And Doug, there's nowhere I wouldn't go to help someone customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual. Even if it means sitting front row at a comedy show. Hey everyone, check out this guy and his bird. What is this, your first date? Oh no, we help people customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual together. We're married. Ah! Mito a human, him to a bird. Yeah, the bird looks out of your league anyways. Only pay for what you need at Liberty Mutual.com. Liberty, Liberty, Liberty, Liberty. It is the end of the month 31st of March, 2026 and this is the latest on Scott Mills, who was abruptly removed from her after his final broadcast last Tuesday, during which he signed off by saying, see you tomorrow. Gary Davis has been presenting the show since as a fill-in. I'm not quite sure he does the sounds of the 80s, doesn't he, Gary Davis? And he does fill in for people at various times.
A little bit like maybe 10 or so years ago when they suddenly started bringing back Simon Mayo, who had been on radio five for years. And all of a sudden he started filling in for presenters on radio two. And then all of a sudden he got the regular gig on radio two. And it might be that they're trying to bring Gary Davis back. I'm sure, I'm sure Gary Davis is on radio two all the time. Anyway, so he's been filling in for Scott Mills ever since. And the BBC have confirmed the Scott is no longer contracted and has left the BBC. So it's all a bit weird, it's all a bit suspicious. There's no ongoing case as far as we know. This is simply the BBC sacking him for something that happened 10 years ago back in 2016, which is weird unless something new has come out. But as far as we know, so normally they'd say, you have to be careful what you say. Well, I'm not speculating at all about what's been going on.
As far as I know, he is one of the big mighty personalities on the BBC at the moment. And they've just sacked him for something that happened 10 years ago, which even then the police did their inquiries and then dropped it because there was nothing further to go on. So it's all a bit weird, if you ask me. And I don't think we want to be going down the road where the BBC is much as it's trying to show that it no longer protects rotten apples. I don't think it's going to be very good if the BBC start sacking people because of rumour and speculation. Nothing ever really in legal terms, you know, Philips Gofield, same thing happened. He was sacked effectively by ITV because of rumour and speculation and tabloid gossip and that type of thing.
And he was never, you know, he was innocent until proven guilty, but they still sacked him. So this is going on a lot these days. It's almost like these media companies have gone on for so long, for so many years letting the so-called talent get away with everything, that now they're starting to come down like a ton of bricks. It was Philip and now it's Scott. So the BBC has completely and utterly declined to provide any details on this, stating that it does not comment on individual matters.
