florida. Like you got to live up to the height. You got to press in those situations and our corners were kind of backing off sometimes and situations where they should have pressed. And that is the defense is calling the press or to call it like you know kind of gauge where it is. And our guys are just being more cautious. And I think that they have to really get confident like they need that confidence booster.
To really like you know just be in the wide receivers face like we need corn mining. He's a tall, lanky kid. We need hands. He's a ball. When they play hot. There's a post to but right now they're playing a kind of timid so I don't know. You know what's going to happen with that DB room. So hopefully we can just get through your online and just cause havoc and and clean stuff up. But that's what I mean. You've seen this offense of course last year when they came to the swamp. A lot of the same guys in terms of the quarterback wide receivers, a couple of offensive linemen. You know given what you've seen with the Florida defense and what you've seen so far from Auburn offensively. Where is the place where you would say to yourself. College football is back. So Hilton called in me the superstition concierge to make your fan rituals a reality. You need a room to match your lucky number. We got you want to make sure our team doesn't wash your lucky jersey. Oh that smells lucky.
Hilton's unmatched hospitality can keep up with any superstition even a marching band wake up call at 555 and 55 seconds. Hit it! When you need a team that will do whatever it takes on game day it matters where you stay. Hilton for the stay. This episode is brought to you by State Farm. No two football players are exactly alike and the same is true off the field. That's why State Farm gifts to know you so they can help personalize coverage for your life and budget. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. This is where Florida is going to eat. Like if you know you think past rush but like if it's going to be a lot of quick stuff is that going to be a problem? It's going to be interesting to see what you guys OC does. I think it's really going to be a chess match that first half. I think you want to see a lot of like let me try this. Let's try to quick stuff and see how Florida responds. And you'll see Florida saying like okay let's see how quick stuff.
Let's run the ball. Let's see how they respond. If we play off and soft I expect the edges to be exposed. You know what I'm saying I expect you guys to get outside. But if you're playing confident and we're playing press when we need to. I think we'll be straight. We know what Biden Brown can do. He's not the best passer but he can get it there. And you can't create holes for him to run through. And I think at the end of the game if it's close that's going to be a problem. Like you saw in the Baylor game. He didn't he wasn't it wasn't that much running from him. But until it was like you know we need you to make a play and then he just took over the game. And at that point we don't want to be in that situation. I think a lot of guys have. The guy a lot of guys have knowledge about that playing them last year. And some are all he got the coach against golech and Biden Brown when he was at two lane. So even though two years ago you know they have that familiarity and they were able to box them in. So you know hopefully they've been preparing for this and not to focus on Campbell and a fair you the first two weeks.
Yeah I would assume that you know they were just trying to line up and play they weren't doing a lot of. I mean from a defensive standpoint is similar offensive styles right so they they had some opportunity going up against up tempo teams and all that sort of thing. So defensively I'm sure that they. You know feel like okay we've got a decent game plan we know what we need to do because again like you said the defenders have seen this. The head coach has seen it and it's not as if this is something that he said in his press conference today. You guys head coach basically said you know they're not running anything that we haven't seen before so we it's about. They have different athletes doing it though right so yeah FAU runs up tempo Campbell runs up tempo they don't have the same guy they don't have Bob and Brown back there right if he gets loose is a different proposition when he gets to that second level as opposed to FAU's quarterback Campbell's quarterback you're not worried about either those guys. No not for real. They don't have the same talent at why receiver you know so it's like I you you miss a tackle on one of these guys we'll clean them up on the next level.
Yeah miss a tackle one of these boys over yeah like it's different this D1 SEC ball like it's one of those things to where you know I don't care what the record says it doesn't matter what happened last year what's going on this year. Yeah any given Saturday you might get a national title caliber team in the SEC like you don't know how they're going to respond and my thing with Florida we've started kind of slow on defense like you know just playing kind of 10 and second half we turn up you know saying like when we get warmed up we turn up but we're in a position so where we might be up seven we might be up 10 or we just know like you're playing as Campbell short they got a field goal but like we know what's going to happen right Auburn you're not going to be able to do that so I think what we're going to see is a lot of disguising stuff on the back end a lot of pressure maybe a lot of simulator pressure to make bottom brown really have to react quickly. I expect to spy on him all day probably Aaron Charles who was probably the same size as bottom brown is just as fast that he'll probably be inspired 90% of the game but everybody else flying around making them making them move quick move quick.
So what do you think about the the run defense right because that's really that that as much as people think about this spread of temple office they think about the quick passing game. What Alex go there's wants to do they want to run the football how well do you think Florida has done and being able to stop the run so far this season. I think when we play straight ball amazing the problem the thing that scares me with our DC Brad white he stunts a lot like he's real like you know flamboyant when it comes to things and we get caught a lot of like if you go back and look at the F.A. You game a lot of those big runs because our D.T.s are you know they're stunning they're doing their supposed to do but it leaves you open to runs up the middle and that's the issue so I think with playing against bottom brown you have to control the gap. This is going to be a game where it's like yo you can't just go three four yards of field you got a I read you clogged a gap that our linebackers kind of read versus you trying to just get a sack and just pass for us the whole time.
So I think we'll be able to control the gap when we need to our guys I mean Germany McLeod right now is going crazy. Jamari lines I believe is back healthy I know we're going to be out one of our D.N.s the big the big guy from Jackson State big O. I'm not even trying to last name but we but we got guys like L.J. McRae like these are the guys that now it's all right you got the big check. This is the game where we want to see y'all crashing y'all making plays making a middle um so I feel I feel pretty confident as long as he doesn't get too excited with the play call. All right so last question before we get into I'm going to ask you for prediction necessary unless you got one for me but what I want to ask about first row game of the season right like big environment. How do you feel Aaron Filo is going to be able to handle that road environment he's never seen this before not as a starting quarterback.
