Seahawks' Turf Fails, Despite Super Bowl Win

Players Association Report Card, they finished fourth overall out of 32 teams, tying for the most A-grades with 14 across 17 categories. That put them ahead of many playoff contenders, including their Super Bowl opponent, the New England Patriots, who ranked 26th. What kept Seattle from the top spot was a single glaring low mark. While teams like Miami, Minnesota, and Washington had no grade below a B, the Seahawks took an F in one area. That outlier dragged down their overall score, even though they had just two B's alongside all those A's. Players gave Lumen Field, their home stadium, that failing grade because of its artificial turf surface. Nobody likes playing on turf. It's still tougher on the body than natural grass, despite improvements. Seattle isn't alone. Teams in Buffalo, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Tennessee, and even the Giants and Jets at Shared Met Life Stadium handed out. Similar low marks for their fields.

The Seahawks are temporarily switching to grass for the World Cup, but the turf comes back after. Officials know it could sway free agents or raise injury risks, yet fixing it permanently stays a challenge. Still, the Seahawks shine elsewhere, with their head coach, general manager, ownership, and especially defensive coordinator Adam Durde pulling top. And grades, including one Rare A+. That player respect could keep them contending strong.
