Have you seen it, Jeff? I have not seen it, but I can see in the chat already that people aren't too happy. So it might be a little happy, but what's wrong with me? So you don't want to see it? Let's put it up. Let's put it up. Here's the... Okay, I can get it, that's pretty short. So, you know, I feel like you earned that. You earned that. So, how are you doing on this fine Saturday, my friend? I'm all right. I'm all right. It was a fun week of stuff. We were starting a really good weather in Toronto this week, and it was a really big tease, because yesterday I woke up, and there was massive snowstorm. And so, March and Canada is always pretty crazy, but we had like the real highs, highs, and the lows and lows. So, did not expect to see the snow all day yesterday, and I had to drive like 15 minutes for work.

4:07I could barely see... It's been a long winter here, so at least having some football here has been able to get me through it. Yeah, it's good to talk to you again. Yeah, I... Well, for once we have a similar weather story to tell, we woke up yesterday, and there was snow on the ground, or like no one had talked about it, no one had predicted it, and then it just snowed. It kept snowing the whole day, and it was one of those things where you look at your... If you ever look at Apple weather on your phone, it's got to be the worst app ever. I mean, I'm literally looking at it all day, and it's like rain, and I'm like, no, it's snowing. In fact, there's inches of snow on the ground, and here's the other thing, Jeff. So, I live in the northwest. There are trees everywhere. We had a tree fall on our car in our last house, total that car. We had a tree fall on our house years ago, went through our bathroom, like the roof into the bathroom.

5:12We've had multiple trees fall. So yesterday, of course, of course, halfway through the day, a tree, a massive tree. I, like, literally my wife and I are watching it, and it just... You hear it, and you watch it, and it comes down right across the street onto our power lines. Sparks everywhere, like, blocks the streets, and I had plans this morning to play golf with my buddies in Portland. I'm driving down there, unfortunately, for a memorial service of a high school friend, but we were going to play golf today and see each other, but we were told it was going to take days for them to get the power back up, and I felt like, you know what, I can't go play golf and leave Rachel, you know, to deal with this. So I'll stick around. I wake up this morning, the power's back. So I don't know, man, I'm not going to complain about it, but a little bit, a little bit, like, upside down. That's why we're starting a little bit later than normal.

6:14I didn't know what today was going to be, but I'm happy to be here and check with you on a little Seahawks stuff to remind everybody about what really matters. So, yeah, when I was in Florida for a month in December, and Brian was always asking me, like, checking in, like, how is it? I was with my parents and Samara, my wife was there. Brian was always like, how is Samara doing? Like, checking in. So the one thing that drove her crazy is my dad, he's in his late 60s. Every day what he would do is he would pull up the Apple weather app, and he had to constantly tell everyone what the weather was going to be. It was never close to right, but every single day, he had to tell everyone what the weather was going to be on that Apple app. It was, she's like, I get to take it anymore. I mean, it's pretty wild that people go to school and study meteorology, and even with all the advancement models and all this stuff they do, to be wrong as often as they are, it's pretty wild to me.

7:14And I mean, I think we might be right more often about who the Seahawks are going to pick in the draft than whether people are about telling us what the weather's going to be like. But it sounds like 49ers fans, maybe they operate that. There's a lot of Google Gemini signs in San Jose. Have you noticed, have you noticed that like, it's almost like there's some big 49ers group chat, where they've all decided that the way that they're going to cope with what happened in their stadium, now the Seahawks stadium, last season, is there's a couple strategies. They're like, nobody cares about your Super Bowl. It was the most boring game everyone's forgotten. I've seen people say, well, your trash city is never going to host a Super Bowl. I don't give a shit. Like, I don't care if we never host a Super Bowl. I care how many we win, and by the way, inching closer to your number of Super Bowls, and certainly more in the last 30 years than you've

8:15got. And then I think the other one I see is like, oh man, I'm I'm spacing on it. But I mean, they're all like really, they're weird, man. It's like, it's a really, but they're common. Like, they've decided that this is the way they're going to try to cope with what happened last year. Yeah, I saw you getting into it a few people already. So you're, you're taking on mine, I should not do that. Should I like rise above it? Like, what do you think? Depends. Do you want to sink down to a Twitter cop level? It's not a fun world to be in. Like, you're having to defend me this week already with like Meena Kimes, who was like misunderstanding what I was saying, but it's not the best world to be in. You're kind of singing below your level. But I think you have to, if you're at the game, and you're clearly at the game, you're at a book, if you have that picture of the Levi Stadium sign saying Super Bowl champions, I know I took it, I know Rob took it, you have to take advantage of that sign as much you can, or the things of them in the locker room. I'm sorry, you have to send them that picture, and they can try to cope

9:19anyway they want. That picture that says Levi Stadium, Seahawks Super Bowl champion, it's, I can't stop looking at it. Yeah, yeah, I mean, generally I, I avoid it, but every once in a while, I'm just like, shut up, like shut up, like you guys are embarrassing, and man, it's not just the stadium, it's the locker room that the Seahawks like, toasted in, and also the fact is Jeff, I don't know, the 49ers are ever going to win a Super Bowl in their own stadium, like the Seahawks will have more Super Bowls in their stadium probably than the 49ers ever will. So, I don't know, man, I feel like it is a forever thing, but, man, craziness coming from the 49ers. I want to do want to talk about some of the moves that they've made. They came up in the news even this morning with the Nick Boas, a restructure. We'll get into what's going on across the NFC West. And we're also, as the nice little thumbnail showed,

10:23we're going to do some Twitter patrol with Jeff's Twitter cop Jeff Simmons later. I wanted to start with kind of some fun because Jeff last week, you and I, compared our off-season plans, and what we wanted to do at specific positions. And I'm not going to go through bit by bit, but I'm going to kind of give folks a reminder. So, for the running back position, both of us wanted Tyler Algier. And I wanted Sean Tucker as well, and then we both wanted to draft. Let's just take a second there. The Seahawks did not do that. They signed a manual Wilson, and that's it. How are you feeling about the running back position and what's going on there? I think it's the hardest part of the Seahawks off season to feel great about right now. Algier was the guy we both identified because of where we thought the market would go, and we both thought he, we were comfortable with him at a higher number. See him at 625 a year and seeing Robinson go to the guy from Washington.

