Seahawks Lose Stars, Gain Depth in Free Agency

They lost running back Kenneth Walker, the MVP of that game, along with Ed rusher Boyet Mayfay and safety Kobe Bryant to Richard Diel's elsewhere. On the flip side, they brought back why receiver Rashid Shaheed and quarterback Josh Job on solid multi-year contracts. Walker headed to the Kansas City Chiefs for three years worth up to $45 million. Maffe joined the Cincinnati Bengals on a three-year deal, maxing at $60 million, while Brian signed with the Chicago Bears for three years and $40 million. Meanwhile, Shaheed re-upped with Seattle for three years up to $51 million, and Job got three years at $24 million. Longtime fans saw this coming on the first day of free agency. General manager John Schneider sticks to his plan of avoiding big early splashes, preferring to hunt for value later, and it's worked well for him over the years.

Seattle has some depth to cover Bryant with safety Tio Cotta already on the roster, though they'll need to fill gaps at running back in Ed rusher.