I think he'll be okay and again Buster Faulkner with him being the architect I think we're going to come out with you know the runs I think we're going to do a lot of. Exotic things to make the defense be like what's that what's like who where do we go how are we going to leverage of the defense things like that to where we're going to try to create that space and I think it's going to it's going to be like light little dicks and dunks and things like that but I think he's pretty confident kid man. Him coming from Georgia Tech last year behind hands can him being being able to play against the UGA's and some of the bigger schools and those environments. Ain't no environment like Jonah here at nighttime so I ain't going to act like he been in there but I think the guys around him will be able to kind of rally like they'll just be a point guard man you don't need you to go win the game like some are all say I don't need you to be Tim Teba I don't need you to be the savior of the team. You know get it to those guys on the edge get it to who you need to get it to let them do that because I think they're ready like the VB 3's the Dallas Wilson's those guys I think they love this environment so I think he'll be alright.
It's just it just really depends on what you DC does how kind of exotic he gets and what we can take advantage of if y'all can't stop the run. College football is back so Hilton called me the superstition concierge to make your fan rituals a reality need a room to match your lucky number we got you want to make sure our team doesn't wash your lucky jersey. Oh that smells lucky. Hilton's unmatched hospitality can keep up with any superstition even a marching band wake up call it 55 and 55 seconds hit it. When you need a team that will do whatever it takes on game day it matters where you stay Hilton for the same. It's going to be one of those days where he might throw the ball 15 times. Yeah that's the thing that he majors in is trying to stop the run I think that's going to be the ultimate situation is committing to stop and run without over committing it in the box so that you don't leave those dynamic guys on the outside with too many one on one.
Where they take a two yard pitch back and turn it into a 60 yard play. So one more question I got for you here we're looking at this game. Give me at least one maybe two statistics that you're going to circle and say this is the reason why Florida gets the dog they were able to do this thing effectively like what do you feel like they have to be able to do. Whether it's offensively defensively you know limiting what what what's the stat that you're looking at saying a Florida one they want to because they did this. They the the back in man if our defense I have a stat here. What's the stat pass ranking where 77th and the nation I mean Auburn's one 16th and the nation but that ain't too good for either one you know I'm saying so I think. I think if we're able to control the back end and give our defensive line time.
That's where it's going to I think it's going to be the difference maker if we can hold those fades if we can stop them quick slants. I think our guys will be able to get home so that's going to be I think for defense wise our cornerbacks if they can hold it down. I think that opens the game up for defense and offensive line if those guys block like they have been and they get that intensity which I think they will I'm hoping that they play kind of likes because of who they're playing against and hopefully turn it up but that left side and middle. We run we're going to be a lot of runs behind 53. That left side you'll see a lot of runs behind him and I'm sure your defense accord and the nose that like that's not a secret either so those two things man online run blocking and cornerback you know coverage for sure. All right here it is you got you got a prediction you got a what what you feeling like what you feeling going to happen to keep in.
I think we of course win the game. I think I know we're going to. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah but I think we'll win by like seven like three or seven I think it'll be one score. I don't see any blowout type thing I don't see that happening but I think it'll come down to Auburn having to. So when I think it may be like you know two minute drive you know down seven you got a score to win you know I'm saying I think it'll be something like that. So you feel like defense gets to stop to finish the finalize the game yeah I think defense gets to stop. I think bottom brown goes into super man mode probably when he shouldn't. I think that's a little bit too comfortable to aggressive with that and I think that may ultimately be the difference maker I think. Based last year and him paying against bottom brown they know what they're going to do they know his tendencies you know you know he's going to run up hit that left side behind that guard if you can.
I think I think that'll be the difference maker I think he'll just try to to make a play probably a little bit more aggressive than he should be and that'll be the deciding factor maybe you know just a tackle you know short for first down or you know a long interception you know something like that but I think it'll be three or seven points. Okay all right listen I respect it I think it's going to be a close game as well I think these two things are fairly evenly matched. But it's going to take. I think to your point the defense that makes the timely stop is going to end up being the team that gets the win in this one and who's going to flinch first type of thing so we will see I'm looking forward to this one man I've been looking for since I saw it on the schedule yeah hopefully we'll be able to be talking about this again listen you are welcome to come back and talk win a lose if you want to come talk it. You know say hey respect to it you know you know how we do over here on the course of course look I talk big I talk a big game one way or the other so you know I'm saying sometimes you got to eat crow and there's what it is you know I'm fortunately I'm used to it so.
And then going to just another another Saturday night for me so I'm sure last few years we have both been a feast and on crow for whatever reason all right before you can hear tell the people how they can keep up with whatever they want to in terms of you. So the total sports everywhere man T2T underscore KB2 on Twitter you know I apologize ahead of time I'm probably a little bit more ruthless on Twitter than I am in real life you know on here and all the other atmosphere as you know I'm super nice guy Twitter you know you might you might catch one catch a stray but no so the total sports man we're alive every Sunday 11 30 eastern time we're recap what happened the day before but college sports and we give a idea what's going on. That Sunday for football we have our picks and things like that so again hey the winter lose you might you want to pull up you know talk about the game on the Sunday show you know we call it what it is man you know it is what it is. Yeah man alright brother will I appreciate it as always appreciate you coming through talking with me will definitely be talking again as a season progress but definitely have to talk about this game more as we get in here into this stuff but you know who we are we're asked the war for all over the place.