11:29Is it Robinson? Oh, no, no, no. Chris Rodriguez went to Jacksonville at the CPY. And Algier is a far better player, but yeah, I'm still a little disappointed that didn't happen. I think it would have been much easier to just get behind. He'd be a much better stop gap. You're far less for lines on the draft, but you probably would have lost the compic at that number. And so maybe that's the Seahawks strategy. I would feel a lot better with Algier than a manual Wilson and whatever 5th round compic they might still lose or still not get. Because I think Algier has pretty good upside too. Yeah, I mean, I don't care about people going to Arizona because what a trash franchise that is. Now, the thing I will say, Jeff, the comp pick stuff does seem to be playing a factor and him signing at six million would have affected the comp pick formula, like the two million for a manual Wilson does not. Also, it doesn't matter because he was an RFA that they didn't tender, so they could have signed up for any number, and it wouldn't have mattered. It does seem like the comp pick aspect is a real priority, and I don't know if you heard James Gladstone talk about it and other folks, but this seems to be a more prominent strategy. I think a lot of people think about the comp picks as literally the way you and I have talked about it, which is, well, who have you drafted with those picks? But I think the teams are looking at it as this allows us to move up and down the draft board. It allows us to trade a fourth and a fifth for Rashid Shaheed during the season. It gives us, see, I'll try to have 12 picks in the 2027 draft. With that in mind,

15:45does it change your feeling at all on comp picks? Well, if you listened to our show last week when you were kind of making fun of me, I said the one argument that would make me wrong is that they can be traded now. But when I heard Gladstone, he said something I didn't even think of, because I was specifically talking with trading once you get the comp picks to move up in the draft. But what he said was actually pretty interesting that because you know they're coming, you could trade other 2027 picks away in season before the season. And I never thought about that angle as much, and he talked about trades that they made in Jacksonville. So I said, look, the area I focused on is if I'm in the Seahawks and I'm in the Super Bowl window, and we have the choice of Tyler Algier, who might be a very valuable player for us versus Emmanuel Wilson who won't counter against the comp pick, I'd rather take Tyler Algier than risk a pick at the end of the fifth round in 2027, which probably won't be anything. But the trading part, again, I said it last week, if that's the area you could attack my argument, I think it's fair. That was a good point. I hadn't thought about

16:47that. And maybe I was even wondering now, do they make a trade before this draft of one of those picks with knowing all those picks are coming? When all the running backs are coming up the board, and I saw that they have 12 projected picks for next year, I wondered about that. Maybe there's a guy in the draft they move up for. Yeah. Or maybe there's a guy they might have. So yeah, if it was purely just like hoping to get a good player next year in the fifth round, I'd feel pretty shitty about passing on a Tyler Algier to take that risk. But yeah, I think especially with the trade Schneider's done in season, that's his strength. And so yeah, I can see some value in what they're thinking there. Yeah. And to be clear for folks that are trying to follow along, it's not that you can trade the comp picks before you get them. But if you basically, once you hit the draft, as long as you haven't signed anyone else, you're locked in for your comp picks that you're going to get, the teams have a pretty good idea. So then you can trade picks that you do already have, because the comp picks don't get awarded till the next offseason. But you can confidently trade some

17:52of the picks you do already have in 2027 in the 2026 draft to move around that board, even if you want to do that. So I think it makes a lot of sense. And it's a good nuance that I think a lot of team, like it's not just the Seahawks that are playing this game. There's a number of teams Jacksonville Denver, you know, a few others that are certain Los Angeles, the chargers, I think are playing it as well. We'll talk a little bit more about Manu Wilson when we get to the draft mock draft part of this. Wide receiver, you and I both did not think that Rashid Shaheed was coming back. I had like make this the priority number two in the draft. You had it a day two draft pick. So second or third round, you said to bring back Bobo, you know, you said to kick the tire on Mike to kick the tires on Mike Evans. So I know you don't know where that went. You know, I said bring back Cody White. And this is all like with the assumption I thought Bobo was gone based off what the report had been. He's been tender. He hasn't been signed yet. But now the Seahawks have signed Rashid Shaheed and

18:57tender Bobo. So this feels like a pretty big departure from what you and I had for the wide receiver plan. Yeah, when you heard John Schneider on his radio show the week before basically say like they've been testing for agency for weeks now. It seemed like and then Shepter put it a tweet. It seemed like that was pretty obvious. And the Raiders had a hundred million dollars in cap room and there was an obvious tie between Clint Cubiak and Sheet. They've been to the other two years in a row. It seemed like everything was just pointing there. And what really kind of took my when they signed Jalen Nailer to I think 13 million a year earlier in the day. I was on the stream and I think you had to go get a your insurance adjuster. I started talking through that. And I was like maybe they Shaheed comes back. Again, I felt like I was just reaching at that point. But that's seemed to see what happened. Even Schneider said on his show this week, they really stuck through that. I don't think they thought it was going to happen. I bet you they had a plan similar to ours. And I till hearing John on his show, he seemed genuinely surprised. So

20:00if he's surprised, there's no way we could have predicted that outcome. I think what happened was the other teams moved in Brian. I think he texted this to me. I can't remember. I don't know if you said this on air. But I'm guessing Sheet turned down some other offers to come back. I'm guessing the Raiders and the bills. Those were the teams that were really tied to Sheet. They made other moves. They built one DJ Moore, which one of the more questionable moves of the whole offseason so far, based on what they gave up. They gave a second round pick. Michael Pimman went for a six seven swap. So other guys got traded for seventh round picks this week. And so they probably be wondering. They took on like 27 million a year for DJ Moore just declining. I don't know. So she lost that market. And then the Raiders again, they went in different direction. And so it kind of worked in Seattle's favor by just sticking around and not being aggressive. Yeah. Raiders ended up getting a Dorik Young among others. So some, some sea ox wide receiver, but not the one may be expected. For the edge position, this is, you know, a prior, for me, I made it the priority one in the draft.

