About this episode
In this episode of MMM, Lucy and Suzanna explore the concept, range and difficulty of the word ‘perfect’, what it means to us, and how it impacts our lives.
The episode explores the route and progression of each individual’s struggle with the need to feel something is perfect to permit it for completion, or how holding onto the invisible value of ‘perfection’ can stifle the creative flow. Suzanna also draws upon her experience to insight advice and strategies for finding your creative flow and ‘authentic self’.
The two also discuss the concept of ‘WABI-SABI’, a word of Japanese origin, that is a world view centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. They also discuss ‘Kintsugi’ ("golden joinery"), a Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object.
Suzanna, a hypnotherapist, music manager and wellness manager offers her advice and tips on how to deal with this difficult time, as the duo reflect upon their own experiences of depression and anxiety as creatives.
Join the duo on their journey to break down the barriers of mental health, with an episode dropping every week.