21:02And I was saying that they should extend to Chennai-Wosu. This was back before Max Crosby's trade had been nullified, by the way. So and that he supposedly is back with LA. I lost Vegas. I'm not convinced. But anyway, you had, make sure to Mark Lawrence is coming back, Bradley Chubb and Vaughn Miller. One thing I want to just vent about for a second, like, can we stop saying we've got sources for stories that like, I know I just keep venting about this. It's annoying to me. But like, Jonathan Hankins went on the, what was it, the Wyman and Bob show or something? Brock and Salk. And yeah, it's Brock and Salk. That's right. And he said, essentially, that he thinks to Mark Lawrence is coming back. And then like, we get like two days later, people saying I've got a source that he's coming back. Like, come on, man. Like, let's not play that game. Yeah. Like,

22:03we've seen even like the national repairs. Like, I don't know if you guys followed Diana receding Salk thing with AJ Brown yesterday, where we're getting just, he's clearly getting fed bullshit to try to leak the other teams. And let's wait and see. There's people who is clearly, once the Mark Lawrence comes out and it's agreed, we'll hear it from the people who break news typically. So like, yeah, I think if you've been following Brock and Salk, you would have heard that Jonathan Hankins clip by now. We heard Lawrence at the parade say he's coming back. I just don't understand why people are trying to get into the source game all the time. It's an ugly game. You can even see like the national media guys now. They don't even hide where they get their information from information comes now from agents or from teams and every national media post pile, Sarah, all those guys will say, this wasn't negotiated by this agent. So when things are going to get out, they're going to get out. We don't need the whole leak to people like pretend like they're insiders. It's a dangerous game. I've seen so many people get burned on that, even like this Ricky the dog guy who knows who this guy is, but he hit a rough week too. I don't

23:06know who he is, but it's just, it's not going to get you credibility. It's going to have anything heard credibility. Yeah, I mean, whatever. It's not the thing I should just let go, but it drives me a little bit nuts. So speaking of the edge position, though, the sea ox, you know, obviously, boy, Maffe moves on and they haven't done anything. I think if I was to guess right now, I still think Von Miller is a very realistic option for them. I think that he's the kind of guy they will probably try to wait out until after the draft to where they could sign him without affecting the comp pick formula. So I think that might be their plan is to draft somebody or see what comes to them in the draft and then get one of these veteran edges who are very happy to not be part of, you know, OTAs and minicamps and all that stuff and and just bring them in later. What's what's your thought? Yeah, and that's why I identified Bradley

24:06Chubb as the guy who I thought might fit because he was going to get cut so that won't count against the comp pick. The one thing I've gotten way more wrong, I thought he would be pretty cheap. Buffalo blew that and it was funny because that came out the second he got released. He signed one minute later. So they'd been, they'd obviously have done that deal for a while now, but there's only years 52 and a half million dollars. So basically what she'd got to be deal. Yeah, that, that, that crushed me because I was way off about that. I wasn't close, but yeah, I think all indications are I don't personally love this edge group in the draft. And maybe as we get more into the draft of the next month or so, maybe I'll change my tune, but we're crazy. The draft's only like six weeks away. I know. It's true. I need to give you a couple of weeks to like relax, but the draft's a little earlier this year than usual, but is it? I think that's like a week earlier this year or like the weekend before, but I think what you

25:09said is dead on. I think at this point, you're in the to that like third to your edge market, you're not going to cut off your compix. You've been this discipline so far. Why would you go against it? I don't see them as a Johnathan Grinard team. It doesn't really make sense to me to give up from the picks you have and then pay a guy more than what do you do with Neuosu at that point? What do you do with Hall? It leads to a lot of questions. I don't see that at all. I think the Eagles make going there. I think like you said is dead on. I think you wait till the draft. If you draft a guy and that makes sense, then you don't have a desperate need. And if you do, then you sign a guy, maybe Vaughn Miller is probably still around after the draft, but they're still a pretty good volume of edge players. Like Clownie at the end of the year, he always signs closer to the season. Maybe that comes back, but I don't want to say that for like the 20. I think it would be like the Vaughn Miller, Cam Jordan, Jadavian Clownie kind of group. Yeah, it's those guys are the guys who probably want to sign after free agency. And you're pretty much in line with exactly keep your

26:09compics. See the draft goes. And if you can add them, then great. All right. We'll return to the CX in a second. Since you brought up the bills, I just had to bring up there. This is really just a quick detour. I am so confused by the bill's plan here. This was like a terrible run defense. That was like really one of their biggest weaknesses was just their defense in general. And Bradley Chubs, not a great run defender. They've done nothing in the trenches on the defensive side. I don't understand what they're doing, dude. They're sneakily, well, I don't know how sneaky it is. If you saw that branded bean press conference with the owner, they're one of the sneaky like bad run teams at the NFL. That's what I'm getting at. Josh Allen's. So in the last, oh, I've been cut off the show. In the last two year, a couple of seasons, the bills have been in this window. And they made a big play for Vaughn Miller after the Rams, after you won the Super Bowl at the Rams. It really didn't work. Then to counteract that last year, they brought in Joey Bosa, who's kind of

27:15beaten down version of what he used to be, didn't work. And so how did they respond from that? They find Bradley Chubb coming off the injury. It's like they've done the same thing three times in a row. It hasn't worked. They're the exact same profile. And like you said, it's like they don't know what the problem is. The receiver group has been awful considering they had Josh Allen. And you see all these receivers go for like, yeah, high prices. But the trade, a second round pick for DJ Moore made no sense if you're going to take on the full contract. Everyone's laughing at them. They haven't addressed their problems. What happened in this office is when they got rid of Sean McDermott and they gave the whole organization power. Sort of what's happened to Seahawks in a way. But Brandon Beans been pretty bad. I would be very uncomfortable if I was a Bill's fan seeing the moves they made, the prices they've paid. They've got an older. It's just like every once in a while, like the commanders last year were that team where I just did not understand what they were doing. And when you've got, I mean, both those teams have franchise quarterbacks. And like Josh Allen, MVP level player. And I just,

28:23it's kind of a shame to watch them completely mismanage it. But that's enough on the bills. A couple more things on Seahawks' offseason plan. Cornerback. I had a re-sign Josh Job, make it the third priority in the draft. And then maybe play around with like a veteran that you pick up if he gets cut. You had make it that would number one priority in the draft, sign Josh Job or Monterey Brown. Monterey Brown, I think he ended up going for more than Job, if I remember correctly. Quite a few million. Yeah. So position-wise, Monterey Brown went for 11 million a year, 33 million overall. And Josh was 8 million, 24 overall. So yeah, quite a big difference. I don't think much we need to talk about there. I don't think much change has changed. Safety, this one's interesting, man. I had it as tied for cornerback in terms of draft priority. Maybe sign like a non-compic-affecting player. You said hunt for value if Kobe is under 12 million

29:26go for him. Otherwise, Nick Cross, Little High Gilman, and if they did nothing, you'd be fine with it. This is one of the few places that they've signed an external free agent, Rodney Thomas II. And they brought back AJ Finley, who is a safety. They also signed DeAnthony Bell, who I talked about on the show this week, a little bit, as it made sense to me. And so now you've got all those guys, plus you've already brought back Tio Cotta. Here's a shift worth noting, better health care is care that meets patients where they are. 31:31basically go to the draft and if they find someone they like, add to it there. Yeah, I think they took my hunt to value and they multiplied it by 500. And so my hunt to value would have been like Nick Cross, who I liked, he signed for seven million a year. That would have hurt a compick. I would have loved to deal like that. But they went to a whole extreme with Ronnie Thomas is probably making close to the minimum. I didn't, to be fair, I didn't know where Ronnie Thomas was. People, if you search some of his highlights, you've seen some good plays. You've seen some pretty bad moments. He was kind of screwed up on a big hail Mary moment that impacted the COX draft a couple of years ago. But I think it's exactly what you said. And I don't want to just seem like I'm agreeing with you. I think it's pretty clear. They feel good enough where they can go into next season right now and play. Like, I think it's a good sign for Ty O'Cotta. I think that's a stamp of approval for him. I think they have depth pieces in case guys get hurt. I think we know Anthony Belkin playing a pinch. He did this year. I think someone and John said one of their pro guys, the way they work with their pro guys is they identify each guy with different teams and the guy who does the cold.

32:35So I can't remember his name specifically, but John was talking about him at highlight of Ronnie Thomas is a guy they liked. And so apparently it offers to play elsewhere. I don't know if that's just speak, but apparently they did. And that's what they did. They hunted for value. They did impact their compics. It is a pretty deep safety draft. I don't know if those top safeties will fall to them at 32. And so if it doesn't work out, I don't think you need to add another body. I think you can play with this group. Yeah. Yeah. I would certainly feel better if you had a young and up-and-comer like that was developing behind or challenging Ty or whatever, but yeah. Yeah. I think it's in a much healthier spot in terms of total bodies than it was, you know, just a couple days ago. All right. Right guard. I said internal competition, make it a fourth priority in the draft. Maybe look at James Daniels because he doesn't affect compics. You said, and this is where I have problems with you, Jeff. You cheated. You put Elijah Vera Tucker and you're like, yeah, maybe we can get him on a good deal. Like, I think if I'm

33:38right, I'm going to pull up in the position tracker. I think he was the second highest paid guard, 16 million a year. I face, we'll just weigh off on this one. Everyone says I agree here. I thought he'd be cheap coming off the injuries he's had. He got into a 14-biting war. The Jets, the Giants, the Browns, and the Patriots. He went to the best team there. He got huge money. And the Jets and the Giants were both loaded with Caproob. We're like disgusted with what they offered. So I read that one wrong. I thought he'd be cheap. I thought he'd be a value-signing him and Bradley Chubb just surprised me. And maybe that's pure name value. Maybe those are mistakes in coming. Those guys got the numbers that I didn't see how it sort of laughed at. Well, so let's bring up kind of the state of the Seahawks for people that have not seen it recently.

34:38This is where we stand on Saturday, March 14. It's a long list of players. Now, granted, some of these guys are signed before free agency Charles Cross and even Drake Thomas was last week and so forth. But it's a long list. The only guys that really are not yet signed are Chaz Sarat and Cody White. So like, this is mostly done. They've lost Ken Walker, Boy Mafe, Kobe Bryant, Tarek Wolland and Tarek Young. I still, for me, Ken Walker is the one that just hurts there. The rest of them, I kind of understand. But if you look at this overall, Jeff, what do you like the most and where do you feel like there's something that you doesn't sit well with you? I like the most that they were able to get Joe back at his price. I thought, once Monk Tarek Brown won for 11 million a year, I thought Joe would surpass that.

35:39To get him an 8 million, I think that was one of the best free agent deals in the whole market. And it kind of fits the whole plan. I thought, with this cornerback class, I think it was a perfect way. A lot of people had odd reactions to Riku and we could talk about that in a little bit. I would have get under 5% chance he'd recite, even as price. The thing that's shocked me in a good way is look at the volume of players they brought back. The number of bottom of the roster, that's very uncommon for a Super Bowl team. When I was studying how championship teams kind of come out, those are the guys you almost always lose, like Josh Jones. To get him back, do we have the price on that one? I don't know if we do. I don't think we do yet. Let me do a quick little while you're talking to see if I can find it. I would get a chance to play in a bad team and start. To get all these depth players back, that's rare. Like 2013, they got cleaned out at that level. That's what tends to have in the Super Bowl teams. The Philadelphia Eagles last year got cleaned out in their defensive line. You see, obviously Walker and Riku. I think those are

36:42the two guys that will sting more so than BoA or Kobe. I think Kobe is a lot more replaceable. I don't think Riku was ever in the plants. I don't think there was a plan that we're going to sign through corners in one off season. But to get all these bottom of the roster guys, it's almost pretty rare. It shows how much Mike and them value special teams. You can see a lot of special teams contributors signed. But John talks about that 70-man team a lot to bring all these guys back. A lot of them are one-year deals. It just shows they're a pretty good group. I think obviously we're all in the same spot. The running back position is the one that leaves you uncomfortable. The free agent market was not great. I think that's why we all had highlighted Elk cheer. Something like Kenny Gainwell. I would have liked to have a better hedge. I get what they like about Emmanuel Wilson. He is kind of sharpening the light. He doesn't have the great breakaway speed. He doesn't have an upside. He can run the ball pretty hard. He's a competent back. Some people in Green Bay really liked him. You can play with him tomorrow. But I would have

37:46liked to have a more suitable plan. I don't know if I would have got the 15 million on Walker. But look, I was the one saying franchise tag them and go with that. I still think you could have franchise tag them and maybe you give up one compick. I feel a lot better about the offseason. If you franchise tag them and you see me and if he plays great again next year, it leaves to another decision. But I think that other than that, but they signed both tackles during the season. That looks fantastic. They get Joe back. Keep their tackled depth. They get Shaheed back. But again, I think the number one cool thing they did is just the volume of players. That is uncommon. Like go to 2013 and see all the players they've lost. That's usually what happened. So if you go back, it's like Brown or Thurmond, Golden Tate, Mike Rob, they had to cut Chris Clemens and Red Bryant. If you remember the 2014 Super Bowl, they were having some like street free agents playing in that game. There's more like Chris Marigost was the kind of guy who would have left in this scenario. They had all those guys come back. And so it puts up in a

38:49spot where they can replace Woolen pretty clearly in the draft is maybe not as good. But boy, I'm off. I think his spot is pretty clear. The one thing that's just the really uncertain thing hanging over the offseason is running back because a you've eliminated a minute picks. You don't want to overdraft for running back. And b, it's not a great running back class. I think everyone said that question. I think you're left with right now. Did they handle that right? Should they just sign Walker? Should they have signed out jeer? I think you have more unanswered questions and feel great about their plan right now. But everything else, I think it's close to a. Yeah, like one of the ways that I've been trying to track this stuff across the league and not all the contract number you're in. But this is sorting by how much money you spent on external free agents. So this is not resigns. This is just external players. It's not surprising to see some of these teams at the top that had bad rosters, right? But you look down here, the Seahawks,

39:51the only team that's been less and the only team that hasn't signed in a single external free agent, at least I haven't maybe they have since I last checked, but the Broncos. And there's some numbers to come in. So this number's a little bit higher, but I don't think it's going to be a lot higher. So yeah, like it's been a real emphasis in terms of how many players they have signed versus how many of those guys are from, you know, other teams. It's striking. Like it definitely the plan reads, I mean, you can, you know, obviously you can look over here at their patient list. There's a lot of guys that have reupped with the team. So it is, it's striking to see that for sure. So yeah, like I think I think I gotta stop pressing that button. Sorry, I don't know why it's I'm used to doing the show solo. 41:51excited? Officer Simmons. Well, Fragency Week is a big week of takes and opinions. So we could spend probably hours on this, but a lot of it was just news. So it took me later in the week before the real citations need to be handed at. And so we were talking about 49ers fans early in there. We could do, again, David Lombardi gives us material everywhere. He's just a hollow fame at this point. You know, we don't need to spend time on him. But people are starting to act by him. So this is the weirdest one I saw. And I saw you kind of get into this guy. There's an account called Lobs All Day. Yeah. And that's a 49ers fan clearly. And maybe they're biased. And one of my rules in general is like, you're not allowed to talk about things that happen with your team before you are born or before you're old enough to like appreciate it. Like I'm a Blue J's fan. They won the World Series when I was five years old. If I went around and bragged about that, like you're just a shitty person at that point. You can't do that. And that's basically every 49ers fan online. Like they haven't won since 1994. So you can't brag about how many chime in chips you won.

42:57In the last 30 years, they haven't done shit other than losing the Super Bowl. So but anyway, side rant. Here's his take. Seahawks fans keep yapping about the 49ers playoff lost by the way, which was 42 to six to remind them 41 Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, George Kittle. Okay, that's fair to start, but it keeps going. Dre Greenlaw, Mike Evans, Osa, Ozzy Adusa. I don't know to say his name. Those guys weren't on the team. How can you say they're yapping about a playoff loss with the guys who weren't on their team because they were injured, but be literally guys who were not on their team last year. How could that be a justification? This may be one of the biggest citations of all time because we saw what happened a couple of weeks when George Kittle wasn't the game. They couldn't score. They couldn't do shit against the Seahawks defense. And

43:57David Lombardi is still bragging about this week one thing, which is so lovable in a number of levels. A week one is a historical outlier. And last year, for example, the worst team in the league, the Raiders beat the AFC champion chips in week one. So you think like the Raiders are all jacked that we beat the AFC champion chips. Yeah, that's why you fired your coach, trade your quarterback for a seventh round pick. And the Seahawks had a first game with a new quarterback, a new OC, who by the way, that's a terrible game. So if that's your Super Bowl, you're just embarrassing yourself at this point. Sighted. Okay, next. So another one was a writer who used to cover the Raiders. He's now covering, I think all of Los Angeles teams or California teams still does the Raiders stuff. And his name is Vincent Bonsignor. And he's a good writer. He's one of the few Raiders good to be writers. And I noticed he started writing more RAM stuff. And one thing he put in it kind of hurt me was in his article about the Rams off season, it was like the Rams were

45:02convinced they were better than the Seahawks last year. And I saw that and I like something snapped in my head. It's just so arrogant and it's so in line with what we've heard about the Rams. And so I sent him a tweet just kind of Twitter patrolling. I'm like, how on earth could you possibly think that they had two, they beat them twice in the game they lost. They had four interceptions and still almost lost in a miskick. And all these people were thought I was saying like the Seahawks right now are better than the Rams, which again you can make an argument for. But that wasn't what I was saying. I think that's an absurd view. If you're the Rams and that's your view like we were better than them and they won. The Rams had two major weaknesses. One which they just spend a first round pick and a huge free agent signing on. The other was there are disaster special teams which cause them to fire their coach and fire all these players. Those were vulnerable spots on the team. The Seahawks didn't have and they lost both the NFC championship and the week 16 game because of those two weaknesses. The Seahawks were a more

Again, we don't want to talk about Rick Woolen, but that low I got after that Rick play and then it's just that is like the Seahawks 49ers game from 2013. It was pretty good. It's pretty good. Man, it is coming down snow again. Really? Coming down, man. All right, keep going. This is one of one of our staff members or favorite people. But Joe Siena Anderson always kind of comes out of the woodwork during free agency. And she put out a tweet about the New England Patriots were trying to trade for receivers. And I think one of them was like AJ Brown. And one of them was Chris O'Lavi, which is a perplexing idea. And I saw like underdog. It's just like one of those aggregating accounts. Like say like, Joe Siena Anderson reported that the Patriots won AJ Brown and Chris O'Lavi. And so

48:06Brian again caught me saying like, why are you sharing that nonsense? It's clearly garbage. It's like, how does that come across your mind? Like the Saints have a rookie quarterback. They're literally buying players to fit their rookie quarter. They're in the rookie quarterback window. Well, it's how their shucks wait until second year now. He's cost nothing. He's the 40th overall pick last year. They're adding guards and they're adding players. And you think they're going to trade their one receiver on their team away. They don't even have another receiver. It was so stupid. I don't know how anyone could have missed this. And somehow underdog just, they want to share everything. But I was, I just understand that it's so obvious that the Saints are going to keep Chris O'Lavi. Like, well, they were last year when it was funny me and Brian had identified where he'd jahed like week one. As a guy, he'd see my trade for. But like a lot of they had concussion issues. So maybe you're going to get rid of them. But Tyler Shuck moving forward and like, they're not even in cap hell anymore. The Saints, they've had like a normal offseason where they've spent money on players and they're in a healthy spot to trade their young emerging

49:10receiver who was great with their quarterback. I thought it was so stupid. That's a citation for me. I'm surprised you have not hit someone with the initials dr. Oh, she's next. I know she's your favorite. Look, Diana Rossini is coming up next and she's, she's become like in the group of insiders, whatever. She works her ass off. She's really become in that like Ian Rappaport. But for this week, we saw the good and the bad of being some of those insiders. I can hand out a whole citation just inside for the amount of people that were carrying water for the Ravens and the whole Max Crosby thing. But yesterday we just reached a level of just parroting nonsense or just total garbage that pissed me off. Let's be real. One thing like we learn in journalism and like you'll see like a Mike Sando who like quietly just goes about doing

50:13everything so well. He does his quarterback tears. The one thing I learned at early ages just because someone tells you something doesn't mean it's true. And it seems like what Diana does is she just puts out anything she hears. And again, she hears a lot. She works her ass off to get in this position. But yesterday comes out in the morning that like the Rams are monitoring the AJ Brown stuff and Brian sent to me and like something snapped in my head. I'm like, this is such bullshit. And I'm thinking the bag of my if they trade for him today, I'm going to look so stupid. And then it comes out again. The Rams and the Patriots from Diana two hours later are making a real push. So I'm like, oh no, like this is going to make me look so bad if this is right. And that like five o'clock yesterday, my time, it comes out. The Eagles are not trading AJ Brown. They're not going to revisit this until June 1st. So like it just became I just had a big I put it out like an LOL thing. I was just laughing. It's just at that point, you're just a parrot for the Eagles.

51:13Like you're just putting out nonsense to try to raise their trade values. Getting all these like maybe I'm okay, but like the idea of like the Rams trading for him just seems a little preposterous. But you're just being a parrot at this point. Like you have to have some level of respect. Like Diana's done this in the past. We're like a couple years ago. Like people were not hiring Mike Frabel. And she's like, what executive told me that people were scared to hire Mike Frabel because of how physically big he is. He is big. And he is big. He's huge. But like if somebody tells me that I'd probably keep that in my pocket. Maybe I said to some people over beers. We're just making these people look bad. Again, all these Eagles fans were going nuts to Diana yesterday because she she looked pretty bad in this whole thing. She seems to be like one of the only ones that's reported about AJ Brown being on the block like multiple times. And so I think Eagles fans are kind of sick of like her crying wolf. And just at some point like you got to have some level of like if the team's telling you this, it's because they're strategically

52:15planting it there. And do you want to be the person that's just become a strategic plant? Then you piss off entire fan. And I think she lives in like New Jersey. There are husbands and Eagles fan or something like that. So I didn't think it was a great look. I'll be honest. All right. Was that your final one or do you have one more? I say we end with that. I think 49ers fans can have their own whole episode of Twitter Copping. But I think this week where some Seahawks fans were getting very worked up about Rick Woolen and calling the Seahawks cheap. I want to hand a citation out. Her rope go on a bit of a rant on your show with the collective. I thought that was probably a little further than where I would go from the standpoint. But if you were shocked and surprised and bothered that the Seahawks didn't sign Rick Woolen, I think you're just missing what's in front of you. So I'm going to give out some Seahawks fans' citation here. We need to read what the tea leaves. Like Brady Henderson came on your show last year and said one out of ten they signed him. And I think your job was your job must drop to the floor when he said that because Rick Woolen's

53:15a really good player. But I think the fact that they paid Josh Joe, but I think the reports we heard from the media, I think the picture of a fresh prince that he put out right after all those players started coming out. Like if there was every sign that they weren't going to make a move on him, we've had guys in our chats where like I don't understand why they didn't make him an offer. They must have made him an offer. I don't think they did. I think every indication was they were not going to pay that guy. I think they really respected how he came around last year, but they were almost trading him. So I think there's just a lot of people that were missing pretty obvious signs. And maybe I'm just so online and I joke with your son Isaac that I'm way too online all the time. And he laughs at me because he's probably what 15 years younger than me. And he's not nearly as online. So bad luck on me. But I think it was pretty obvious. Every indication was. And so if you were one of those people expecting the CXS sign week, I think you just missed the mark there. That will do it for this week's edition of the best man. Love it. Time we do it. 54:30that to wrap up. And one question I have before we get into that is the 49ers, restructure Nick Bosa's contracts. They freed up a bunch of money in this year's cap. They, he has like a $55 million cap hit next year. So they kicked the can down the road on that. Do you think, I'll give you a few choices and if you have others go, do you think A, that means that they're going to sign Joey Bosa? B, that they are going to try to make a trade and bring in somebody that's costly. See none of the above something else. My guess is mostly A. I guess it's A. It's a boring answer, but I'm guessing that they're going to add more to that group. Maybe it's a trend Williams negotiating plan. Maybe they're trying to do him, but I think they're trying to lower his number if anything. And they're just, they tell what they tend to do is they tend to like create room and push it to the future because

55:32they know the cap is going to keep going up. So this is kind of how they operate typically. They tend to do things. They've already taken on the $20 million defensive tackle trade. They just did this week. And I don't think there's a ton of players that are on the market, but I don't think John the Grinard makes a ton of sense for them. I don't know if he plays in that system of defense. So I think it's probably just going to be Bosa. Maybe they resolve the trend Williams thing, but I think the one question I have, they have made some nice moves. Is they haven't touched their offensive line? And we don't know if trend Williams is coming back. And then how old is he now, 37? That should have been one of my other choices. Is this a move to clear up some space for trend Williams? That's my question. But even so, like I'm looking at that offensive line group, which has been a point of contention for some of the real 49ers writers. And they haven't done anything. They've lost Spencer Burford, who's a pretty replacement level guy, but it's the same group called McIvitz. And we like Dominic Pune, but Jake Bremble wasn't very good. And I saw Mr. Lombardi, he's just like a caricature at this point. Like they sign like the equivalent of

56:33like a Jake Curran the other day. And I put up my thing and like it'd be hilarious if one party does like a bunch of tweets just talking about good this guy. He's been like a career backup. Yeah, I literally go on as a count. And he's literally like this guy's been like a four-year starter from the army. Like how could anyone make fun? I'm like, you're a caricature at this point. So that's been their only move on the offensive line. And then the backup we talked about last week, but Darian Lowe, I think his name was. They haven't touched that group. So I'm still wondering what's going on. Well, with that in mind, let's get into a mock draft, dude. See where we end up here. I'll go on this side. And I'll make it a little bit bigger for everybody. All right. So let's start the draft, Jeff. And we're at 32. We're still not going to do trades if

57:34that's okay. I'm not quite ready for a bunch of trade scenarios. But we're here at 32. And before we look at the players in detail, I'm curious, is there a position that you're hoping like falls to you at 32? I still like the cornerbacks. And when I've done a few of these scenarios in the past, but the time we get to 64, a lot of the cornerbacks I really like are gone. That's right. I love the trade down option because it's usually a bunch of them here. And then you can pick from the ladder. But not only Edge guys jump out at me yet. And maybe I have to get into that more. I think that would be the most logical use of capital because again, the group's old. But I love just the value of cornerback in this range. The cool part being at the combine, and I've shown some clips is all the guys we talked about in this range. It's probably part of their plan. Didn't meet with the sea hawks and a lot of them fit the sea hawks. So that's where I love it. I think you're getting the best of who you are, rather than who waits at the bottom.

58:36I think that's still my favorite position group. So there's a few names here to at least talk about. Did they impress? Do you just like take them at 32? This is like, this is the range where John Schneider took Ken Walker, top of the second round. He took Zack Shrivernai at the back of the second round. So he's taken his last couple drafts running backs in the second round. You're pretty much there with a 30 second pick. And then Malakai Lawrence, the Edge, is a name that we've talked about definitely fits the mold for the sea hawks. You've got Daniel O'Pan's who I love small, small guy, awesome player, awesome player, really awesome player. To me, he is a sea hawk, whether he's going to be drafted, he fits the mold. Brandon Cise, who we've talked about the bigger corner, still a little bit of a developmental player, but really rugged in the run game.

59:38Zion Young, who, you know, maybe didn't leave the best impression in some ways at the combine, but I think his tape is really good and really sea hockey. You've got Casey Konsep-Shion, who accepts you own, I should say, who is kind of like a little bit like a Debo Samuel. Like, I think that's a generous comparison. I don't think he's that much of a run after catch guy, but he's, that's been one of his, you know, certainly one of the things that make him a special player. We haven't talked about as much. This is a guy that 67366, a lot of people have him moving inside to guard. I mean, 366, dude. I mean, he is a load. So that would be interesting. Then Denzel Boston is sitting here from the Husky's 64209 receiver would be a really nice compliment to the other folks they've got in that room. Who stands out to you, man?

1:00:45I still like one of the corners, and if you sort by corners, Cise would be interesting. Yeah, I think Chris Johnson's just really solid. I think people, I think the Cocks met with him this week. He was a really smart. Cise is jumping off the page to me, though. Yeah, so Chris Johnson did have, I don't think he's had it, but he's going to Seattle for a top 30 visit. It was reported. And, you know, like he is a decent sized corner, has played really well in zone coverage, which I think is really important in this system, has had a decent run coverage grade, which I think is also important in this system, and has been an outside corner. So, yeah, I think Chris Johnson's an interesting name for sure. I think he's been buddy Tony Paul reading up our buddy Tony Pauline servers to get this week. And he's been more of like a low hit rate in Seattle, but he said in his article this week,

1:01:50and again, take care of leaving it however you want, but he said the Cocks have Johnson rated ahead of CC. I don't know if that's real. I don't know if that's true. I don't know why that would get out, but that was what he's heard. He hears a lot of things from scams. Johnson just saw it, like he is solid. He played from a smaller school at San Diego State plays a different conference. He's just a little probably more polished at this point, and CSA, CSA is more of an athlete, but yeah, take it for once worth. Do you have any temptation to take to Darian Price here? No, I think that's a bad pick at 32. Why? I just think it's you're forcing a position. I think you're forcing a need. I don't think he's a first round player. I would be pretty conflicted about that pick. I'd be pretty critical of that pick. I think that's why I'm nervous about the running back off season, because John's talking about the biggest mistakes he's made is when he's pushed guys up the board. That's questions whether you want to take a running back at 32 in general. I would not like that pick. My god, Dylan, Theanaman, number seven,

I think honestly, I would be pretty tempted by Denzel Boston here. Really? They just have so much invested a receiver, though. Yeah, but Cooper Cup comes off next year. Just like, and I don't think you're just putting Horton's your fourth receiver now. I don't know. I think you have to see how that plays out. I think Denzel Boston, just from a complimentary fit perspective, would be a really nice one. But yeah, it's not a need. I'm not going into this draft like, oh, they need to take this guy. That's like corners more of a need. I think they even sell me on ponds over Denzel Boston. Yeah, I really, I like ponds, but it's hard to spend a first round pick on a five-nine corner. It just is. Yeah. If Colton Hood was here, I think I would be more tempted. I just think it's

The, the need Dennis Sutton goes one pick before the Seahawks. Chris Brazil, who I also really like, is gone. Malachite Lawrence, Jadarian Price, gone. Kianta Scott, the corner, we just took a corner. Jennings Dunker is gone. So a lot of these kind of interesting where like the Seahawks can like trading into round two would be so advantageous for them. Is this just an easy mic Washington and don't think twice?

1:05:00Yeah. I'm starting to think so. This is where I'm a lot more comfortable taking a running back in the 60s during the third round at this point. And this is the thing, like say, go to the corner back list. I don't know if it plays out this way. But you get cleaned out pretty good. 1:06:04feel great about a 29 year old corner that's been cut by the team that essentially got them. Yeah. But I feel like corner just plays into their needs so well in that round one pick. I think Ed, you have a legitimate post draft plan running back. You're playing with fire and that's where I feel like I feel like you got to go edge first and corner second. I would genuinely consider drafting Garrett, uh, Garrett Nussmeyer in the third round. Uh, yeah, that would be. I don't know if he's that kind of guy, but I think he, I think he's a starting quarterback in the NFL. I know that's crazy, but I, I, I would like wood hedge on, I, I really like Jalen Milro. So I'm not looking to move off of him, but it would give you some answers there. Although I think that that's can also be a waste of a pick because you're probably going to have to move on from one of them. You won't keep both of them. So I'm talking myself out of it. Um, Bryce Lance, Trey's brother, he had some crazy testing. We already got a receiver. I spoke to him. Um, you got the key Wheatley who is appealing. So you could do that. Yeah, but I, I wouldn't like, in this draft, I feel like if that's a guy that you feel can be your starting running back. You know what? I wouldn't kill that at all. So Henry apparently had a good meeting with them. Um, he split carries for them in the national championship team. All right. So he's, at least in here, he's, he's down low. 1:14:35bit of a chance here. Yeah. We're going to move off that. We're going to look at interior offensive line and tackle. We're going to add to the, add to the group there. Yeah. The athletes, we got to find who are the athletes. I kind of like Notre Dame trench play. Oh, so that's, that's kind of appealing to me. Um, so I'm going to go ahead and take him Billy Schraff. Just sounds like an offensive lineman. Yeah. He Riley Mills will know him well. Yeah, there you go. They got internal scouting there. And then we're going to look at running back here in the sixth round. And we're going to take Hempi. Yeah. All right. So let's see how we feel about this draft. I mean, I like the upside better of this draft. Yeah. Yeah. I, I like, I still think Zion Young is the most impressive edge I've seen relative

1:15:40to what the sea actually looking for. I don't think he's going to get a lot of snaps this rookie year. Chris Brazil is one of my favorite receivers in this draft class. I think he's got a chance to be a really, really interesting pro. And he complements well with what they don't have really does long than a no corner thing in this draft. Those tough. It is. It is. I, it doesn't kill it for me, man. Like to be honest, I guess if you replace Zion Young with Colton Hood, which I could have drafted. Yeah, but let's be I don't think that's realistic. And I think he's too clean of a player at this point. Yeah, probably. I don't think he's and that's why I like, there's a lot of like early second rounders I can get sold on. Zion Young, a lot of the corners, James Dunker would be the most fun pick for sure. If you had that dude, you're lying, I know Rob's been pushing that. I don't know if there's a team that's going to trade up to 32. There probably isn't. But they can find a way to get down, get one of those

1:16:40fourth and fifth round picks back. I think that's the obvious move that they can't. I think one of the things that comes to me doing this, you know, and I've released I still got to dedicate more time to this man. But it's a tough year, man. It's just not a good draft. It's hard to get excited about. But, but I liked the feeling of adding to the interior offensive line. Like even if it's a project guy, I think I would feel better if they added a little bit more to the pile there. And I wouldn't say it's more important than corner to me. But it is probably raises their ceiling. Yeah. If you hit on someone that can really set a new standard at guard, then I think if that happens, you can raise the ceiling of the line. The running back position is far less of a concern. Exactly. The edge just feels like we're reaching we're hyper focusing. It feels like an LJ call your strategy. It doesn't feel like I'm not saying Zion Young's LJ call your obviously.

1:17:40It feels like that's the approach there. Corner, I like the players that's I think you're right. I think if you can get a corner first and you can get like the knee dentist Sutton second, then I'm excited. But there's not a lot of these edges that in the late second that I think are going to be left that are interesting. And so then it's really like you're basically saying no edge. Yeah, that's part of the risk. Yeah, depends like I know Daniel Jeremiah is like but depth of edge is huge. I'm not saying it like that. He's seen a lot more of it than I have. Exactly.
